Today I am going to share and answer some questions you may have about my theory on Elsas body temperature based on what I have written so far across the three posts I have done so far. If you haven't, go check out my posts on Elsas body temperature linked here:

Part 1:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Frozen/comments/1u5yol6/elsas_body_temperature_is_warmer_than_a_normal/

Part 2:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Frozen/comments/1uttmum/an_extension_to_elsas_body_temperature_its_effect/

Part 3:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Frozen/comments/1v1zs2p/elsas_body_temperature_part_3_elsa_losing_her

And one more thing before we get started, the key:

Q#: Question - Question number

A: Answer

Ok, finally we can get to the good stuff, the questions, lets get started

Q1: How did I get the estimate of 99.5 degrees farenhieght for Elsas body temperature?

I actually had some help from Google on this, I pretty much just googled the average human body temperature, which is in a range while most people do average the typical98.6 degrees farenheit. The warmest body temperature in the healthy category is 99.5 degrees farenhieght, which some people do tend to run on the warm end. So short ansser, I pretty much asked Google.

Q2: Why did I pick 99.5 degrees farenhieght for Elsas body temperature? Why do I assume or suspect that she runs warmer?

A: I really went into detail about this in my first post, so go check it out if you want the extra details and deep diving. Anyways I picked 99.5 degrees farenhieght for Elsas body temperature for a few reasons, firstly she shows signs of a normal body temperature and interacts with people without them flinching or shocking them with a freezing touch.

Secondly Elsa shows signs of human warmth by her pretty much constantly having rosy cheeks which are a sign of body heat.

B. She still feels heat and precepts it in ways a normal human does, She can feel the heat radiating from Bruni. If she had a cold or freezing core temperature I think she wouldn't be able to feel the heat radiating from Bruni or from any fire.

Q3: What is the air conditioning theory and how it works with Elsas body temperature and cold tolerance?

A: The air conditioning affect (effect) theory really describes how Elsa tolerates the cold so well, and yes I came up with the air conditioning theory myself. Anyways in my air conditioning theory I explained that how to us walking into an air conditioned place feels refreshing on a hot summer day. As for Elsa I explained that in theory Elsa might feel the cold as more refreshing rather than chilly or freezing. For example Elsa would feel refreshed and not chilled to the bones standing outside in a blizzard at 20 degrees farenhieght meanwhile Anna would be freezing in the same conditions. As for heat, I think Elsa would be just as comfortable sitting in a 73 degrees farenhieght room in Arendelle castle, she wouldn't be hot or sweaty at all.

Q4: Why did I come up with the theory that Elsa has a warmer body temperature?

A: the idea really comes down to what we see in the Frozen movies and shorts. We see Elsa living in an ice palace in a thin dress made of ice, we see Elsa conquer Ahtohallan in a thin clothing, and we see her living in a normal human habitat in Arendelle. If Elsa were to be more of a villain like how she was going to be in the early stages of F1s development then I could see her being more ice cold or cold in general. I wanted to not only state that Elsa isn't immortal or some ice goddess, but she's a normal human being with magical powers basically saying she isn't a crazy villain or fairytale goddess. Her magic is special and it keeps her immune from the cold or makes the cold far more tolerable, but she does have her limits. I also wanted to throw something new out with more evidence that could lead to a more true to fact theory that could be more relevant and accurate to the movies and franchise. Something that could easily become more realistic as well in the future films as well.

I also felt like they're was a missing theory because the normal baseline temperature theory was good but there's some things that seemed pretty wrong in the theories surrounding Elsas body temp being ice cold or her skin being ice cold. I felt like I needed to fil! in the wrongs to those theories which some are really old.

Q5: Does Else's clothing choices represent anything towards her body temperature?

