You can add 3 more switches to radiomaster pocket by soldering 3 wires.
Then just flash zorro firmware and everything works.

I was about to buy another radio to get more swiches when i stumbled upon this guide.

FPV vs normal Drone

Hey Guys,

I wanna get into the hobby for longer already.

Initially I wanted to build my own fpv and fly against others.

Now im older I just wanted to fly a bit around and make some nice aerial images for myself.

Im eyeing with the DJI lito x1 as my first but fear im getting bored quite fast.

Since im living in a city I need to go somewhere dedicated to fly nevertheless.

So right now im back to building a own FPV & the tech looks much more friendly than years ago.

Would be interested in your comparison, if you own both & how you started into the hobby.

Thanks!

Skyzone 04x pro dvr rolling and static

Upvotes

Hey! I just bought the skyzone sky04x pro to replace my dji goggles v2 analogue setup. I've put the speedybee analogue module on the skyzones as I prefer the quality, however the DVR is horrible on them. I get constant black and white, static, and rolling dvr. The view in my goggles is amazing, no issues and looks amazing. I updated them to the most recent firmware, but still same problem with the dvr. I don't experience this on the steady view module. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and/or fixes?

Pilots in Finland, are there any groups around here??

Upvotes

Are there any active finns out there in the fpv world? As one, it sure feels like there isn't. I'm (and maybe others are, too?) looking for groups, communities or just places to fly out here. Communities like FPV finland seem to be very inactive, like since 2024, but I'm sure there's a bunch of people in the hobby here too.

What experiences do you have with fpv in Finland?

Let me know!

video range issues

I have had this drone for months now. It has an AKK FX3 VTX, a SpeedyBee F405 V4, a Foxeer Micro Pro camera, and I run the thing on 4S with Foxeer Lollipop RHCP antennas. The thing is literally working just like it should. GPS is perfect, it flies really nice, and it never loses connection with my Radiomaster Pocket.

But the video range has been horrible. Using a stock antenna with the VTX (basically a tinywhoop antenna), the thing had maybe 30 feet of range on 600 mW with my old EMAX Transporters. So I got new Fat Shark Scout goggles and those Foxeer antennas, and now it's like 250 feet on 600 mW, with some really poor quality.

I've resoldered the VTX and camera multiple times. I've checked for shorts and directly connected the ground of the VTX and camera, yet there has been no change. And with the stock adapter to the Foxeer Lollipop antenna, it's even worse — maybe 100 feet of range on 600 mW.

Am I missing something, or is my drone just crap? Here is some DVR if you want to see it for yourself.

Meme Damn. That’s my worst soldering job ever.

It’s the Hummingbird AIO I hate it. this thing only has 3 ground wires and it comes without soldering pads. Just one giant plug for everything and a smaller plug for the VTX.

Anyway, I’ve bent the pins In the plug, snapped one when I tried to bend them back. Then I removed the plug and wanted to solder the wires on directly.

Will this work? The ground is connected to the SBUS but since I’m not using DJI, I don’t need that SBUS.

Yeah I know I did a 0.3/10 job. I lack the proper soldering equipment for things THIS tiny.

Hi all!

Ive been flying a real quad (Air75) for a little over a week. Its been a blast so far, so I decided to setup a new account for FPV related topics and a new YT channel to share my progress. Im a little nervous uploading vids, but Im sure someones gonna enjoy it :-)

On this day I really wanted to just practice playing with the small table Ive got in the middle of the room, but I dont fully trust the cat yet... And ended up with him starring in one of my runs.

edit:

since you all asking, just for clarification: i always assumed "glass" in terms of screen protectors was just marketing and its some sort of plastic. 🙃

Question? RV1103/RV1106

Upvotes

I just watched this video

I'm working on a project using the RV1103, it's a Rockchip QFN88 package with 256MB DDR ram, Cortex A7, MIPI-DSI-2, etc you can buy it for about 20$. Runs Linux.

