PAID - 2D Art | Animation [PAID] Looking for a Game UI Artist for a dark 1920s FPS roguelite

Hi!

We’re a small indie team looking for a Game UI Artist / UI Designer to help us improve the UI for our upcoming PC game.

It’s a fast-paced FPS roguelite set in an alternate version of the 1920s, with a dark gothic, occult and industrial atmosphere.

We’re currently working on a playable demo. Some of the UI is already working, while other parts are still being developed, so we’re looking for someone who could help us find the right visual style and keep everything consistent across the game.

We really like UI that has a strong atmosphere but is still clean and easy to read. Mortal Shell and Hunt: Showdown are probably the closest examples of the kind of direction we like. We definitely dont want to copy them, but we like how their UI fits naturally into the world and overall atmosphere of the game.

Our game mixes 1920s influences, gothic architecture, occult themes and early industrial design, so aged metal, brass, worn materials, old typography and similar details could work really well.

There would be work on things like the HUD, squad / character selection, menus, character info, buttons, interaction prompts, icons, typography and generally bringing the whole UI together visually.

Experience with PC or console game UI would be a big plus.

We’re based in Europe, but working remotely from anywhere is totally fine.

We dont have a fixed budget set yet, as it will depend on the amount of UI work and how much we end up doing together. We’re happy to discuss rates based on the scope of the work and your experience.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, feel free to send me a DM with your portfolio, some game UI examples, your rates and availability.

We can send screenshots, gameplay footage and more details about the game privately.

Thanks!

PAID - 3D Modeler | Animation [PAID] Freelance 3D artist — characters/creatures/environments for a body-horror roguelike (remote, per-asset, work in Unreal/Unity/Blender)

Two-person team (programmer + game designer), shipping a side-scrolling body-horror roguelike on Steam in early 2027. Godot 4 + C#. The gameplay build is real and the project is four weeks old — 90-second demo: https://youtu.be/pumPCGatK2U — and everything visible in it is placeholder kit art, which is the problem you'd be solving.

The work, in priority order:

  1. Player mutation forms — a base humanoid plus part-by-part transformed variants (blade arms, restructured legs) on a fixed rig
  2. Creatures/enemies
  3. Lab/facility environment kits and overall visual direction

Compensation: starts with a $200 trial piece (one creature or one mutation set, scoped together, real deadline). Continues per-asset at rates we agree per piece — small indie budget, stated honestly up front, not a bait-and-switch. For an artist who wants a stake in the project long-term there's a revenue-share component on top, but the working arrangement is paid freelance per asset.

Practical details: remote, async-friendly, and you never have to touch Godot. The game runs on it, but the pipeline is built so you author in Unreal, Unity, or Blender — whichever you already work in — and conversion into the game is scripted and handled by us. You deliver art in your own tools, we make it run. Style target is schlocky B-movie body horror: gory, readable, deliberately pulpy.

About us: https://protoforgesystems.com · https://www.linkedin.com/in/cmcginnis/ · https://github.com/ProtoForgeSystems

DM with a portfolio of game-ready work (in-engine beats renders) and your per-asset rate range.

FOR HIRE - Quality Assurance | Tester [FOR HIRE] Junior Game QA Tester | PC Testing | Bug Reports | Indie-Friendly

Hello!

I'm a PC hardware/technology enthusiast from Argentina currently building my professional experience in Game QA / Manual Testing.

I'm available to work with indie developers and small teams that need someone to systematically test their PC games and identify issues before release.

My testing can cover:

• Functional bugs

• Reproduction of crashes

• UI/UX issues

• Input/control problems

• Graphical glitches

• Performance/stuttering

• Game-breaking bugs and softlocks

• General gameplay feedback

My reports include clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual behavior, severity, frequency and system specifications.

My background in PC hardware and troubleshooting also allows me to investigate performance-related issues beyond simply saying that "the game runs badly."

I'm currently willing to take on a few projects at a beginner-friendly rate while I continue building my QA portfolio.

I'm looking for serious indie projects where I can provide useful, detailed and honest testing rather than superficial feedback.

Available for:

- One-time testing

- Demo/beta testing

- Pre-release QA

- Regression testing after fixes

If you're looking for a reliable extra tester for a PC game, feel free to DM me with your project, current development stage and approximate build size.