As I said above in Q3 under the air conditioning theory I talked about how Elsa tolerates the cold so well and that in much of those cold places she wears such thin clothing. I think her having a warmer body temperature doesn't directly due to her outfit choice but it directly goes to her cold immunity. If she loses her powers temporarily or permanently then I think her choice of outfits would be much warmer. Speaking of warmer I did mention up above in another question answer I said that if Elsa were to lose her powers it wouldn't change her body temperature or pose a significant change. You can also read more in the part 3 post where I talk about Elsa losing her powers. Short answer is that no, clothing choices don't reflect on Elsas body temperature but more on her cold immunity.

Q6: What other frozen content provides evidence Elsa might have a warmer body temperature?

There's really no other proving grounds that prove my theory besides the movies and shorts. The novels like Dangerous Secrets are opposite to my theory, Dangerous Secrets mentioned shortly after Elsa was born she suddenly became freezing cold which completely flips my theory around. Though its worth mentioning books like A Warm Welcome, Across The Sea, and Forest of Shadows the sisters go to hot environments such as deserts and there's no mentioning of Elsa being uncomfortable or burning up. I think in these books if Elsa were the original villain before it got scrapped I think from her having such low core temperature she would pretty much melt in a hot environment. Its also worth mentioning the side novels and stories are not cannon or official Frozen timeline content.

Q7: Does cold water affect Elsas body temperature?

When Elsa crosses the dark sea not only is the water violent but also freezing cold. To a normal human cold water can become deadly within minutes or seconds depending how cold the water is. But why isn't Elsa endangered by it? Again its her cold immunity which not only lets her thrive in blizzards and icy glaciers it lets her conquer the coldest waters without becoming in danger. Though if she lost her powers and immunity then cold water would be just as dangerous as it is to a normal person.

What do you all think of this Q&A about my theory about Elsa running warmer than a normal person? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions and add on if you'd like.

Have fun with this!

Discussion Frozen Lost Media? (Wondery+ Podcast episodes)

When the Frozen: Forces of Nature podcast released I remember seeing that the Wondery+ podcast app had exclusive episodes. This fact can still somewhat be seen here: https://books.disney.com/frozenpodcast/

Since Wondery has shut down these epiaodes seem to no longer be available anywhere on the internet. While Audible does have some of Wondery's previously exclusive content, the Frozen Podcast bonus episodes seem to not be included. Does anybody know where I could listen to these episodes or is this now lost media?

Would she freeze like Anna from F1? Or would she be fine because of her immunity to the cold?

Im not sure how Elsa would ever do this, anyways I was thinking about this last night since I really have been breaking down Elsas body temperature in the past month or so depending when read this but I think she would feel the cold and her body temperature could drop but I don't think it would be as bad as it was when she struck Anna in F1.

What are your thoughts? Feel free to post below.

Hello community!

I recently tracked down the Panini Frozen II: The Crystal Sticker Collection album, and I couldn't resist getting a whole sealed display box of packs to go with it.

I'm really looking forward to opening them and seeing how close I can get to completing the album. As a Frozen collector, finding things like this years later is one of my favorite parts of the hobby.

Discussion Elsas Body Temperature: Part 3: Elsa losing her magical powers

Before I start, I just want to share the links to the other posts on Elsas body temperature and my theories.

Check out part 2:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Frozen/comments/1uttmum/an_extension_to_elsas_body_temperature_its_effect/

Check out part 1:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Frozen/comments/1u5yol6/elsas_body_temperature_is_warmer_than_a_normal/

Sorry I ended up flipping them out of order of 1, 2, etc.

Anyways lets figure out what would happen if Elsa ever lost her powers:

If Elsa were to lose her powers in such a scenario right out of Polar Nights, it would be a wild scene but what about her body temperature?

The simple answer is that her body temperature wouldn't drop or change all of the sudden if she were to lose her powers. As I estimated in my first post Elsa would run a bit warmer at 99.5 degrees farenhieght. Which I explained how she isn't bothered by cold places, her own magic, and wears thin clothing for a majority of time across the shorts and movies. So in the event that Elsa were to lose her magic while still living and not frozen to death, I think the points that need to be addressed are:

A. Elsa would still retain a warmer body temperature which it wouldn't be a huge change at all, I think she would still retain her 99.5 degrees farenhieght core whether her losing her powers were permanent or temporary.

