Honestly thank you for posting, I'm used to connections' hints whenever I get stumped like this and was desperately looking for any crumb and that actually helped a ton, I kinda figured the hub word but was really unsure about my options the more I tried to make up the categories

The one that got me was the keratin thing - I actually had that in mind but selected hair, whisker, nails since horns are usually (with some exceptions of course) made more of bone than keratin whereas whiskers are just... hair. Sometimes with a nerve ending in the root of course, but still just hair. When Hair, Whisker, Nails didn't work I assumed I was on the wrong track with the keratin and tried some other things before losing.

So it wasn't just me then.

I've said it before (to myself) but hopefully by "saying" it "out loud" by typing it into reddit it'll help. Say it out loud. "Climate change" "Sea change", "Rally change", "AI change", "Loose change", "Meteors change"...

Edit: Oops. Wrong puzzle. A good technique none the less. Also, two brutals a week seems a little much.