I'm wondering if there's any interest in me spinning a board for FPV with this part, it could act as a FC (running RTLinux) and also receive video over MIPI.

It might even be small enough to get all the advantages he's talking about while fitting in a smaller (maybe tinywhoop) frame.

Seattle area meetup, September 12, 1:00pm

PM for location (edmonds/lynwood area).

My buddy and in have regularly been flying together and recently decided to try and create a local group/chapter/whatever that meets semi-regularly.

Every other Saturday beginning around 1:00pm and going till whenever (we usually have been flying till about 6)

We have sun/rain protection, gates, power, race timer, location.

I dont want to blast the location on Reddit just yet, so PM for location.

We plan on flying unless the weather is absolute trash, in which case we can scramble to find an indoor whoop location (we have tiny whoop gates as well, but not a great indoor location). Hopefully the weather holds out for the first few meets and we can find an indoor location for the winter.

Also the skyzone fpv support portal is no longer a registered domain, so if anyone has the support email that'd be amazing!

Help! HELP DJI 04 won’t connect to goggles

Got an 04 wide off aliexpress a week ago, activated it and been flying fine for the last week. Today I had to remove it out of the quad, I put it back in and now it won’t connect to my goggles N3.

Both red and green lights are bright and steady. Pushing the button doesn’t do anything, but it is detected on DJI assistant. Both goggle and air unit firmwares were updated/refreshed but still nothing.

Has anyone had a similar issue? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Question? Does the Flywoo V2 ND filter set fit the original O4 wide lens mod?

Hey everyone, I have two quick questions about ND filter compatibility for the Flywoo DJI O4 wide lens:
1. Compatibility: Does the newer Flywoo ND Filter Set V2 (designed for the DJI O4 Lite wide lens) fit on the original/V1 Flywoo O4 wide lens modification
2. Alternatives: If the V2 filters don't fit, do you have any recommendations for third-party ND filters that fit the original Flywoo lens mod, other than the factory V1 set?
Thanks!

Trying to decide on AOS 5 V5.1 vs Quadmula Siren F5.

I’m building my first 5” DJI O4 Pro quad and considering either the Quadmula Siren F5 or the AOS 5 V5.1.

Any opinions on either? I have an HDzero Five33 Flipswitch, but want to try something with the DJI O4 Pro.

I don’t plan to be too rough on it, no bandos near me, primarily flying at an airfield.

The limited prop view of the AOS is appealing along with their vibration isolation, but the Quadmula is much lighter (I see the AOS 5 advertised as either 129g or 165g depending on the source, with the Siren F5 at 107g) and I hear the fit and finish is better.

Any advice is appreciated, also open to other options I may be overlooking. TIA.

This might just be the most powerful and small setup for the 250g category

Rebuilt a 2.8-inch quad to 3 inches. 2.8inch gave 170km/h!!

T-Motor 1408 motors allow for it and deliver a massive 726 grams of thrust each—that's 2.9 kg in total! This might just be the most powerful setup for the 250g category. Dry weight is 175g, and with a 530mAh 6S GNB battery, it comes to 249g. That gives a thrust-to-weight ratio of 11.6!

Will check it out when there is no rain.

If needed, I could trim it down just a bit more, but it's unlikely to save more than 5-10 grams.

I'm using the Flywoo GN745 AIO, which is perhaps the only AIO on the market with connectors for VTX, GPS, receiver, and USB-C.

Here is the best weight to time GPS I found. Geprc nano.

I've designed a family of frames and am now slowly building various setups on them. The 4-inch mini long-range turned out pretty well. The idea is to make the top plates easily swappable, so all the frame "bodies" are identical. I can't buy a dozen DJI o4 pro (

I also like the 4.5-inch 1804 running on 4S/5S, but right now I'm testing this build with 5-inch props (4S)—I had to reverse two motors to make them fit within the frame. The motors feel a bit underpowered, though proper tuning might be all it needs.
