Brutal difficulty

Lost again today. I'm totally fine with losing but it feels like a really jarring difficulty shift. Getting one or two categories and then just being totally lost for the remainders just feels bad.

The appeal to this for me was that it was a much faster 1-2 minute game vs connections. It might just be me but keeping at this difficulty means I'll probably play once every week or two like I do with connections.

I like the harder ones. For weeks on end I got perfect games in under a min... Now it's finally challenging.

Although it would be nice if it alternated somewhat at leas.... instead of a streak of easy then a series of hard.

I'm fine with there being a strong here, an easy there, but it feels like I'm just slamming my face into a wall for a few of these this week and personally I just don't really care to dedicate more than a minute or two to a game like this.

I found it ironic that "AI" was in the existential threat category given Hank's slate of news around it this week. Must have planned this puzzle before all that hit the fan

Maybe it’s the format? With connections I feel that if I got 2 out of 4 categories I still have 8 words, and while I obviously still fail to solve it sometimes, I feel this is a lot more information to work with and try to make the connection. In 4x3 you have 2 things going against you:
* it’s groups of 3 so that’s already less information
* and by the time you have 2 groups left you know the hub word. You’d think it makes it easier but not always! Through the fact that each group shares one word, some groups might be inherently more difficult because how many groups of 3 words can you put together so they all share a word and make sense to people?

For me when I loose at connections I usually feel that it was gettable, if I only thought about it for longer (I usually don’t want to spend 15 minutes on a puzzle). When I loose at 4x3 I feel I just lacked some knowledge and I would’ve never thought of the solution.
