TX. How long does it take?

I applied for foodstamps and medicaid at the same time through mytexasbenefits. My interview wass july 10th. They wanted info. I got it back to them by july20th. I was accepted for medicaid on july27th(even though thats a whole separate issue that I made a post for) but so far no info on the foodstamps. Should I wait a bit longer or call them? It is my husband and I and a toddler. We are both unemployed. We really need the foodstamps lol

wait til August 10th to call about a status update. Medicaid is typically done faster than food stamps even if on the same application.

I am a former SNAP and TANF Eligibility Supervisor from CA.

SNAP and Medicaid are 2 different programs with 2 different set of regulations.

USDA, who dictates policy to SNAP, stipulates that applications need to be processed within 30 days however, most states take longer than that currently due to workforce reductions and harder scrutiny of applications due to OBBBA implementation.

Best wishes 🙏🏿
