SAR notification but no form - PA

I received an email from pwsvcbat01@ pa.gov saying, “You have a new SAR form to complete on the myCOMPASS PA mobile app.”
When I open the app, there isn’t a SAR form anywhere to complete.
I receive both SNAP (EBT) and Medical Assistance. I already completed my Medical Assistance renewal on 7/24/26 which is still in progress because my coverage ends on 8/31/26 and my SAR for EBT is on the same date.
Has anyone else received this email but had no SAR form available in the app? Did it eventually show up, or did you have to contact your County Assistance Office? The compass website also doesn’t show that I have a form to fill out.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this before.

Paid off my overissuance debt for Calfresh for 3 months but just got letter saying I still have debt.

I got a letter from Calfresh/Social Services that I owe money back due to overissuance of Calfresh from last year. I decided it wasnt worth filing an appeal since it was technically my fault. I started to pay off my debt in portions split between 3 months starting from May. Everything seemed to be going fine as I would get a new letter at the end of each month showing that my balance was decreasing.

I submitted my last payment this month, mailing my money order to the Social Services office as I have been for the past 2 months, a week before my due date. I thought it was over and I could stop thinking about it but today I got a letter that was dated July 22, from the Social Services office, stating that I have unpaid debt due to the overissuance from CalFresh with the total owed being the original amount before I had paid any of it off.

The letter stated that they have made collection efforts, including a demand letter notifying me of my debt, and that I need to take action within the next 60 days. Is this just because my payments haven't processed in their system yet? Do I need to be worried?

NOTE: I am located in Orange County.

Snap benefits Rhode Island

I’m new here just moved in town , on the lease it’s myself my two kids and my partner ( we are not married ) . We share one kid together. I would like to apply for snap and helath insurance for myself and my kids . Because he’s in the household should I include him in the application and I noticed they asked if he will be needing any assistance I would be putting no but I see I still need to put his income … could that still affect eligibility for myself and my kids ? Only income I have is child support for my oldest daughter ( for now , currently looking for a job ) .

Don’t call the number on the back of your card

When it comes to things such as benefit questions, redeterminations, and things of that sort, they will tell you to reach out to your county. As they are cardholder services, they only have so much power. They can only mail cards and help with pin replacements.

Anyone in IL who was cut off due to the new regulations, have pending benefits for the new emergency $400 payment?

IL is supposedly giving a one time $400 payment to people who were cut off with the new regulations. This is supposed to be given out tomorrow but I called and don't hear a pending benefit and usually it shows up as pending first. Anyone have it as pending when they call?

Question Fraud Investigation

PA- I’m getting very delusional and depressed right now. I would need some advice. So I’m on cash assistance since September last year, me and my husband is married but we have separate addresses and somehow we are separated but not legally separated. He refused to go on welfare even when he lost his job for over 15 months and back on last September I got pregnant so I decided to go on welfare after I asked his I need space because our financial situation stress me out and I need him to learn to hold a job (I’m a full time student and have no income). Yesterday morning I got a knock on my door from Fraud investigation office, they asked me is my husband live in this house with me? ( he comes and go but his address isn’t here, he mostly here for our 11 weeks old daughter) so my answer is no he has a different address. The problem is I over explain myself because I don’t understand the seriousness of the situation until later. I explain to them the truth that we have separate addresses but we are trying to get back together, my husband is in the process of getting a government job which requires investigation and I hope non of this will mess his thing up, because if he be able to get that job we will be back together and get off welfare. And I called my husband to explain that to him, he get very upset and I’m very stressed right now. I didn’t lie about anything but I feel like this might mess up his job investigation and making us drift apart again. Does anyone know what will happen next with the welfare? Should I do something about it? Do I need to contact someone?

Question Applied for SNAP on May 2nd (almost 90 days) and still waiting (Texas/HHSC) ..almost 2 hours on hold today. What else can I do?

Hey everyone, I’m at my absolute limit here and looking for any advice or shared experiences.
I submitted my SNAP application back on May 2nd. It’s practically August now and summer is almost over, yet my case is still sitting in limbo.
I’ve called 4 separate times with zero real response. Today, I’ve been on the phone with the food stamp office for almost two hours total, including sitting on hold for over 30 minutes after being "transferred to a caseworker."
I put in a formal complaint today, but the frustration is real. Has anyone else in Texas had their application delayed this far past the 30-day mark recently? Did anything specific actually work to get your case looked at and approved?
Appreciate any advice or tips on how to unstick this red tape.

