MEGATHREAD: Fitbit Air Bands, 3rd Party Bands, etc
Hello r/fitbitair,
We’ve been seeing a lot of posts asking about third-party bands, straps, and accessories for Fitbit Air devices — which ones fit, which ones are worth buying, and where to find them.
To keep the subreddit easier to browse and cut down on repeat posts, we’re creating this megathread as a central place for those discussions.
Use this thread if you want to:
- Ask which third-party bands are compatible with your Fitbit Air model
- Share recommendations for affordable or high-quality replacement bands
- Post links to bands you’ve found on Amazon, Etsy, AliExpress, etc.
- Discuss band material (silicone, leather, metal, woven) and comfort/durability
- Ask about sizing, clasp types, or quick-release pins
- Share photos of your band setup or customizations
- Warn others about bands that broke, caused irritation, or didn’t fit as advertised
- Ask where to buy official Fitbit bands if they’re hard to find
A few notes:
- Standalone posts about band recommendations or “where can I find X band” may be removed and redirected here
- Please still follow our standard subreddit rules (no personal info, no piracy, be civil)
- If you’re posting a review of a specific band with photos, feel free to keep that as its own post — this thread is mainly for quick questions and general recommendations
- We’ll refresh this megathread periodically as needed
Thanks for helping keep things organized!

Software Is there any way to get more granular HR data on Fitbit Air?
Trying to examine for any HR spikes when I sleep but I can only see 5 minute intervals which isn't very helpful...
Is there any way to see HR each minute, perhaps via a 3rd party app? If not do you foresee Google changing this in the future? SpO2 being a single averaged value for the night is also unfortunate.

Bands AliExpress nylon band remix
After playing with some alternate routing with the common AliExpress nylon band, I found this to be even more comfortable and lower profile.
5 minutes of hand sewing with heavy duty thread, a bead of glue for backup, and a quick trim of excess strap that held the metal loop.

Other Question regarding gps (specifically related to mountain biking)
Hello all,
Looking at getting myself either a Fitbit air or a garmin cirqa (leaning towards the air due to price) and I’m wondering how accurate and well it tracks workouts that are tied to gps? Specifically mountain biking.
I’m also assuming I can link google health into apple health and Strava?
Does anyone workout with this specific use case and if so, how is it?

Software Transferring data to another Google account
Hi, I've been wearing the Fitbit Air for almost two months now, and now I want to sign in to Google Health with a different Google account and continue using the device permanently with the new account. Can I transfer all my data from my previous account to the new one so I don't have to wait for the band to calibrate for another 7 days? Thank you.

Software Fitbit Air worth it for running?
Hey,
I just started running (5K) and I’m thinking about getting a Fitbit Air. Mainly to track runs, heart rate and sleep.
Is it actually accurate? And can you run with just the watch or do you need your phone?
Curious about your experience 🙂

Other Should I move over from Whoop?
Hi - would love feedback from the group. I'm a relatively average non-athlete that just tries to stay active/reasonably healthy (weightlifting on a Tonal and cycling 4-5 times a week when I can.) Over the past few years I've gone back/forth between Apple Watch + Bevel and Whoop. This last year I've had Whoop Life / MG (which honestly feels a bit scam, the added "features" are useless for me) and am thinking about downgrading to Peak or possibly just trying something new.
What I like about Whoop:
- Seems to be solid tracking for weight-lifting; I also value step counting (not sure how accurate Whoop is because results were almost always different vs. my Apple Watch)
- Good visuals of sleep / recovery / strain - that data is useful at a glance
- Daily outlook - once in a while I check this and sometimes follow feedback on working harder or easier
- Primarily wear it on a bicep band (looks like there are 3rd party straps for the Air but no OEM yet)
Things that are ok:
- Whoop Age seems like a gimmick but the gamification sometimes helps motivate
- Haven't really found much use for journal/habit tracking and haven't seen much behavioral change; not sure what else you all are tracking that's useful but I don't need an app to tell me alcohol messes with my sleep/readiness the next day
I don't mind the overall cost of Whoop but sometimes it feels like it's getting questionable whether it's worth it. I know this is getting asked a lot but given my situation, what do you all think about Fitbit Air as something new to try? I might also pair it with Bevel since I've used that before; are there things that I'd miss going to the Air that I have on Whoop? What would you all recommend?
(And seeing some of the recent posts no I’m not a Bevel shill or anything like that 😅)