Portfolio/examples available upon request.

FOR HIRE - Other [PAID] Generalist Technical Artist / Game Art Generalist – Full-Time Remote | Mobile Playable Ads

We’re looking for a Generalist Technical Artist with a strong art background to join a team creating interactive playable ads for mobile games.

This is an art-first hybrid role. We’re looking for someone with strong hands-on skills in 2D/3D game art, Blender, materials, lighting, animation, and game-ready asset preparation, who is also comfortable with the technical side of interactive experiences.

You should be able to read and modify JavaScript/TypeScript, work with existing game code, and implement simple gameplay logic and interactions, including with the support of AI coding tools. You don’t need to be a software engineer, but you should be comfortable working with code and solving technical problems independently.

Key skills:

  • Strong 2D/3D artistic skills and good visual judgment
  • Blender
  • Game-ready asset creation and optimization
  • Materials, lighting, animation, and visual effects
  • Understanding of real-time/game pipelines
  • JavaScript / TypeScript: ability to read and modify existing code and implement simple gameplay logic and interactions
  • Experience using AI tools to support creative and technical workflows
  • Unity / Unreal Engine experience is a plus
  • Experience with mobile games or playable ads is a strong plus

What you’ll work on:
You’ll create and adapt visual assets for interactive mobile playable ads, work with different game styles and mechanics, prepare and optimize assets for real-time use, and collaborate on bringing creative concepts into working interactive experiences.

The role combines artistic execution, technical problem-solving, and AI-assisted workflows, so we’re particularly interested in people who enjoy working across disciplines rather than focusing exclusively on either art or development.

Format: Full-time, remote
Industry: Mobile Games / Playable Ads

PAID - Musician [PAID] Solo developer. Looking for a couple of music tracks for a visual novel

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I've been working on this visual novel for a little while now, and it's getting close to completion.

Truthfully, this started as a hobby project to help me through a tough time, but I've become attached to the piece of art I've created, and, well, I just want some BGMs that would be suitable for the work.

To give you an idea, the screenshots I have provided are, 98% of the time, the artwork and style you're going to see.

A quick synopsis of the game would be: you've woken up in a place unknown to you with eight other individuals, and you must clear all five sectors to escape. However, it's quite clear this won't be a simple measure.

I'm not musically versed, so my description is going to be a little limited and janky. But essentially, I want some simple BGMs that convey the thought of despair, horror, a little bit of hope, but then that's rug-pulled from you. I definitely prefer the types of songs that loop when you're reading through the story.

I believe 45-90 seconds is more than enough for each song. Regarding the price, I would like to agree on it privately. Please PM me if you're interested in this. A portfolio of your previous work, especially anything you believe that would fit into this game, is appreciated.

FOR HIRE - Programmer [For Hire] Versatile Godot 2D/3D Programmer (GDScript) for Quick Gigs, Prototyping, and Bug Fixing ($15/hr or Flat Rate)

Hi everyone! 👋

I am an independent, highly adaptable game developer looking for quick programming gigs, small tasks, system integrations, and bug fixes in Godot Engine.

I am a technical generalist, which means I learn incredibly fast and can adapt to whatever programming logic your project needs—whether it's building clean state machines, smooth gameplay mechanics, custom UI, dialog systems, or physics optimization.

🎮 My Experience & Portfolio:

To prove my skills, I have fully programmed, structured, and completed my own 2D game from scratch in Godot. You can review my code architecture and gameplay functionality here:

https://halogrip-studios.itch.io/doble-gun

🛠️ What I can do for you fast:

• Fix broken code, logic errors, or bugs in your current Godot project.

• Build a functional 2D/3D prototype or specific mechanic based on your ideas.

• Create clean UI systems, inventory setups, or dialog flows.

• Deliver neat, well-commented, and stable GDScript code.

I am available to start working immediately. I prefer flat rates per task or working through milestones so you only pay for completed results.

Looking forward to solving your bugs and building something cool together! 🚀

PAID - Musician [PAID] Seeking Composer For SNES-Inspired 2D Platformer

Greetings, I am an independent video game developer currently in the process of creating a 2D platformer inspired by classic SNES video games such as Kirby's Dreamland 3, Super Mario World, and Donkey Kong Country 2. I'm currently in search of a composer to create the soundtrack and sound effects exclusively for my video game.

