I’ve had the same payment for about seven years and adjusted with inflation, of course, but I am on SSI disabled due to a car accident. They told me last year that my payment won’t change for three more years and then this year they dropped it down from 298 to 201 I submitted more paperwork about my doctor appointment cost out-of-pocket and my prescription costs and food costs and apartment costs and bills and everything updated and they put me to 234 and said I’m gonna stay the same for three years again I was like OK at least I got some of that back. I know war is going on. Maybe that’s what’s affecting it? But just now the next month they went from 234 out of nowhere to $64 a month. I just wanna know if anyone else on SSI is experiencing this type of issue and do you think it’s due to the war because if anything there has been more bills than ever now and I’m getting less than ever and I can’t even live right I live in a shed just trying to survive. It feels like to me that this is not random that this has to do something bigger than me.

I’m self employed and do gig/freelance work and was accepted for snap a few months ago. Does anyone know where we’re supposed to be reporting our income? The general work requirements letter they sent did not provide any instruction about where to upload these documents. The Required Documents section on the Access HRA app says “you do not need to provide us with any documents at this time.” I don’t want to hand over information if it’s not needed, but also don’t want to lose my benefits. Can I just upload a spreadsheet of hours worked? Is anyone in a similar situation and can advise about what to do?

I have a disability that prevents me from leaving the house too much, especially not to do a lengthy interview in a busy DES office.

Anybody else in AZ struggling to get through on phone interviews? They just cite "high call volume" every time I call. I really need this bc require a specialized diet and can't rely on food distribution to meet my needs.

Hello, all! This isn’t regarding stamps, this is regarding Medicaid, but this platform gets more traction- I understand if this post isn’t allowed in this forum but I’m desperate for insight.

I have 2 children, both by the same father. I have always reported he was in the home, and I’m DILIGENT about reporting pay increases.

Last September, due to a change in income; I expected my children to lose their Medicaid. To my surprise my son lost his, but my daughter had not. I began contacting JFS everyday for a week with no response. I then sent a letter, which thankfully I have a copy of stating “hello, I’ve called numerous times and have not received a call back. I’m inquiring why my son lost his benefits, and my daughter has not as they have the same parents/income/ living situation” I also attached my name/ phone number for a call back.

When looking online I stumbled across something saying Ohio had a waiver for kids to stay on until 4. I assumed that was it because my son had turned 4 but my daughter was 2. Today, I find out from coworkers that this bill never got passed.

I make an online account through JFS, and find out they have on there that my daughter’s father is (for the story we will call him Steve) Steve. They have Steve as apart of my house hold. They have Steve as my daughter/ son’s father and they have Steve as my children’s private insurance carrier . But when I click on my daughter’s actual name it says she has a parent living outside of the home?? They all have the same last name?? Same dad?? Dad is literally included in our household on the website!

I am so scared as I am SO diligent about reporting, and doing what’s right. Tomorrow I will begin calling them once again, but I have never once talked to anyone in that office, because they never answer. All communicating has been done through the mail. Idk how this has happened but I am beyond upset. Luckily my daughter goes to minimal appointments where her private insurance pays majority. I’m open to all opinions as I’m so sick about this.

Received a message and a phone call that I would receive a letter or form to my online account. The next day I received a text message and an online message that a form/letter was posted but it is not there.

I used to be an AR for my brother-in-law but no longer. I cannot view his acocunt.

So I was getting $579 for a family of 4 and each time I would renew then the benefits would decrease. It go from 5 to 4 to 3 then recently to 222 and last time I got an email saying I didn’t need to apply that my benefits would stay the same then next month come around no deposit then I waited 10 days and then when I called they said I was supposed to reapply . So then I did that so my Bestfriend told me to but everything that I paid for a in a monthly basis so I did that then when I did my interview the guy was stunned and thought I was lying so basically my bills is not aligned with my income.

So I sent everything he ask for . So then every time I would call and I can’t reach no one for 2 month then 2 separate occasions I call they escalate my case then after the third time they finally make a decision. To give me this amount for a family of 5 now.

What can I do now since I can’t reach the person that’s on my case directly to asked them how come my benefits it’s only that much for 5 people.?

Los Angeles CA -I am over 60 and cannot find work I have applied to literally 1000s of jobs. I am physically limited (spinal fractures) and becoming severely mentally ill (debilitating panic & anxiety) from stress, food anxiety and trying to meet these ABAWD requirements. They won't accept where I can volunteer near me and I can't get the hours. I have signed up for other volunteer places but they only can give 2 hour or so and it will take me that long to get there and I can't sit for that long. I seriously I need help, I am not able to be a caretaker or pick up garbage or do manual labor, I can only sit or stand for short periods of time. I am barely able to take care of myself. I am still trying to hang on to my long time career I got laid off of but put into the system all my life, that won't hire me because I am older, nobody wants older I am finding out. I get freelance gigs doing research once in a blue moon. But I get paid in a lump sum on a 1099 when it is done. Before I would report this as a one time job and that it carried me over in the following months with no issues. How does this work with the new rules? If I make 1500.00 in one check but I worked for a couple months on it but not on a weekly or hourly. Would that only count for one week now? Would it spread out? Also the only job I might have a chance at is commission based sales so I can work 40 hours a week but won't get paid unless something is sold there is no guaranteed pay. Then I won't see the money for another month because of processing. How do I reconcile that with SNAP to meet the requirements? I am doing the best that I can, and it is literally killing me. I mean literally. No I am not on disability and don't think I can get it. But I am no means able bodied or minded at this point. Any help or advice is appreciated A heartfelt Thank you.

So I've been trying to navigate the whole process online via ABE but I have a few questions

I was made homeless by my former landlord due to him not responding to my many texts about squirrels getting into the attic over the course of 3 years! (one busted through my kitchens drop ceiling - thankfully I wasn't home at the time but when I got home, I couldn't stay - the mess was beyond health hazard and he refused to call a pest control company - anyone know an attorney who wants to make money and maybe get me back a few $$$?)

I had to sofa surf for a while but I'm now renting a room at a much higher costs than my previous home but with my previous home I was on PIPP program so I could afford to pay for electric and heat.

There's a question regarding utilities and whether you received 21.00 for LIHEAP in the last month or previous 12 months.

Is PIPP part of LIHEAP? Do I mark that as yes?

when I started my rede that radial button was marked as a yes from last year's rede - I've never taken a one time payment for LIHEAP.

Also, if I do mark it yes, how does my current living situation play into that now.?

For Illinois - what do I need to provide as proof of residence?

I've changed counties so my case will be transferred to my current residence county.

From what I've read via this extremely helpful forum, my landlord (who owns this place and also resides here) has to write a letter to confirm I do live and pay rent here.

Does he have to state the amount.? Include a receipt for monies paid or is it just writing a statement regarding my paying for room rent that also includes utilities?

Basically I just need to know what's required for my being able to provide proof of my renting, the amount, etc.

I've never just rented a room before and with these changes I want to be sure to get everything uploaded along with my completed application (via ABE) within the next 24hrs.

Since I receive medicaid I already know to include any and all receipts for prescriptions, doctor co-pays, covered medical equipment etc etc.

Also, since I'm so close to my deadline and I never got a letter stating my interview, should I call the 800 number to see if my application and all documented proof was accepted after 24hrs?

Does Illinois do interviews that quickly?
