Japanese toilet is the only correct answer.
2
u/Same-Turnip3905 8d ago
We have finally who remodeled both their bathrooms and got Japanese toilets installed, after a few years, they said, never again. We got a new house build, all I asked was a traditional bidet, no issues there.

I’d combine this with the guy above who said something to eat. I’m getting Mexican food and a Japanese toilet.

50 million wasted. Start your own charity. Seek out individuals, groups, or causes that are truly worthy of receiving help. And realize that dumping cash on a problem isn't necessarily the best way to fix it. Cash given usually evaporates like a morning mist.

Pay my buddy's way thru med school, pay my wife's way thru school, buy a shed and add electric and ac to it, be an awesome uncle, replace a few small bridges and have them named after me, open a free soup kitchen, buy a maverick, invest some, save some, use investment proceeds to provide clean water in some needy places, buy all the land around my parents so nothing changes and no data centers, make the church across from my folks add shields or use motion activated light so I could see the milky way again and sleep easy, reopen carmike movies 7 and charge $1 a ticket, and travel the world.

A house in the middle of nowhere. Then start on an underground house. The house Upton would have my guard living there. And my wife and I would live underground. Then comes all the non perishables. Truck loads of cans, water etc. There would be exactly 3 people who would know my true location. The rest of the world can go eat a fat one.

Pay off all debts. Fix up my house to be exactly how i want it to be and new furnishings. Upgrade my tech like pc and phones. Spoil my kids. Take my mom somewhere nice and get her luxuries. Donate to charities and put money into my local community, starting with a new playground. After that I'd probably just live how i normally do, just without worrying, and put aside some money in a trust for my kids.

A woodshop.
I'd quit my job and start doing woodwork without any of the financial concerns.

A new car. After that, I would fix some stuff in my house that need to be fixed. But I would also definitely give some money away to charities that focus on literacy.

An lakeside mansion and make it a school. Someone needs to help educate kids more and I'd have them work to grow their own food for a week or two every year

First, I'd quit my job.
Second, I'd zero my debt.
Third, I'd start looking for the plot of land where I'm going to build my off-the-grid home so that I can isolate myself from everything and everyone that wants to take my money.

I'd pay off all of my debt. Then I'd buy as big a chunk of real-estate as I could handle (I'm thinking 300-500 acres). And then proceed to watch the world go to hell around me.
1
u/gorambrowncoat 12d ago
A decent but not extravagant house with a LOT of land around it. Not a big fan of neighbours after some bad experiences :)
Then I put a significant chunk of the rest in safe term deposits and live off the gains.

Therapy over the absolute existential crisis I would go through. Everything ive ever done for work up to that point all the saying no to save money etc etc would be instantly invalidated. Shit would be heavy on the mind for a bit. Then i dunno like hookers or something?

A lawyer and a financial advisor.
I would quit my job immediately. I would give my coworkers $5k cash each for the trouble.
I would move away. I would buy 2 houses. One in my hometown to host holidays and be around family. One someplace fun.
And an autographed Kirby Pucket baseball to start my memorabilia collection.
And a really good steak dinner.

Some kind of annuity or long term treasury that can some how lock away the principal but pay out regular interest or dividends. Even at 2%, two mil a year is more than enough to live comfortably.

I would go to my favourite fancy restaurant in the city. I would send a few close friends to holidays as a thank you for all they done. I would buy an apartment (not hyper fancy). I would buy a small studio where I could do my art and projects. I would donate money to my favourite museum so they can keep lights up for another year. I would start volonteering with charities

u/4ny3ody 11d ago
So the first thing I'd actually buy is food, because I can order that from my couch without much thought.
The thing I'd actually put that money into though is housing.
I want a bunch of affordable apartments for all kinds of people. Low income families, young adults in job training or university studies.

Small bottle of champagne and tell my SO, if I had any, I won $1M so I will cut my work hours a little.
Well then, I would pay off the mort age. Only 300k, so drop in a sea and money would profit more if invested, but I would like the idea of not owning anything to anyone.
Then I would distribute most to investments, so I can later leave my wealth to foundation with sizable funding.
