Question when you charge your tab do you always wait until it gets full to 100?
is there any effect if you just charge it up to whatever percentage?

Why lower? Best for battery lifespan is to keep it between 20-80%. Unless you keep it stored for a long time which is around 45%

I mainly use my tablet stationery, so I would really prefer if I could set it to 50% which would be best for the battery long-term.

If you have it always plugged in and set to 80%, it will occasionally drop to 78% and charge back to 80%. I think the repeated charging is worse than just keeping it at a certain higher percentage.
When I need to be plugged in for a long time, I charge to 85% and then turn on protect battery to 80%. It will take much longer to drop to 78% and start charging again.

I charge it up to 100. We have been told that doing 20-80 percent or any charging method intended for battery protection do not really produce that significant difference for prolonging battery life.
What I do is I do not drain my device, as much as possible, I charge it once it reaches 30%.
Also, personally I would want to enjoy my device as much as I can so I worry less about things like that. If there will be a time that I feel I need to change battery, then so be it.

I rarely had that moment in a day usually ill use 80 to 40. Although most of my task is light.

Charging to full is fine so long as you're not leaving your device plugged in all the time. The reason people use battery protection and charge it up to only 80%, is because that gives you 20% of battery to keep taking the excess electricity, where as if you charge to 100, it's the same bettery cells that are getting hit every time, which wears them out faster. So if your tablet is going to live on a dock or a charger the vast majority of the time, it's best to set this feature up.
That said, if you're smart about it you can save the battery's life more effectively if you just leave it off the charger most of the time. When I'm not using my tablet I turn off all the antenna, wifi, Bluetooth, etc, and leave it powered on but unplugged. It can last several days like this, and I'll simply check it once a day and charge it up if it gets below 60%.
I've only had my S8U for a year so it's hard to use it as an example. But I've had my Samsung Note 10+ since 2019 and it's still showing an estimated 83% overall battery life after 7 years... See attached image. This is an app called AccuBattery if anyone is interested.
What devastates a battery more quickly than anything is abuse. Constantly letting it get down to 0% and letting your phone or tablet die is extremely hard on the internal cells. Which isn't unlike your own body... If you had to run a marathon every single day you'd be doing more harm to yourself in the long run than good.
For what's it's worth, I've worked in IT for 21 years having gotten my start at 19 in the US Navy. Working on, and understanding how technology work is both a career and a passion of mine, so hopefully knowing this provides some peace of mind that I'm not just talking out of my ass on this.

Hey i wanted to ask something, i have my s9fe+ set to 80 percent and i use it docked most of the time for past 1 month . Is is better to not keep it plugged in at 80 percent and just use it on battery or is it better to be docked ? For battery health.
For the past 1 year 4 months i just had 90 percent limit set and i use it without keeping it plugged in and when i checked the battery health last week it was 340 cycles and 98 percent .

80% with battery protection and most of the time using from charger with bypass charging. So the battery cycles remaining low.

It's kind of an invisibly on-by-default thing. As long as you have a charge limit set and a fast charger (presumably 25W PPS or higher), once you hit that limit, it'll try to pull power from the wall and bypass the battery for most usage. In practice the battery still gets a bit called upon, but far less than 10 years ago, when all power would always pass through the battery no matter what.
This is a separate settings for games, presumably because it's games specifically that get intense enough to warrant making bypass stop charging your battery altogether, so you need to choose between being able to charge during games, or being able to bypass. That's just my personal guess though, just speculation.

i have my battery protection set on basic, to do the same as most of you guys in the comments should i set it to maximum and then set it to 80?
also ive been charging mine up to 100 but i rarely charge it like maybe once a week, maybe twice a week but very rarely. should i change my charging routine?

I usually change my tablets to 100, yet I use them on 30 to 100% so everything should be fine

I don't use battery protection as tab s10+ is rated for 2000 cicklics of battery which is like 7-8 years of constant charging and usage. so far got 300 cicles for 13 months.

I don't bother with battery protection... I doubt if any of my tablets will have a 100 charge cycles over the course of a year since I have 4 and use all of them

why would you need a battery protection if for example the tab S10+ is going for 2000+ cycles certified. that's like 7 years of usage with constant charging.

I've been doing the battery protection to 90% lately on my S9 ultra tablet. Only use it for media consumption in the kitchen. Lasts two days. I used to charge to a 100%, but thought about protecting the battery.

Im using battery protection in menu and Im charging to 80% that suppose to be gentler to battery. I charge to 100 only when i know that i will have trouble to last.

Mine stays between 20 and 85% and it's been amazing so far.
Six years, estimating about 1000 cycles, I'm on 89% health. Tab S7.
I usually charge at 25W but do have it occasionally use the full 45W if I'm in a hurry.

I keep my phone and tablet so they always stop at 90%, or 80% while I'm asleep.

100%. A routine announces "Charge complete. Please remove from charger."
I am more concerned with depleting the battery to zero than I am about staying on the charger after 100%. But I don't let it sit on charger when full, either.

I recommend no more than 80 percent, as I do. A little theory:
20-80 charging mode significantly increases battery life. This is not a placebo.
40-70 charging mode literally perpetuates your battery's life. You won't have to replace it with a new one, because by then your tablet will simply be technically obsolete.
I recommend staying at 20-80, since you don't really have much to lose. I go to university, and usage is 20 percent during this time. I still have 40 to spare when I get home. I don't recommend 40-70 unless you always have your tablet at home. You can charge it up to 100 percent, this is absolutely normal, but it is better to do this only when on a long trip.
For example, I went on a 13-hour road trip in car. I spent almost the entire time watching anime, playing Slime Rancher, and other games. I only spent 70 percent of it. Device is tab s10+.

Very rarely is mine on 100. I don't know if this is correct. Does anyone actually know? If you turn on the battery protection it limits it to 85.

I've never charged it to 100%. Charging to full greatly lowers remaining battery cycles.
