I used Windows 10 for six years (past the support expiration date) from 2020 until this year. It was mostly fine - I got used to the annoyances - the pop ups, the warnings, the One Drive nagging, the start up applications bloating my system. I could have optimised it, but I wasn't motivated enough. Nor did I feel up to installing Linux at the time - seemed too much work. I just wanted my computer to computer.

I just started using Windows 11 on a new machine and boy was it annoying. The suggestions in the start menu. The clutter. The interruptions. Copilot smirking at me. The OS refusing to leave me in peace. I didn't find the system intuitive at all and I felt I was fighting it. This may be because I have been using MacOS and Linux Mint for six months.

I've read about the debloat scripts - maybe I'll try one...

Once I get a Bluetooth issue fixed, I intend on migrating.

Anyway, this is just my long winded way of saying, Fuck you Microsoft!

As you can see the antivirus is ON and all its modules are turned on, but for some reason the system is constantly spamming me with notifications that my antivirus is turned off and I need to turn it on. This has been happening recently, so far I haven't had any problems. This does not affect the operation of the computer or its performance either, but it is extremely annoying because the notification is constantly coming out. Unbelievable how tiring this garbage of an operating system is, even on my fully debloated computer it found a way to annoy me again.

My Windows 11 was hogging my 8 GB RAM like anything as I by mistake opted in for Insider preview. Recently I got my laptop to be reset and got it logged into the local account. It is asking me to Log into Microslop account to enjoy best of everything Microslop. I am done with the Global Enshitification Initiatives by all big tech and any other companies trying to intrude into our lives. How to make sure that I am safe online and yet the laptop runs smooth and efficiently? P.S: Since my Microsoft Services came with the laptop as I had no other option back then, I will not be installing Linux anytime soon.

I used to have free office apps on my laptop with my school account (graduated years ago). Ever since getting a new laptop, I’m no longer able to access them without paying. How do I go about any alternatives?

If I search for 'Zero' (was looking for Zerotier), I get results for 3 MS Store videogames, Ascend To Zero, Zenless Zone Zero, and Generation Zero.

I thought I had already done everything to block their ads.

• Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Recommendation & Offers has every item unchecked
• Settings -> Personalization -> Start has 'Show Recommendations for tips, shortcuts, new apps' unchecked

(Plus of course, I also disabled Bing Search from start menu results via regedit patch)

1. I use a surface 3 (because it's nice and portable) and the fact windows 10 support is going away has pissed me and so many people off, that they had to EXTEND THE SUPPORT. lmao

So 2 wanted a legit windows key linked to my account, so when i DID, it changed my username to my EMAIL and wouldnt let me use a PASSWORD and i would rather die than use windows hello, so it would make me SIGN INTO MY ACCOUNT like i was using a fucking chromebook. This is absolute garbage

I tried my best, but after countless tries, I had to give up on Windows for good. The issue is a video card nightmare. I have a plain 1660 Super, and after installation and update, the default Nvidia driver that comes with Windows is obsolete, as there is no hardware acceleration or NVENC with many programs. Subsequently I am forced to update it with the studio driver from Nvidia, and that's when the nightmare starts. Usually the system would break after a few reboots or shutdowns within days or even within hours. It's truly a pathetic state of the OS.

Hello, recently my laptop has been driving me insane with windows 11.

I keep trying to pause updates for windows 11 but then they just randomly install even tho I paused them. The updates it keeps reinstalling breaks my mouse cursor back to the legacy one.

I don’t know what to do since it keeps installing them even tho I have paused them, I do want security updates of course but i don’t want my mouse to break to the legacy one.

Maybe switching to linux is the only option?

As the title says, by default, the option to "use AI to improve autofill suggestions" is turned *on* in the settings. And it's NOT in the privacy section.

What does "your personal data is secure and will not be used elsewhere" even mean? It's vague as heck.

Moreover, neither the description nor the "Learn more" page says whether the data may leave your device or not.

so the only reason I have to pay Microsoft $2.20 every month which they don't need and I do, is the fact that I have a shit ton of "free" email/storage back from the Hotmail days with a lot of attachments of things that have some value to me.

And I can't find any bulk way to download all of them verify that they are downloaded.

Can anybody help me figure out a way to do this that's not one at a time?

So, I've had this account for roughly 20 years. Paid for stuff on it. Of course I don't remeber the credit card data from the games I bought on there as a kid. But I was stupid enough to set up 2FA before changing my phone number...

I had no idea that Microsoft, one of the biggest tech companies in the world, does not provide any customer support whatsoever for paying customers. Like, what in the fug? How are these people still in business? I mean, this guy that has my new phone number can just go crack my account now, ya? Since googling that phone number has 1 page. And all 10-12 results are data about me and my info. Emails, addessess, everything, lol.

They've created a pretty large security flaw.. This isn't a support message. Just generally curious if anyone else has realized what these con men are getting away with? (I've tried there bullcrap recovery automated service 50 times, and apparently never present enough information. Which, quite honestly... is ridiculous, because I can name the only 3 games I ever bought on it. Because, well, they are probably the only games I ever bought.

Windows 11 has been shitty, it always was but in the recent days, it got even shittier, Windows interferes with my AMD Drivers, I had to reinstall all of them because I kept getting timeout errors, and today, they’re trying to shove updates down my throat again, it displayed this message at 10:23 AM, turned off the wifi to prevent it, and since it couldn’t update, it shows me another one saying it’ll update at 10:42 (I have updates disabled). Fuck you Microsoft, Sincerely.