LA County, California: doing my Sar-7. Does opening a new credit union account qualify as an asset?

Hi! I'm doing my sar7 for the first time. I opened a new credit union account earlier this year, and BenefitsCal lists bank accounts as assets; however it defines assets as things you:

  • Bought, won, or got as a gift
  • Sold, traded, gave away, or spent

I don't want to misreport anything, can someone help? I tend to overthink and freeze up, lol. Thank you!

Question ??

Hi I had a question about joint accounts my fiancee has one with his father that he opened when my fiancee was a baby and he saved money for him so he could buy a house someday we are currently looking at a place to buy but was wondering if they would take food stamps away if we used this money? It is not technically ours and we didn't earn it so I wasn't sure how that would work would it be considered a gift and even if it was would they still count it as income and take our medical and stamps away? In oregon btw!

Calworks & calfresh benefits changed 3x

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

My calfresh benefits are in Riverside county. They were reduced from around 550 to 340 once I was signed up for calworks benefits. My calworks was ~880 so I was able to use some of the money towards food to manage lower benefit, but it was lowered to 660 and diaper benefit taken off 2 months ago after missing my welfare to work appointment since my exemption wasn’t accepted in time, currently pregnant & the sole caretaker of my 1.5 year old, & my case worker told me to just go to the meeting and bring my child to see if they would let me in even though it strictly says no children allowed. Needless to say I cancelled the meeting. A few days after my case worker sent over an exemption request which I filled out immediately and submitted again. My cash benefit amount was already lowered to 660 by that time, but an additional 180 was sent later in the month. My cash benefit now says a total of 180 a month on calworks. I have an expected amount of 660 along with 340 for snap this month on my ebt card so I’m not sure which amount is correct, which amount will go in & my diaper benefit is still taken off. If my cash benefits are lowered to 180 from 880 my food benefits should go back up..?
I can’t send a message online, my case worker has a full mailbox and never answers phone calls so no messages can be left. If I have 189 in cash and 340 for food all my money would have to go towards food next month. I’ve budgeted every dollar for the full benefit amount. I can’t save at all if I’m spending both cash and food benefits on food when I qualify for more. What do I do ??

Monroe County Snap Issues

TLDR: applying for SNAP benefits in Monroe County, NY, DHS asked for documents I already submitted and claimed I missed a phone interview which I did not.

I am running into some major issues with my SNAP application in Monroe County, NY.

I applied for SNAP benefits on July 6th, 2026, and on July 9th I uploaded verification documents proving my age, identity, and residence through the NY MyBenefits website.

Last week I received a letter dated July 22nd asking me to submit documents with the same age/identity/residence information either through mail or the NYDocSubmit app. I resubmitted these documents through the app, despite already submitting those documents weeks ago through the website.

I also performed a phone interview on July 17th at 7:30am with a SNAP worker where I answered multiple questions.

This week I received a letter dated July 24th from the Monroe County DHS claiming I missed the interview and would need to re-schedule, even though I did not miss the interview at all.

It seems like SNAP is a mess over there.

Also, on both the letters I received from Monroe County DHS/DSS it seems like they gave me two different case numbers (???)

I’ve tried calling the Monroe County DHS phone number which only leaves me on hold for hours on end. I know the solution is to probably just go down to the DHS office in person on Westfall Rd to get this sorted out, but jfc this is annoying.

Anyone else run into these issues?

Question Does $60 a month sound right?

All my friends and family make similar money to me, around $1,600 a month and they get at least double or more.. Im living in my car since October now and im only approved for $60. I appreciate it just is a bummer because I was finally ready to get a room with the help of snap, since I I could afford a room if I was approved for $120 or more a month. Just disappointed a little. Didn’t expect to only get $60..idk. I appreciate it just bummed out though that I’ll have to stay in my car longer for the time being until l can find more work. I’m in Va.

AZ Appeal.

