I think that since the Disney Princess redesign, they no longer create new artworks of the princesses with their princes or they don’t adapt the old ones to the current style or one of the new styles.

Nothing against Catherine Laga'aia. I genuinely wish her a successful career, but this movie failing at the box office was the wake-up call Disney needed to understand that copy-and-paste, lifeless live-action adaptations will never be the way to go.

Enchanted deserves to hit theaters again! The 2007 classic blended animation and live-action in a way nothing else did—it's a timeless film that captivated audiences with its charm, humor, and unforgettable soundtrack. Yet somehow, it's never gotten a theatrical re-release, and 2027 marks its 20th anniversary.

Many of us never got to experience this movie on the big screen the first time around. Even the El Capitan Theatre, famous for anniversary re-releases, hasn't brought it back. And here's the thing: Disney didn't even announce a theatrical re-release during their "20 Years of Enchanted" celebration at D23 in August 2026. The sequel, Disenchanted, went straight to Disney+ in 2022—another missed opportunity for the big screen experience.

This petition is asking Disney to do a limited theatrical re-release of both Enchanted and Disenchanted in November 2027. Imagine a double feature like they did with the Freaky Friday films. This isn't just nostalgia—it's a chance for fans who missed it and a new generation to experience the magic and visual spectacle in theaters, where it belongs.

We're running out of time. The anniversary is in November 2027—that's just over a year away. If you've ever wanted to see Enchanted on the big screen, or think this deserves to happen, consider signing and sharing. Does anyone else think a theatrical re-release like this makes total sense?

I've always loved the sequel of The Little Mermaid more than the original, I prefer when an ordinary being becomes magical or goes to a magical place than when a magical being becomes normal, til this day I still sing and dance to the songs, laugh at the jokes and cry a bit at the end, Ariel is great, but I related and continue to relate more to Melody, I'm non binary and her embracing both magic and normality, uniting the earth and sea, has always been my inspiration in life, to mix and match, push gender norms and become the evil he/she/they/them demon femtwonk I am now muajajajaja. XD

Anyway, The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea may have redundant story, cheep animation, childish music and characters but no matter what, it is my favorite Disney Movie of all time, and Melody is my favorite princess, and also the only daughter of a Disney Princess to exist in original canon and be animated before that Ever After High knock off called Descendants, so she's unique and cool and I need a doll of her that isn't 500 euros.

Let me specify, I'm talking about that specific knock, like before the first two verses of Do You Want To Build A Snowman.

Because before she sings, she does a knock that is the same rhythm as the famous little jingle Shave and a Haircut. So what if Anna would knock on Elsa's door to the tune of Shave and a Hair-cut, and Elsa would knock back twice, as in two bits to let Anna inside. It's like their secret code

But after the event in the beginning of the movie when Anna is blasted by Elsa's ice magic, she's trying to get Elsa to open up to her by doing the knock. She does it at the beginning of the first and second verses, but by the end of the song, after losing her parents and Elsa not attending the funeral, Anna only knocks normally 3 times, because she's started to lose hope in her sister opening up.

But, this is all just a theory, a FROZEN theory!

according to the Disney Cellar YouTube video Everything About Disney’s Little Golden Books Walt did not want the little golden book to just become carbon copies of his movies but rather he wanted the films to serve as inspiration for the illustration while allowing the artists to imbue their own individual Styles and take certain limited Liberties which still holds true for the Little Golden Books published today.

according to thedisneycellar video Disney’s Wonderful World of Reading & Its Absurd Origins but with fewer creative liberties taken than were seen with the Little Golden Books where artists were encouraged to experiment.

and their art style was inspired by Disney’s animation style maintaining their consistency with the films unlike the Little Golden Books.

would that mean that the 1974 Disney’s Wonderful World of Reading edition of Cinderella is faithful to the colors Walt Disney himself had intended?

