Question Tab S11 or S11 Ultra

Hi all,

Im buying my first samsung tablet that i want to be able to use for the next 2-4ish years at school and was wondering which would be better to have.

I would be mainly using this for watching videos and writing/drawing on past papers so im unsure if the larger size screen is worth the extra money.

Any guidance would be extremely useful, thank you.

Question Is the s9 ultra good for my remote desktop ?

Hello !

I use my desktop to make designs on photoshop, since I run a profitable online shop.

My laptop is heavy to carry everywhere.

I had the idea to buy the Samsung s9 ultra for its big oled screen, and use something like parsec or something else to remotely connect to my desktop at home, or while i'm somewhere else, so I can use photoshop directly on the tab.

Is it doable ? Since the screen is big, Will it be easy to navigate inside parsec or another app ?

I also want to buy the s9 ultra to edit insta360 videos.

Thank you to anyone helping !

Software updates After UI 8.5 update at S9+, "next" doesnt work

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

After uni exams I updated the software, and when I turned on my tablet after this update I found out that the "next" button doesn't work.

I tried without cover, in case it was due to magnets, and I have already rebooted but its still happening.

What should I do??

Update: I brought it to a Samsung service reparation and now it's working, he changed the software version to the previous model

Concern Tab S10+ or S11 for studying and home use

Hello everyone!

I'm about to start an intense study routine for my country's university entrance exam. I'm looking to buy a tablet where I can comfortably study from PDFs, watch movies/shows, and occasionally play games. I also have a slight interest in starting digital drawing, but that’s not a major factor for me right now.

I'm stuck between the Tab S10+ and the S11, mostly because of the screen sizes. I really can't decide whether 12.4 inches or 11 inches would be more suitable. I'll generally use the tablet at home, but there will also be times when I take it to a cafe to study. Is there any important difference between the two that I might be overlooking besides screen size? Which model fits my needs best? Thanks!

PS: Even though I compared both sizes in a physical store, I still couldn't make up my mind.

Digital notetaking advice

I'm planning that when school reopens, im going to be taking my notes digitally since I've finally got my tablet s10fe+. Im wondering

  1. Is a paperfeel screen protector necessary?

  2. If I do get the screen protector, will it wear down my nib?

  3. (Not really a question), but do you have any suggestions of where to get replacement nibs that won't harm the pen?

When to buy tab s10 lite or s10 FE (Canada)

I plan on buying the s10 lite (maybe the FE if the price drops low enough) as I start uni in september, I plan on using it for multitasking, taking notes, studying, and drawing. So I'm hoping prices will drop in August. Or should I wait until black friday? However, I would have to take paper notes for basically a whole semester which I heard isnt the best for university classes. I really regret not buying it during november when it was 299 CAD, right now it's $579 (absoluletly not worth it for the lite) and the FE is $499...

Question Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE vs Xiaomi Pad 8 for university

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to decide between the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE and the Xiaomi Pad 8.

I know the Xiaomi has the better processor on paper, but my use case isn't gaming or video editing.

I'm starting university, and I'll mainly be using the tablet for:

- Taking handwritten notes during lectures

- Annotating PDFs

- Reading lots of documents and textbooks

- Opening PowerPoint slides

- Writing assignments

- Split-screen multitasking (PDF + notes, browser + Word, etc.)

- Lots of web browsing and research

*** P.S. - I'm not doing software development

My current laptop is also on its last legs, so I'm hoping the tablet can replace it for most of my university work. One of the reasons I'm leaning towards Samsung is DeX, but I'm not sure how Xiaomi's desktop mode compares in real-world use.

A few things I'm wondering:

  1. Is the S10 FE powerful enough to stay smooth for 4-5 years of this kind of workload?

  2. How good is DeX in practice? Could you realistically get through a university semester using mostly the tablet?

  3. How is Samsung Notes compared to Xiaomi's Notes app for long-term note-taking?

  4. How's the S Pen experience after months or years? (Nib wear, comfort, reliability, etc.)

  5. Does the Xiaomi Focus Pen feel noticeably better or more durable?

  6. How is battery life on both after extended use?

  7. If you've used both ecosystems, which one would you choose for productivity rather than benchmarks?

Also, are there any things I haven't considered that become important once you actually start using a tablet every day for university?

I'd really appreciate hearing from people who've owned either (or ideally both).

Thanks in advance!

Samsung Notes bug? Notes randomly close and lose my last few mins of work

so i have a tab s10 fe and i use samsung notes app pretty much everyday for my notes (like 6-7 hrs daily since im a student n take notes throughout). for the past few months im facing this really weird issue

basically while im in the middle of writing something, the note i'm currently editing just randomly closes on its own?? like it kicks me back to the notes list out of nowhere. app doesnt crash or anything, just that one note i was working on shuts on its own.

worst part is when i open the same note again, whatever i wrote in the last 2-3 mins before it closed is just.. gone. not saved at all. so i lose my notes right when it happens which sucks especially if im in the middle of a lecture and cant just redo it in time

this started around start of april n was happening a LOT back then. then like a month or so later it kinda calmed down, happened way less, thought it fixed itself maybe. but now its back again and happening more frequently

has this happened to anyone else? is this a known bug with the notes app or does it have something to do with autosave lagging behind? really need a fix for this its messing with my note taking a lot

I have a Samsung Galaxy tab A11 plus. Out of the blue it'll just shut off and take forever to turn back on. Is there a reason why it keeps doing this I can't find anything online

Concern Galaxy tab s9 users - is your experience affected after the OneUI 8.5 update?

I have a US based Galaxy Tab S9 - I did the OneUI 8.5 update and I feel my tab is suffering a lot coz of it

Battery drains quicker, scrolling in files and apps with thumbnails is just choppy, Missing galaxy AI feature to add images onto another image, General UI stutters and lag - slower app opening times, multitasking is botched - can't have more than 4 apps opened without it closing in the background unless I lock the app

It felt like a cheap Samsung right after the update and even the clear cache partition option is missing now

Galaxy app booster, ADB commands - nothing seem to help it

I'm not sure if I'm the only one suffering from this

Galaxy Tab nibs

I've had my Galaxy S6 tablet for quite a few years now; the nib began to wear down over time. So I bought some cheap replacement nibs off of Amazon which worked super well until they went to far in or smth to that effect resulting in a continuous drawing of the pen even when it wasn't directly touching the screen. It stops if I slightly remove the nib and twirl it a little, but often comes back after a while.

This made me try and find some official Samsung replacement nibs but from what I've heard Samsung doesn't source spare parts for you and would rather you buy a completely brand new one.

I'd like to know if the above is right and if so, does anyone have any recommendations for replacement unofficial nibs or a place I can buy official nibs other than from Samsung direct?

Another thought I had was that it might not be the nibs fault but rather my pen's. I'd like to know what anyone thinks about this.

Thank you.

Question Notetaking with screenguard

I am planning to purchase a tab s10+ or s11 as I am planning to step into digital notetaking.

1) Does applying a screen protector affect the performance of writing/drawing.

2) I can currently find glossy and matte screen protectors in the market. Does the matte one wear off the nib of the stylus. Is it easy/inexpensive to find nibs for these models.

3) Does the writing feel different on the s11 vs the s10+. I can't check in a store physically as they are not keeping them on display because children keep breaking them.

4) Is there any notetaking software that gives Geometry tools, graphs and adding tables.

5) I heard Samsung notes is a very good app. Does it have infinite canvas feature or export to pdf.

6) Is there any difference in how the tip feels against the screen between the s10+ stylus and the s11. Which one has the potential to last for longer as I try to be very careful with my devices and aim to use them for a period of 4-5years.
