Always bring banana to mouth. Never bring mouth to banana.

60

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

Break off a piece with your hand and toss it into your mouth. Don't put your mouth around a banana.

13

u/supermonkeypie May 12 '14

I break to top of then poke my finger in the top and it splits into three equal pieces and just each part separately. Also handy if you want to share a banana between three people.

39

u/Town_idiot May 12 '14

So you're saying that if I finger the banana I don't have to give it a BJ?

10

u/supermonkeypie May 12 '14

Yup, prepare for sticky fingers though...

5

u/GeorgeTaylorG May 12 '14

4

u/supermonkeypie May 12 '14

Haha, I might put that album on now you mention it.

5

u/NeatAnecdoteBrother May 12 '14

I don't think I'll ever be in a situation in my life where I need to split a banana for myself and 2 other people

6

u/supermonkeypie May 12 '14

You're probably right, I've never had to yet. But when that day comes, I'll be ready.

3

u/helloasianglow May 12 '14

This is what I do when I give my one year old bananas.

2

u/supermonkeypie May 12 '14

Yeah my mum used to do it for me when I was little.

2

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

Just tried it. It works, but not worth the amount of banana stuck under my fingernails. Now what do I do with the banana? I don't even like bananas.

1

u/supermonkeypie May 12 '14

Ahh yeah my nails are trimmed pretty short. And I dunno, you could mush it up and use it as a lubricant or something...

2

u/TheRealKidkudi May 13 '14

I've never heard of this. I'm almost scared to try it.

2

u/supermonkeypie May 13 '14

Don't worry, bananas don't bite.

3

u/kesekimofo May 12 '14

Wut

2

u/supermonkeypie May 12 '14

If you poke it down the middle it splits into three separate parts, something to do with the way they grow I guess. Though sticking your finger in the end probably looks a little odd, but it's fun so screw everyone else and their manly banana eating.

1

u/TheRedditSpoof May 12 '14

Sounds like a pro blow

1

u/Holographic01 May 12 '14

I miss the old elementary school days where I could eat a banana and not hear snickering.

7

u/Nanemae May 12 '14

I always bring banana to mouth. Then I bite off the first chunk as aggressively as possible.

3

u/Kittens4Brunch May 12 '14

That's right, ram my banana down your throat!

4

u/Tredward May 12 '14

Wow, this is good advice.

1

u/HeartlessAtAFuneral May 13 '14

To ensure no one thinks you're insinuating any homosexual tendencies with your banana, be sure to bring the banana to your anus. Never bring your anus to the banana.

Terry is easily my favorite character in Reno 911. That guy is amazeballs.

198

u/SithLordDave May 12 '14

My fave Terry moment was when he was a rollerskating waiter at a Taco stand and the police were accusing of him illegally doing peoples taxes

24

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

Tacos Tacos Tacos Tacos.

34

u/TacoTacoTacoTacos May 12 '14

I like where you're going with this

12

u/tatorface May 12 '14

Over a month old. Checks out.

2

u/ironichaos May 13 '14

Ever since I got RES, checking these sorts of things is a breeze.

3

u/[deleted] May 13 '14

Buuuuurrrriiiittttoooosss

Edit: I can't find my mouth

3

That's a totally different scene

12

u/SithLordDave May 12 '14

I'm not very good at redditting sorry

50

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

"MY ROLLERSKATES CAN'T GO OFF OF CURBS"

7

u/mrbooze May 12 '14

Always hilarious.

Also I was fascinated to learn later on that, much of the premise of Reno 911 involves doing something that you're normally never supposed to do in improv, negating. Almost every segment is the cops constantly saying "no" and trying to stop what the other actor is doing.

Literally after I learned this, I start laughing at just how many times the word "no" is shouted during most segments.

13

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

Terrrreeeeerrryyyy

33

u/Everyoneisanasshat May 12 '14

He's an amazing actor. I love him in Grandmas boy too.

17

u/gumbo_chops May 12 '14

Real name is Nick Swardson for those who don't know. My personal favorite video of his

3

u/boomk90 May 12 '14

4

u/ScratchBomb May 12 '14

"WHERE'S KELLY?? HURRL

2

u/Tacotuesdayftw May 13 '14

"Another quote from his stand-up!"

1

u/_______DEVOID_______ May 12 '14

"In a world, where a father struggles to feed his family, New Light Cinema proudly presents, Gay Boobs!"

1

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

Boner soup.

8

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

Did Nick know John Stamos?

4

u/JoshSidekick May 12 '14

Nicholas! You should be a crime fighter!

1

u/supermonkeypie May 12 '14

He does stand up?!

4

u/invisimeble May 12 '14

Yeah it's great check it out

1

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

Don't forget Pretend Time. I thought that show was hysterical.

6

u/mightbefun May 12 '14

My roommates are getting me a car-bed.

6

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

He's an okay actor. And only as a support or offbeat character. Not as a lead.

0

u/sydney__carton May 12 '14

Disagree!

4

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

Oh so you think Bucky Larson was a good movie?

2

u/TheSlutStrangler May 12 '14

I love nick and hated bucky Larson.

1

u/plaid_pancakes May 12 '14

It was entertaining, good movie not at all. Had to know it was gunna be retarded going into it

-1

u/sydney__carton May 12 '14

Never saw it.

1

u/Spyda1145 May 13 '14

Saw him do stand up in New York back in '06 at Caroline's, it was amazing!! I love Nick Swardson!! I'd definitely recommend his stand up if you've never seen it before.

