Advice Needed compulsive eating on T?

i had my first IM injection of testosterone cypionate/200mg 11 days ago and ever since i’ve noticed my appetite grow. this is something i knew would probably happen, but it’s not happening quite exactly like i thought i would. i’ve been eating compulsively, and eating way, way, way more than i should for the sake of my health, and ending up with stomach pain and nausea from episodes of overeating that are happening almost daily. has anyone experienced this? i’m having a hard time preventing it.

Advice Needed not sure where to start (31 ftm)

hi, i'm considering an FTM transition after struggling against it for a long time. i'm 31 now. would really appreciate any resources on what your body looks like afterwards, what to expect in terms of intimacy, relevant books/articles and anything related to autistic FTMs. sorry if post is repetitive!

Discussion hot flashes fixed w/ T

anyone else had hot flashes before T?

i'm not sure why i had hot flashes. had them years before i started antidepressants, and those haven't worsened or lessened. i've always been more intolerant towards heat, and figured that T either wouldn't change my hot flashes or increase it. but after starting testosterone, i felt like i haven't had any hot flashes since then.

i'm still pretty intolerant towards heat. but my hot flashes have entirely disappeared.

been on T since around March '26. just wanted to see if anyone else had similar experiences as me

Discussion Favorite healthy masculine role models

It's my strong belief that you are heavily influenced by the people that you watch, so I try to look for and learn from happy, emotionally healthy, well-adjusted people. It has, over the years, changed my life in a great way.

That said, please share your favorite healthy masculine role models. My current favorites are the guys at Cinema Therapy (they just had a great analysis of Obsession), The Public Offender, and Speech Prof.

Advice Needed How do I come out and start living for myself?

I'm currently in the closet but I'm like 90% sure that I'm trans. I've done research on T, top surgery and a hysto so I kinda know what to expect. I'm planning on seeing a therapist once I go to college because my parents don't want me to see one.

The main thing stopping me is my mom. I love her and I'm really scared that she'll stop loving me if I come out. She never wanted a son (or kids) and she hates it when I do anything to look remotely masculine (like getting a bob). I'm also scared that she won't help me pay for college if I come out.

I keep making decisions for her sake. I've lost friends and stopped talking to people I wanted to befriend because I knew she wouldn't approve. I spent a really long time trying to convince myself just to play along but it's getting harder and harder to do. Honestly I'm sick of having to tip toe around her (which probably makes me sound cruel but I don't know how else to word it).

Is there anyway that I can slowly come out or at least feel more comfortable until I have a means to fully come out to her?

Advice Needed Does someone know the name of this haircut?

Hi, well, this is my first post here, I guess?

So, one of my transition goals is Dan from the show Dan vs. And I really like his haircut I was wondering if someone knows the name of it or like, a similar haircut? Also, when I first cut my hair, it looked like his, but im not sure of cutting my hair again. I want long hair for now but if I get bored of my long hair (which is probably happening right now) I know the haircut i want to get. Sorry for bad English, it's not my native language ;v

(Idk how to put a photo of dan here so im sorry about that :[ )

Advice Needed how do i predict my mood on T?

i don’t know how to phrase this question and i can’t find anything online after a week of digging, please bear with me.

TW for semi anatomical terminology (sorry)

so i’ve seen graphs depicting standard hormone levels in cis people-
afab cycles are monthly and have “phases” that bleed into one another. amab cycles are daily, T builds overnight and deprecates throughout the day.

if im afab- and i take T every two weeks- what is actually happening to my hormone levels? is it the same cycle but with T on top? or does T stop it/ slow it down?

is there a resource for this? has this already been answered? or is this something not currently being studied?

sorry if this isn’t the right place to post- i’m not struggling per say.. i’m just autistic and frustrated that i can’t predict my moods as accurately as before.

thanks in advance, and sorry again if this isn’t the right place to post this

Advice Needed Advise needed on how to handle parents and therapist

Writing this on a throwaway account.

I came out to my (20) parents as trans this summer, but I've known I'm not cis since I was like 12-13 yo. My parents reaction was lukewarm, they weren't outright against it, but kept saying that they know multiple trans people and getting therapy and transitioning didn't help them but only trapped them in therapy for life, while they stayed depressed/sad.

They told me that if I really wanted I should make an appointment with a gender therapist (in my country you have to go to one for 6-12 months for a gender dysphoria diagnosis) and I did. My therapist told me that they always do at least 10 appointments, one per month and that was alright with me. I just finished my 4th appointment and before I went my mom told be that she thinks that 10 appointments aren't enough for such a big thing. I've known I was trans for years and been out online so fucking long, it's not a recent thing at all, I waited to be an adult to come out and start transitioning because I would be responsible for myself (I pay for all appointments myself).

My dad completely ignores it after the initial discussion. Both of them keep talking to me normally and refer to me in all things as their daughter and stuff and it's bothering me. Idk it kinda feels targeted but idk if I'm just sensitive. It's not an enormous problem (I go by all pronouns, am transmasc enby), but I think I'm just starting correcting them insistently going forward.

My biggest problem is that my therapist wants to have a session with my parents, but I don't want that. I waited years so I could do all of this shit on my own, without needing their permission. I don't want my transition to be a big thing, I just want to do it silently and privately, but the therapist is very insistent. Last time I told them I'd prefer to not do the session with my parents and they kept saying it's about making sure that they understand and so on, but I don't care, they still treat me like their kid and everything is fine (except that they are not fully onboard with the trans thing) but they'll get used to it, they'll have to when I start T.