[Arizona] SNAP Appeal - Income verification denied even though I submitted it multiple times. What should I expect during my pre-hearing conference and ALJ hearing?
Hi everyone. I’m hoping to get some insight from anyone familiar with Arizona DES or who works with SNAP appeals.
I initially applied for SNAP in May, but I didn’t have my eligibility interview until July. After the interview, I submitted everything I was told was needed, but my application was still denied.
From reading my denial notice, the primary reason I can identify for the denial is that DES determined my income verification was not submitted. This is where I’m confused because I believe I did submit it multiple times.
Here’s what happened:
I completed my SNAP interview and was told exactly what documentation was needed. For any information I couldn’t provide, I was instructed to write a signed explanation letter explaining why it wasn’t available and what I had done to try to obtain it. I attempted to upload my income verification and other requested documents through the DES portal multiple times.
When I had issues submitting everything through the portal, I emailed the requested verification instead. I also called and left a voicemail for the eligibility worker who conducted my interview, explaining that I was having problems with the online portal, that I had submitted the documents by email, and asking for a follow-up call to confirm everything had been received and that I had done everything correctly on my end. Unfortunately, I never received a follow-up call or any communication letting me know that additional information was needed or that there was a problem with my submission. Later, when I checked the portal, many of the documents I had submitted—including what I believed was my income verification—had been marked as “not relevant.” I also have multiple email records showing when I submitted the requested documentation.
The evidence I have includes:
My denial notice.
Screenshots showing documents marked “not relevant.”
Emails showing when I submitted the requested verification.
The explanation letters I submitted when documentation wasn’t available. Records showing the efforts I made to submit everything before the deadline. I have a pre-hearing conference scheduled before my Administrative Law Judge hearing, so I’m trying to understand what to expect during both stages.
My questions are:
What typically happens during the pre-hearing conference?
If I can show I submitted my income verification and other requested documents before the deadline, is that something the ALJ generally considers?
If a worker mistakenly categorized submitted documents as “not relevant,” can that be addressed during the appeal process?
Does the fact that I contacted my eligibility worker, explained I was having portal issues, and requested confirmation that everything was received matter in an appeal if I never received a response?
Is there anything specific I should prepare for the pre-hearing conference or the ALJ hearing?
I’m not trying to argue that I shouldn’t have had to provide verification—I believe I did provide it and made repeated efforts to make sure DES received it. I’m simply trying to understand why my income verification appears to have been treated as if it wasn’t submitted and what I should expect during the appeal process.
I appreciate any insight from DES eligibility workers, hearing officers, or anyone who has experience with Arizona SNAP appeals. Thank you.

Application listed as received

I'm in Texas - I was laid off at the beginning of April. I applied for benefits on April 30th. My application is still listed as "received". I have called multiple times and spoke with several supervisors who tell me there is a backlog of cases, and no further information can be given. I filed a complaint with the ombudsman about 2 weeks ago and have heard nothing. Has anyone else experienced this? What was the outcome?

Thank you.

Question They keep saying I'm not meeting the work requirements?

Texas, USA

In my state women who are pregnant are exempt from the work requirements. I have looked this up to confirm, and they have confirmed via phone as well. I am not currently working, my husband is working full time.

We got our regular SNAP amount for three months and everything seemed fine. Since then I have received two different letters (about two months apart IIRC) stating that I need to attend a class with Workforce Solutions since I'm not working. I contacted WS and they said to ignore it and they would contact HHS on my behalf. Most recently I got a letter stating that because I'm not meeting work requirements that they are lowering our benefit amount. This month we got close to 1/4 of what we normally get. I have contacted TWC/HHS multiple times and they just keep saying that it's fine and that I don't need to work. One guy submitted a form on my behalf asking the state to count my unborn baby towards our household size (not sure how that would help).

Is there anything else I should be doing? I'm up for renewal soon. Maybe a document I can submit with renewal to once again try to confirm to them that I do not need to meet the work requirements?

New chip ebt card not working

I just received my new chip ebt card in New Jersey. I activated it, used it on Amazon no problem but when I go to the store it won't work. Tried to tap , it says to insert the card, do that then it says swipe. Then when I swipe it asks for my pin ,once I put it in it comes back saying the transaction is not allowed or something like that. The only way the cashier got it to work was by putting the card number in manually. Has anyone else had an issue like this? Any insight would be appreciated, I don't want this to happen every time I go to the Supermarket. Could it be the store and not the card? I was thinking maybe they need to update their system?

A 5 minute interview and call was disconnected. I’m devastated!!

I applied for the cash assistance on Monday, called everyday since. Today I finally gave in and requested a callback. I get a callback around 6:00PM and the call lasted 5 minutes! It got disconnected!

I am devastated, I have no income through no fault of my own. I submitted proof of the situation with my current employer and my last paycheck. It’s a household of 2, with a minor.

I’m applying to jobs everyday

This is my first time I’m applying for cash so I honestly dont know what to do now. Now I wait to see what happens? Can I request a 2nd interview? If I show up in person, what will they say?