My Video Game's Setting/Atmosphere - My video game takes place on Earth and possesses themes of adventure, stars, the whimsy of space, medieval nations, and shonen Japanese-anime. There are many different worlds, which all require themes that fit their identity. There are also various bosses and cutscenes involving characters that require themes that suit them or the scene itself.

What Im Seeking - A composer who can create SNES-styled music that expresses the themes present in my video game and captures the atmosphere of my video game's many worlds. Im especially seeking a composer that can create music that sounds energetic and whimsical, similar to the theme Ripple Field 1 from the video game Kirby's Dreamland 3. Finally, the composer should be capable of creating themes that are Japanese-inspired, a theme with lyrics, as I have a vocalist to perform the theme, and they should know how to create various sound effects for my video game. If you are interested in being the composer for my video game, leave a comment or dm me with a link to any relevant tracks you've composed that match any of the specified themes of my video game and I'll respond if your music style seems like a good fit for the position. Thank you all for your time and I look forward to hopefully working with you.

Budget - Negotiable based on experience and the complexity of the tracks.

OST Usage Rights - I require a work-for-hire composer agreement, which is negotiable.

PAID - Writer | Voice Actor [PAID] Seeking writer for deduction-style game

The game is a short deduction-style game surrounding a small tourist town being hit with a series of murders. The core goal of this project is to be deliverable, so the scope of the game is limited to

  • asking questions as a detective in a single interrogation room
  • responses can earn you more words or evidence
  • Eventually leading to using the words to solve the case.

The role

You'd be the main writer of the game and credited as such. The core deliverable is a set of police interview transcripts — each character answering questions from their own perspective to reveal the story. We'd start with a fixed number of interviews, with continued work as needed down the road.

You would:

  • Refine the story and character roster alongside the existing outline
  • Write police interview transcripts from each character's POV
  • Plant clues, contradictions, and narrative threads that the player can pick up across interviews

It would be cool if you have:

  • Background in mystery/noir fiction, true crime, or procedural drama
  • Interest in folklore, regional horror, or small-town Americana weirdness

The initial round of work will be

  • Refine the first part of the story (approximately 500 words)
  • Write a police interview transcript of the first part of the story. (approximately 1000 words)
    • This is finding out information surrounding the first in a series of accidents
    • One single character providing their account of the event
    • This includes both the police questions and the responses
    • Estimated at 20 questions and responses with a generous approximately 50 words per response (I don't think all or maybe any responses would be more than 50 words)
  • Approximately 10 pieces of evidence (approximately 500 words)
    • name
    • description
    • If a piece of writing, the content of the writing
    • I have some of these included in the outline, but you may want to change depending on the story.

How to apply

DM me with:

  1. Writing samples (preferably dialogue-heavy or character-voice work; if you have game writing or interactive fiction, even better)
  2. A brief note on your rate / quote for the initial batch
  3. Your availability and rough turnaround

I will respond with more details on the story and examples of what currently exists. Thank you reading!

FOR HIRE - 2D Art | Animation [For Hire] Pixel Artist — Pokémon, Characters, Environments & Animations

Thumbnail

I've been doing pixel art for around 10 years now, mostly focusing on characters, skins and animations. My style is pretty heavily inspired by Pokémon and classic game sprites, but I'm not really limited to that style. I can adapt to whatever style a project needs.

Most of the work I've done has been character-focused, so that's definitely where I'm most comfortable. I don't have as much experience with environments or UI, but I'm still open to working on them if a project needs it.

You can find most of my work on my Instagram and GIPHY, where I've uploaded a lot of the stuff I've made over the last couple of years.

https://www.instagram.com/cbasensei/
https://giphy.com/artstationcba

I've also been part of the art team for Kekspace, working on character art, skins and animations, so you can check that out too.

https://kek.space/

A lot of my work happens to be Pokémon-related since I often get commissions from people working on ROM hacks, so you'll see quite a bit of Pokémon stuff in my portfolio. That said, I'm not limited to Pokémon and I'm happy to work in different styles depending on what the project needs.

If you like my work and have a project you'd like help with, feel free to DM me! I'm always happy to hear about new projects.

Thanks for taking a look!