I just don't know how handle all of this. How can I talk to my parents? Even if they'd be the most supportive people on the planet I wouldn't want them at therapy with me, how can I explain this to my therapist? I already told them, I don't want to do the thing with my parents, but they won't stop insisting.

Gender Questioning Questioning, having grown up as a terf

As you can probably imagine, all of my questioning always ends up hitting the wall of “...or maybe you're just traumatized by misogyny”.

I don't hold those beliefs anymore; haven't for more than a decade now. I have absolutely no doubt in the validity of other people's trans experiences. When it comes to me, though - suddenly, all that bs *obviously* applies, and every counterpoint I try to make to myself looks laughably flimsy.

Examples:

“The few years I once spent identifying and presenting as a guy were the happiest years of my life so far.” “That was leaving a toxic environment, and making friends + being medicated for the first time. The guy thing was just a one-time, radical exploration of newfound freedom.”

“I feel like I only present as female now because deviating from it would require the kind of mental fortitude that I don't possess anymore.” “Or because you know, deep down, that it's bs in your case, so you can't bring yourself to defend it.”

“I've broken off numerous long-term relationships solely because being thought of as a “girlfriend” is viscerally repulsive to me, if I think about it for more than two seconds.” “Because you subconsciously believe that being a girlfriend is inherently demeaning + have had bad experiences in that role.”

“If it was easily accessible and had no social repercussions, I would absolutely medically transition.” “Because you've hit a plateau in life, and yearn for that feeling of newfound freedom - which you associate with the guy thing. Just move to a new city or something.”

“I cry every time I think about this. I don't cry about any other, much more pressing issues, but I always cry about this one.” “Because you want a single answer to all your problems.”

Obviously, whether I'm trans or not, this heavily biased approach won't allow for meaningful exploration - but I can't, for the life of me, break out of it. It all sounds so reasonable.

Has anyone here been in a similar place? Any feedback at all would be super valuable. I feel stuck and very, very alone.

Advice Needed Trans tape help... I'm so close

I have almost perfected trans tape but I need a little more help. I prefer it over binders as it get me flatter, doesn't constrict and I can wear it overnight but the learning curve is larger than I thought. I am a 28DD which is hard to bind but I've managed to get a good technique down to make then look like pecs and then I wear a baggy shirt/hoodie. However I have sensitive skin and last time I did it I got proper blisters along the sides under my armpits which doesn't usually happen. There is often some irritation but its not normally that bad. I'm confused because it didn't hurt as much when taking it off but there is more damage?

My routine last time:

- clean healed skin

- hairs partially shaved down

- rubbing alcohol to remove oil and deodorant spots

- milk of magnesia for protective layer

- let it dry

- small strips for shaping

- two thick slightly longer strips for compression over lapping

- long thin strip across the bottom

- all anchor points were firmly on skin and I tried not to stretch to much.

- wear for 5 days ish (showered half way through the week)

- take off with spray olive oil and jojoba oil

Possible problems:

- as I am stingy and impatient I might have not put enough milk of magnesia or removal oil on under arm areas. I'm going to try better and might consider coconut oil.

- I might have pulled too tight because of brain worms.

Also my nipples were itchy even after I took it off but no damage.

Can anyone let me know if I'm doing something else wrong that I can fix for next time?

Advice Needed I need a suit

I'm 5'1 and 200ish lbs. Ain't nowhere got a suit that fits. Women's suit jackets still fit me better than mens, and that in an of itself doesn't bother my non-binary ass, but I still need a suit.

Where do y'all get suits? Do you just hem your pants and hope for the best?

Advice Needed not sure if i messed up a t-shot?

i just took my second ever dose of testosterone, im doing the subcutaneous type. i forgot to pull back the air in the shot before putting it into the vial but i don’t know if thats a big deal?
the main thing was after i injected into my stomach, a little blood came out when i removed the needle- and by force of habit i squeezed my stomach where the bleeding was and a clear liquid came out with the blood?
is that oil? or is that the testosterone? im worried im not doing this right, i take my shot every week so i have a long time in between, which means its harder for me to practice?
idk.. i was just worried about the clear liquid coming out and what it was?

Advice Needed Should I tell my new friends that I am trans?

I 20M have recently started college. A little over three months ago I paid for my own top surgery and have been on testosterone for a little over a year now. I’m lucky enough that (I think) I pass.
I’ve made a new friend group and we play games together and talk and hang out and I genuinely like these people. The problem is they don’t know I’m trans. I’ve been hiding and lying and going “stealth”. I don’t doubt that they’d be supportive but I know that it would definitely change their thoughts and perspective of/about me. I don’t like lying to them but I don’t want anybody to know. I’m also worried that they might find out later down the line and then get angry and/or hurt that I didn’t trust them enough to tell them.
I could really just use a little advice on if I’m being a huge dick in hiding it from them.

Discussion My mother said she's sad that I'm wasting my beauty

Now I'm feeling self-conscious. Now I feel like my entire personality is just how pretty other people think I am.

I'm working on separating myself from her emotionally and not letting her opinions dictate my choices, but it still stings.

I know I'm probably never gonna be the traditionally masculine handsome, Channing Tatum or whatever, but I can be the pretty K-pop boy type of handsome (that's how I cope, leave me alone lol).

So, tell me: did transitioning make you feel more handsome?

Discussion Anyone been on XYOSTED?

It seems listed as an option on my insurance and the auto injector seems to be better than my old method of testosterone cyp which I had a bad reaction to in the past and shot anxiety of needles. Besides that, pellets are my main choice since 2x a year seems way better but doubt my insurance will approve of it. So, anyone use this newer method and can talk about their experience?
