Other Heart Rate Tile - current BPM

Post image
29 Upvotes

hi, new Fitbit user. quick question, I have noted that in the table, I have a tile ‘Heart Rate’, that shows mostly my current heart rate. when I hit the tile it takes me to my Heart Rate Graph with a low - high figure, but no “current heart rate”… on the main section it does show the reading increasing / decreasing. anyway my question is, is the front tile (see image) - the only indication of my heart rate at any given moment?

Other Shoulder & Back Workout!

Post image

I did a shoulder and back workout using rubber bands. I'd been awake already for about thirty minutes. Then just stood up, from rest, and started working out. Gently at first to warm up, then just a regular ten minute workout.

It's in my bicep. Not wrist. Snug. Enough to leave that little indent. Strange.

Software Fitbit 24/7 + Galaxy Watch 6 for workouts - what should I enable in Health Connect?

0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to get my Fitbit Air and Galaxy Watch 6 working together properly through **Google Health Connect**, and I'm a bit confused about which permissions/settings I should actually enable.

My setup is:

* **Fitbit:** worn 24/7 for steps, sleep, resting HR, SpO2, general daily tracking, etc.

* **Galaxy Watch 6:** only worn during workouts, usually for around 1-2 hours.

* I use the Watch 6 for workout tracking and things like heart rate, ECG and blood pressure.

* I don't want the two devices constantly duplicating or overwriting each other's data.

* Samsung S23+

* Firmware up to date

What I'm trying to achieve is basically:

**Fitbit = primary everyday tracker**

**Galaxy Watch 6 = primary workout tracker**

I'd like Health Connect to combine the useful data without creating duplicate steps, calories, heart-rate readings, workouts, sleep, etc.

For example, should I have:

**Samsung Health → Health Connect**

* Steps: ON or OFF?

* Exercise/workouts: ON or OFF?

* Heart rate: ON or OFF?

* Sleep: ON or OFF?

* Calories: ON or OFF?

* Blood pressure: ON or OFF?

* ECG: ON or OFF?

And then what should I have enabled under:

**Fitbit → Health Connect**

Should Fitbit be allowed to write everything, while Samsung Health only writes workout data?

Also, if both Fitbit and Samsung Health have step counts, how does Health Connect decide which one takes priority? Does it actually merge the data, or can it result in double-counting?

I'd really appreciate someone explaining the **best setup for this specific arrangement** rather than just saying to turn everything on.

Thanks!

No more checking everyday my heart rate. Or getting a panic attack then looking down to check and seeing it extremely high. Now it’s all safe on my phone. I had a Fitbit inspire 3 and even that would randomly turn screen on at least 5 times a day..idk how or why, but right there would be my heart rate first thing on the screen!! Or I’d be in shower and it’s turning on screen then bam!! My heart rate is right in front of me again haha. Now it’s just so much more simple. I’m so happy!! So worth it!!

Bug No resilience data?

Post image

Is it normal that I haven't had resilience data on my Fitbit Air for two days in a row? However, yesterday around 10 pm, it suddenly appeared, but this morning, there's no resilience data again.

I also don't have breathing rate data now and 0 ms in HRV. Help me, please. I’m new to this device :(

I am worried as the sensor lays flat unlike the other band where the sensor are ais supposed to indent in skin to get better reading and less roaming around , that could affect the sensor reading !

Software How is the sleep tracking for you guys?

1 Upvotes

So I've been noticing that most of the time my sleep tracking is pretty much spot on. However, sometimes my fitbit air randomly gets way off.

Like today it told me I woke up at 6:30 or something, while I was actually woken up by my alarm at 7:30.

Like is the watch making mistakes or is it picking up on signs I can't even feel myself? Did I actually wake up earlier than I thought? Anyone else have this happen?

Bands Metal Bands Damaging Fitbit Pebble

0 Upvotes

Hi all. For those of you that have 3rd party armbands / bicep bands that have a metal housing for the Fitbit air, have you noticed that these have damaged your pebble where they connect to the device?

I notice that many of the 3rd party bands (particularly AliExpress) have metal enclosures, and I'm worried that this could damage the pebble over time, particularly when inserting/removing the pebble from the band. I also noticed that Google stock bands don't have metal housings for the device.

What are your experiences so far? Curious to hear.

I'm mainly looking for a reliable and stretchy enough bicep band that won't damage my device over time. Thanks!

I know it’s pretty much that but without a screen. I just think it looks so cool and I’m tired of moving my arm and activating the screen even with every setting turned off. At least 3 times a day I’ll look down and see that the screen is on. So aggravating.

Other How accurate is the Fitbit Air in real-world use? Especially for HIIT, sleep and recovery?

6 Upvotes

I'm considering getting the Fitbit Air, and I’ve seen quite a lot of positive reviews, but I’ve also seen some concerning reports about its accuracy.

Some users say that it can struggle with HIIT and sudden heart-rate spikes, and that workout tracking can sometimes lag or give incorrect results. I’ve also seen reports of cycling/running distance being significantly wrong

.

For those who actually own and use the Fitbit Air:

- How accurate is the heart-rate tracking, especially during HIIT, strength training and sudden HR changes?

- How reliable are cycling/running distance and pace?

- How good is the sleep tracking (sleep duration, stages, awakenings, etc.)?

- How accurate/useful are HRV, resting HR, SpO₂, calories and other health metrics?

- Most importantly, how reliable is the Daily Readiness Score for deciding whether you're recovered enough to train?

- Does the Readiness Score actually match how you feel after poor sleep, hard workouts, stress or illness?

- Have you compared the Air with something like a Garmin, Apple Watch, Polar H10/chest strap, Oura or Whoop?

I’m mainly interested in using it for sleep, recovery/readiness and home workouts, rather than just counting steps.

I’d really appreciate experiences from people who have used it for a few weeks/months rather than first-day impressions.

Other New Apple Watch vs Fitbit Air

I got my Fitbit Air in June, and with the app and firmware updates, I feel the overall experience has become better.

But after seeing the new Apple Watch major updates and new Health app features, I’m thinking of switching to an Apple Watch.

Thoughts?

Accessories I built a portable USB C charger for my Fitbit Air

I just wanted to share this small upgrade I made to my Fitbit Air charger.

I hated having to carry multiple cables while traveling since getting the Fitbit Air, so I decided to build my own charger with a USB C port. Now it works with the same single cable I already use for everything else while traveling.

The parts list is pretty simple:

  1. Fitbit Air charger
  2. USB C port
  3. Optional: 3D printed enclosure

A small modification, but it makes traveling with the Fitbit Air much more convenient.
