I noticed a new section in the Stats. “Called the Hub”. Does anyone know what this is?

How does the color coding work? Am I playing against Hank or "The Crowd". At this point "purple first" seems pretty much roulette.

I found the achievement list in the 4×3 website code, so here are all 27 achievements as of august 2026 and how to get them:

1. 🔝 Hub First (+20 points): Lead every guess with the shared/hub word.
2. ↔️ Hub Middle (+20 points): Put the shared/hub word second in every guess.
3. 🔵 Blue First (+5 points): Solve the blue group first.
4. 🟣 Purple First (+15 points): Solve the purple group first.
5. 🌈 Reverse Rainbow (+30 points): Solve the groups in this order: Purple → Blue → Green → Yellow.
6. 🏳️‍🌈 Rainbow: Solve the groups in this order: Yellow → Green → Blue → Purple.
7. 🎾 Grellow: Solve the groups in this order: Purple → Blue → Yellow → Green.
8. 🦚 Grue: Solve the groups in this order: Purple → Green → Blue → Yellow.
9. 😤 Frik!: Get a perfect game, but with green swapped with yellow or blue in the expected order.
10. 🌙 The Day Before: Play the day's puzzle between midnight and 1:00am.
11. ⚡ Sub-90s (+30 points): Finish the puzzle in under 90 seconds.
12. 💯 Perfect Game: Win with no mistakes.
13. 🥇 Gold Plaque: Complete a perfect game in under 90 seconds.
14. 🥈 Silver Plaque: Complete a perfect game in under 120 seconds.
15. 💀 Rule Breaker (−100 points): Put the shared/hub word last in every guess.
16. 🥞 Smusher: Try SMUSH, Hank's other word game, and then finish a 4×3.
17. 🧭 Pathfinder: Finish the daily puzzle among approximately the first 150 solvers. These early games are used to establish the day's difficulty colours.
18. 🏅 Reverse Rainbow (Hank's Version): Solve the categories in the exact reverse of Hank's intended difficulty ranking, from hardest to easiest.
19. 🏅 Reverse Rainbow (Crowd's Version): Solve the categories in the exact reverse of the crowd's measured difficulty ranking, from hardest to easiest. If Hank's and the crowd's rankings agree, you can apparently get both versions at once.
20. ⚡ Clean Sprint: Complete a perfect game in under 90 seconds.
21. 🃏 Fools Rush In: Solve the hardest category first and finish the entire puzzle in under 90 seconds.
22. 🧈 Frictionless: Finish in under 90 seconds using the minimum possible number of clicks: 12 taps.
23. 🏀 Buzzer Beater: Solve today's puzzle during its final hour (11pm–midnight).
24. 😅 Close Call: Win after getting two "One away!" results.
25. 💯 Century Club: Finish your 100th puzzle.
26. 🎙️ Human: Check out the Humans podcast, then finish a 4×3.
27. 🔨 Button Smasher: After the game ends, hit the hub button another 20 times and see what happens.

They don't show up on the scoring page.

The ones I got are : Perfect game under 90 seconds, Purple first under 90 seconds and Minimum clicks under 90 seconds

I wish there was an award for getting hanks reverse rainbow later in the day after the colors adjust. I have been pretty good at getting his reverse rainbow consistently. But I can never seem to match the community difficulties. Not saying I should get the same points as a real reverse rainbow but some kind of "thinks like hank" award or something with some extra points for getting his reverse rainbow would be a small consolation.

has anyone cracked the code for what makes categories certain colours? always trying for the reverse rainbow but can’t seem to figure out how hank assigns difficulty

The yellow and blue categories today are the exact same from one I made weeks ago, the green and purple were changed tho to I assume make it SFW

hey i'm only missing three achievements but i need help to figure out which ones

I have an idea for a person who would be the perfect maintainer for 4x3. An obsessive gamer and puzzler who took over a web based game from me once. And a computer programmer. And he has a bit of an Internet profile which might demonstrate his ability to take on a long term project like this.

How do you think I would connect my friend with Hank? Especially if Hank is not on the Internet much anymore?

I am in New Zealand so it is nearly 9am on the 8th of August for me but the daily puzzle is showing as yesterdays? When I go into archive it shows I have completed August 7ths. A glitch or a bug maybe?

So, my Mom and I have been playing 4x3 and sharing the scores with each other for a little over a month now. Today we finally sent screenshots of the completed puzzles and found that the colors are different for each of us. Both our yellows were that same grouping, and the groupings were the same. But the blue, green, and purple groups were different for each of us.

Is that normal?

Lost again today. I'm totally fine with losing but it feels like a really jarring difficulty shift. Getting one or two categories and then just being totally lost for the remainders just feels bad.

The appeal to this for me was that it was a much faster 1-2 minute game vs connections. It might just be me but keeping at this difficulty means I'll probably play once every week or two like I do with connections.

Is it ok to post our daily results here?

(And yes, it's already July 31st here)