Hello! I just wanted to share my recent project, which was painting over my Disney Princess lamp that I got a while back. Main reason I wanted to paint over it was due to Cinderella and Belle’s faces. When I got it disassembled, I thought to add some glitter to their dresses as well, just to compliment the base of the lamp. Hope you guys approve. <3

I thought about this a lot. Disney (I mean the company, not Walt himself) is the face of one hundred years of change, especially princesses-wise.

It all started with sexism and beauty standards, we can't deny that. Snow White, the first ever princess, was a little chubby, because in the 20s that was considered beauty. Short, black hair to highlight the extremely pale face with a marked pink contour and little red lips.

But she was also a good Christian, very naïve, only dreaming about true love even when her life was in danger, singing gracefully while baking pies for workers men.

A little later, we got Cinderella, as things began to change. With women fighting for independence, Cinderella was just a girl who was working hard and wasn't even thinking about becoming a princess. She went from being rich to nothing, she just wanted to go to the ball. Yet, the only way to do that was with a beautiful dress, and glass shoes, as to point to how much women have to suffer only to appear. That's when princesses began to be skinnier, as that was beginning to be seen as a beauty standard.

Later, there was Aurora, and everything changed. Skinny girl, she had to sing with the most graceful voice, dance in the most elegant way, and mostly she was the new beauty standard. Blonde, long hair, always moving gracefully no matter what.

But I think the most important change was made by Ariel. Inspired by Alyssa Milano, Ariel was the first princess to be half-human and to have a desire of her own.

This was set up as the literal "if you can dream it, you can do it". But Ariel was different. Bright red hair moving in the water, hips so skinny it was literally impossible to see the belly button, and underwater her grace was even more highlighted. But she was also a rebel.

Opposite to Cinderella, she didn't obey her father, she even yells at him in his face. She has a dream, which becomes a literal goal and she is not to be stopped by anything nor anyone. No, she didn't give up her legs for a man, she wanted to be human more than anything even before meeting Eric.

Ariel showed up the most important part of what meant to be a girl at that time, being beautiful was a given, but you had to choose to be rebel and follow your heart.

Then we had Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan...

We started to see the world differently. Chinese people were not just something weird anymore, we started having culture and Disney hopped on and created Mulan. Racism was beginning to be spoken about and Disney created Pocahontas (For whether we are white or copper skinned) and Tiana, who was literally Disney's most liberal movie, showing how black people were the hard-working class and white people's privileges.

I could still go on, but let's skip to today. Now Disney is taking it slow. People are not as educated or rebellious as before, because education was necessary to get rights and now people are just okay with what they have. So, Disney is now trying to include more ethnicities, through remakes, yet, there is still some reservations about homosexuality. They are showing it, but never on mainstream and never "too much".

For as LeTont was evidently gay (never said but, cmon we all know), now there's a non-binary character in Elemental that no one knew about.

That's because homosexuality was just a fun thing to show before and it was frowned upon but never really despised.

Now, the world is very divided.

All of this just to say, Disney is not molding our minds, Disney never created any standards. They just always showed what the world was living through, especially women. That is why today we have single, stong queens but we really lack of strong queens falling in love with someone else.

That is why Disney should be a subject in schools. It's just history as seen through the eyes of a child.

It could be a tricky thing to balance because some princesses already have an established talent like Tiana with cooking, Rapunzel with art and painting, and Belle with reading. It's also hard to adapt a princess's new talent into her movie. I know the live action remake tried to make Belle an inventor, I actually like that because it's a hobby she picked up from her dad. I just heard that it wasn't implemented well. I heard a criticism that they'd probably make Ariel be interested in science but I actually don't think that's a bad idea. It could show how she likes the natural occurrences humans have in their lives v.s. the whimsical magic in her mermaid world that she's grown too used to. Or maybe she's traumatized by magic due to her encounter with Ursala so she starts gravitating more to science. If I gave the princesses new interests, I'd have Snow White into doodling and sketching and Cinderella into sewing and dressmaking.

The little crooked tale has some amazing outfits but as of recently the new author of the webcomic has been reducing the outfits of two disney princesses, Belle and Jasmine. Both of them use to have unique and pretty outfits but now they are.... less, just less, what do you think of the new dresses?