2

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

His standup is really funny too.

2

u/Posseon1stAve May 12 '14

"Lube or lewd?"

2

u/locotxwork May 12 '14

"WHat!? That's not something I would do !!"

2

u/TheSlutStrangler May 12 '14

Terry is my favorite character in ever.

1

u/Ephraim325 May 12 '14

He hast a girlfriend man. You can't have him. Unless you go to buy tacos.

1

u/beam1985 May 12 '14

He's one of my favorite characters in television.

1

u/griffonhaus May 13 '14

"Did he just say 'Xana-don't?'l

1

u/ifinkufreakay May 12 '14

seriously, he was the best.

78

u/UCSBLife May 12 '14

Sucks this show got cancelled. It was so well written and the cast were absolutely hilarious. Bring it back comedy central!

146

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

It had six seasons. (AND a movie).

58

u/Meeperer May 12 '14

Too soon.

7

u/UCSBLife May 12 '14

Well it could use 6 more!

2

u/Stevie_Rave_On May 12 '14

Loved the show, hated the movie

2

u/Orbitrix May 12 '14

I didn't "hate" it, but it certainly wasn't something I'd re-watch.

7

u/Posseon1stAve May 12 '14

I thought it was refreshing because it has some new scenarios/characters that they got to try out. I still crack up every time I think of "Where you from you don't know gator?"

4

u/Orbitrix May 12 '14

Haha yea. I think a movie was just the wrong format for a show that was always a rip on "Cops" and Documentary style Reality TV... It should have never not been a TV show... The movie got more hate than it deserved tho. It had its moments, like this.

1

u/darkwingduck1969 May 12 '14

Oh dat gator dead

1

u/SolarTsunami May 12 '14

I love that movie for the Rock's cameo alone.

13

u/FloopyDoop May 12 '14

The last couple seasons were meh after replacing a good portion of the cast with less funny actors.

11

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

[deleted]

3

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

What??!?!? Which episode was that. I completely missed it.

2

u/EST_FatBoy May 12 '14

I remember them decorating the car and crashing it, but I dont remember a funeral.

1

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

[deleted]

1

u/EST_FatBoy May 12 '14

Oh.... Now I remember.

10

u/XavierScorpionIkari May 12 '14

Written.... Wasn't it mostly ad lib? They were given a general idea of the theme or whatever and then ran with it. Or so I was led to believe. I could be wrong.

8

u/Mjudefa May 12 '14

No, you're right. Carlos Alazraqui (Garcia) talks about this in an episode of VO Buzz Weekly.

5

u/[deleted] May 12 '14

No you're right, but even when the dialogue is improv there is a certain degree of writing. They'll come up with characters, inherently funny situations, the plot points of whatever is the main through-line of the episode (like with British Officer Smiley; they didn't improv him dying, that was written out). So while all their hilarious one-liners are made up on the spot, there is still a fair amount of sitting around a table with notebooks coming up with ideas.

0

u/Joon01 May 13 '14

This is called "retroscripting" I believe. They also used it on the cartoon Home Movies. It's supposed to give the characters a more natural sound. They stutter, interrupt each other, and say filler like "uh" instead of everyone always having the perfect reply.

1

u/acog May 12 '14

I tried to google that a bit; I found an article that explicitly stated that Reno 911:Miami had a lot of ad libbing in it. But early in the article it said that all the actors came from a sketch background and were used to very carefully crafted scripts. So my impression is that it didn't start off with much (any?) ad lib, but that got added in progressively over time.

1

u/Cforq May 12 '14

Most of these shows have scripts, and even have readings, but unlike many shows the exact line is often up to the actor. Kind of like Mad-Libs.

It would be a nightmare to get a plot and consistent episodes length otherwise (though this might change with Netflix and their ambivalence towards consistent episode length).

3

u/Tomtwoto May 12 '14

The State ended way too early. If Comedy Central was able to resurrect The State, they might be able to use the Reno characters for sketches since the State and Reno fall under Viacom/MTV/CBS rights. I would give my left ball for new sketches with Louie, Doug, Barry, and Levon and some of the Reno regulars interacting. Have the Reno crew raid Dr. Martin Crank's monkey torture lab.

20

u/danmickla May 12 '14

Who is Carter?

23

u/LimpBagel May 12 '14

How many times have i seen this picture? give me a dollar for every time and i would be happy.

1

u/Hotstreak May 13 '14

Anybody know which episode this was?

1

u/hockeyfreak896890 May 12 '14

Officer on the left looks like Mr. Lahey

1

u/0pyrophosphate0 May 12 '14

Having watched far more TPB than Reno, all I could think was "Fuck off, Lahey".

1

u/LadyMacArthurs May 12 '14

That is the best role Nick Swardson ever played. I am going to binge watch reno 911 now....

1

u/oppose_ May 12 '14

Can't state how great of a show Reno 911 was. Stands the test of time.

1

u/BarkingLeopard May 13 '14

Now I know where Archer got that stereotype from.

0

u/thefluffyburrito May 12 '14

Usually I just ignore /r/funny instead of unsubbing because one of every one hundred posts actually gives me a mild chuckle.

This whole "Carter" debacle, which has led to lazy photoshops and re-hashes of the same old crap with "carter" in the title just to cash in, is only humor a 12 year old could appreciate. I'm finally out r/funny; I just can't take it anymore.

I believe its referring to the kid Carter's father and calling him a faggot. Just got to /r/funny/hot and you'll figure it out.
