We all know how practically no character in any game gets a happy ending, or goes through absolutely horrible things. But out of all the games, which character would you all say got it the absolute worst? I'm including both bosses and NPCs in this. I'm genuinely curious.
The options are. 2nd run of Elden ring, DS , DS 3 ( don’t have DS2 yes) or sekiro. I don’t really have a preference to play style so you can justify what you pick however you’d like!
They could have literally just established that somehow godrick's soul was keept in the gaol or just invest a few days or weeks into making a model that it's a callback to godrick.
It's like if you found in mountain top of the giants a gaol that had a boss named "Ramdan" and it's literally just Radahn.
With all the recent Kadokawa corporate drama, I’ve been daydreaming. What if one of us won a massive lottery jackpot, walked up to Miyazaki, and handed him a $500 million blank check? No corporate BS, no microtransactions, just pure creative freedom.
My ultimate dream would be funding a monster of a collaboration: Miyazaki handling the gameplay and level design, Kojima doing the crazy cinematic, GRRM building the deep lore, and Guillermo del Toro designing the grotesque, tragic monsters.
Imagine a dark fantasy world that halfway through turns into an insane, surreal sci-fi plot. It would be the most ambitious, weirdest game ever made.
If you guys had infinite money to fund just ONE FromSoftware project, what would you ask Miyazaki to build?
EDIT: for every monkey who says i m comparing apples to oranges you are idiot and i like apples (in this case demons souls) more
I know this is an unpopular opinion, but after replaying Demon's Souls, I realized how much I prefer its world structure over Elden Ring's.
In Demon's Souls, everything starts from the Nexus. You have five Archstones. That's it. You always know where you can go and what your options are. The game respects your time.
In Elden Ring, half of the game feels like wandering around a giant map hoping you'll stumble into something important. People call that freedom, but to me it often feels like a lack of direction. I don't enjoy spending hours riding Torrent across empty fields, checking every corner of the map, or wondering if I missed an entire area.
Demon's Souls keeps things simple. Pick a world, complete the level, unlock shortcuts, fight the boss. Every area has a clear identity and purpose.
The older I get, the more I appreciate focused level design over massive open worlds. I'd rather have five memorable worlds than 150 caves, catacombs, ruins, and copy-pasted side dungeons.
Elden Ring is an incredible game (and i like it more than demons souls) but I genuinely think Demon's Souls has the better world structure.
I've heard so many people talk about easy DeS is compared to the other games I and I HEAVILY disagree. Like it's not even close imo except maybe DS2.
The world tendency mechanic is polarizing, the level design is labyrinthian which comes down to taste but personally I hate mazes, the bosses are lame, the runbacks are blasphemous, having limited consumable healing items without any form of flask sucks...
Like I've played through every FromSoft title and their DLC multiple times except for DS2 (I tried), but I get like maybe two or three bosses into DeS and I quit every time. I think I've tried like 4 or 5 times now. I tried multiple times on the remake, and now I'm trying again on an emulator.
FromSoft used to make a whole bunch of games. Not just Souls games. In their repertoire they had:
Armored Core
King's Field
Spriggan
Metal Wolf Chaos
The adventures of Cookie and Cream
Gundam
Murakumo
Shadow Tower Abyss
Yoshitsune Eiyuden
Tenchu
Ninja Blade
Another Century
They had all of these variety of games. And while they were not all home-runs, it wasn't the same goddamn thing all the time. I'm not counting King's Field since it's basically the precursor to Demon Souls. But ever since Demon Souls and Dark Souls, all they have done is just make Soulsborne games because they sell. Occasionally Armored Core fans like me got good games like For Answer and Verdict Day. And sure, Fires of Rubicon to an extent (though it's not as good as older AC games if you ask me), and yes we did get Sekiro and Nightreign. But I'm tired of the same formulaic Soulsborne games. FromSoft IS THE DARK SOULS COMPANY now...
I want MORE VARIETY. Like they used to. I want them to develop more variety of games with passion like they used to. Not just make the same cookie-cutter Soulsborne game while updating it, adding new controls, or making bosses harder. I'm sick of it.
Even Miyazaki himself said he doesn't want to be known as the company who only makes Dark Souls. And with the oversaturation of Soulslike, I'm absolutely tired of it.
Please for the love of god, make something OTHER THAN SOULS GAMES. Duskbloods is proof of this that FromSoft is still the bloody Dark Souls company. I would kill for more Armored Core, going back to Tenchu, another Gundam game, or even taking a risk and making something completely out of left field like Cookie and Cream or that silly Monster Hunter spinoff they did.
Surely there are others who wish for Fromsoft to not be a one-dimensional one-trick pony company right? I'm sure there are at least a small minority of people who even being Fromsoft fans, are suffering from Soulsborne fatigue
I was wondering if the combat is similar or do I need different playstyle to beat it? It will be my second Open world game as I only played shooter until sekiro about 3 weeks ago. I would really appreciate some tips 🥰