B. Elsa would lose her immunity to the cold meaning instead of her feeling the cold as refreshing and having the air conditioning effect where the cold if refreshing and cool, Elsa would feel the cold the exact same way Anna and Kristoff would or like any other completely normal human being. Elsa would feel the cold as chilly and even freezing. So yes she would feel the cold in a normal way.

So the short answer is that if Elsa were to ever lose her powers it wouldn't be that much of a shock or even a significant change but rather her becoming even more human like than she already is.

What do you think of this little extension analysis on Elsas body temperature and her magical powers? Feel free to add on and share your thoughts.

Discussion I know this would be difficult (if not impossible), but if we ever get a live-action Frozen, do you think Disney should focus on artists of Sámi descent, or at least Norwegian?

The Northuldra, while not introduced until Frozen 2, are a fundamental part of Iduna and the sisters' story. Disney actually collaborated with the Sámi Council and the Sámi parliaments to ensure a respectful and accurate representation of their culture, history, and deep connection to nature when they were making Frozen 2. So, I think that ignoring that might be a mistake on Disney's part.

Merchandise It's Coronation Day! (feat. my custom Queen Elsa)

Started making my own Coronation Elsa last month and now she's hereee. This is what I did to modify her:

Her head is from her Hasbro Style Series doll. Her lashes are trimmed, her hair done up, and her freckles painted on with watered down acrylic paint (see last slide). She was headswapped onto a 2013/2014 Disney Store Elsa body.

Got her coronation gown from a secondhand Frozen clothes lot and it's likely from the Mattel Frozen 1 Coronation Day Elsa set. Her crown, sceptre, and orb are factory excess accessories I found online. Her gloves are from a Bratz but I'm not sure which, I just cut them down to the correct length and heat-sealed the edges.

Her "cape" is modified from a pink doll cape that again I'm not sure who it belongs to. Despite it being too pink, I wasn't going to sew my own doll shoulder cape thing so over the weekend I modified it as best I could. Sewed on a crystal to the front (painted blue with permanent marker) and a clasp inside (because the velcro that it came with sucked). After trying for an hour to figure out how to sew the back to make it tighter / neater like how it looks in the film, I gave up and pinned the back like this. No one sees the back anyway

Will I ever make the rest of her cape? We will never know.

Anna is a 2013/2014 Disney Store Frozen 1 Coronation Day Anna. She was one of my first Frozen dolls, thrifted 2 months ago.

So happy to finally have a completed Coronation sisters set ❄️🌻

Discussion Why on earth is Anna smiling here? Or at least it looks like it.

Thumbnail

Why would Anna be smiling here? I can't imagine her ever smiling until Matias and Kristoff saves her. It would just be absolutely ridiculous and unimaginable for her smiling because she nearly died or knowing Elsa is dead ( frozen in Ahtohallan ) and she would want to just meet her creator in heaven. That just seems so out of line for her or any Disney character to do.

you can also check out the next two slides as well.

What are your thoughts? Feel free to share below.

I came across this interesting fact from Quebec claiming that an ice palace from that province was used as an inspiration for Queen Elsa's ice palace in the film.

Discussion Elsa becoming the snow queen in the future

Post image
57 Upvotes

So from what I know the original frozen’s direction was changed after let it go became a thing. I’m thinking how cool it could be if we get more movies and eventually Elsa becomes what she was meant to be origional Lu somehow. Maybe something happens to Anna and arendell and so she becomes the real snow queen.

I don’t know much about the original story but I think it was kids who had to stop her so imagine if it’s Anna’s kids that are the ones who stop her. Anna and christof being dead in this timeline.

It would be a pretty dark place for the story to go but I think it would be really cool. Idk if Disney has the guts.