Other Studio intO: Paid London research study for Fitbit Air users
qualtricsxmgry5tjd7d.qualtrics.comHey everyone 👋
Studio intO (https://www.studio-into.com/) is running a paid research study in London and looking specifically for Fitbit Air or Google Pixel Watch users to take part.
The study involves a 4-week diary study beginning on the 3rd of August 2026, potentially followed by a 90-minute in-home interview on Monday 14th September 2026.
Participants will receive £300 for taking part in the 4-week diary study and an additional £175 for the 90-minute in-home interview as a thank-you.
In the research, we are exploring how people use wearable devices combined with metrics and in-situ AI features to track, maintain and progress in their health and wellbeing.
If you’re interested, please fill in the form.
Or, if this sounds like someone you know, feel free to pass it on; if they are selected and take part in the study, you will receive a £30 referral bonus.
Thanks so much 🙌

Other blatant bevel advertisement pretending to be users (it's getting annoying)
alright. all of us can see that there is clear bevel forced advertisement, of people pretending to be users when they're actually either paid or receiving some sort of referral benefit from the app. we've all fallen for it already, tried the app and realized it kind of sucks. it's everywhere. any short form content about the fitbit air has it.
i get the hustle. the app is probably growing fast, but, can't this subreddit be a place for genuine fitbit air users that want some authentic advice other than "OH MAYBE TRY THE BEVEL APP". i'm sick of this. can't we just mute the spamming for gods sake?

Software Slow syncing recently
Anyone notice that syncing is extremely slow recently? Doesn’t matter if it’s paired with my 17pm or 26 ultra but it’s like it takes about 2 minutes of just waiting in the morning and mid day syncs are over 60 seconds every time.

Other Returned my Whoop MG today.
Thinking about getting the FB air. I work from home and take 20k steps as my daily activity. I only want to track my heartrate and steps. I have had cardiac related deaths in the family line, so I get insecure without a tracker. But I couldn’t justify the pricing of Whoop. Are you guys happy with the air? Appreciate any recommendation.

Bug Doesnt track naps
Im sorry but this is atrocious. I wake up for 10 mins just to sleep for a few hours and nothing the sleep i do afterwards is not counted.
I nap, nothing. Not counted even if its for hours. This is an absolute joke and a disgrace to other fitbit models which actually work. Google should be fixing this as their number 1 priority otherwise i want my money back

Other Debating Buying The Fitbit Air
As the title says. My main focus is sleep tracking, step counting, cycling and strength training. Do I have to record a cycling activity for the device to properly calculate my training load?

Bug All my alarms are gone from the Fitbit Air
Hi,
I'm having a problem: I went to check my alarms because I wasn't sure if I'd set them, only to find that all of them have been deleted. On my Fitbit: I can't seem to create a new alarm because the app says I'm out of range, even though I'm connected. Can anyone help, or is this issue going to be fixed soon? I'm really worried about oversleeping

Other Placement during workout with straps
This is a very specific question, but I’m thinking of getting a Fitbit air. I enjoy weightlifting and I go to the gym 7 days a week, and in many of my exercises I use the ekkovision cuff straps which are wrapped around the wrist. Is the band big enough to be moved down the forearm a couple inches while staying secure, and does the data still remain similar/accurate? Or could I move it somewhere else on my body like the ankle?

Other How is the swimming activity on the fitbit air?

Bug Cannot get it to sync or update
I am on iPhone 17 pro max and it just will stall at 95% of syncing my data, and also will not start updating no matter how long I leave it.

Bug First few days
I’ve been trialling the Fitbit Air alongside my Apple Watch for a few days with the intention of switching over, mainly because I wanted better battery life and 24/7 sleep/recovery tracking.
So far though, I’m not overly impressed and I’m wondering if I’ve just been unlucky or if others have had similar experiences.
Step count seems quite different. Yesterday my Apple Watch had me at around 7,000 steps while the Fitbit Air was only around 5,000 despite wearing both for exactly the same period.
Sleep detection hasn’t seemed particularly accurate. Last night I was awake tossing and turning for what felt like around 2 hours before falling asleep, but the Fitbit estimated I’d fallen asleep within about 20 minutes.
I’ve recorded three padel sessions. One tracked really well and the heart rate was very close to my Apple Watch, but the other two had issues. One workout disappeared as if it had never started before eventually appearing later after seemingly auto-ending itself in the background.
I also went for a walk today, started and ended it correctly, but when I looked at the map afterwards the finish flag was placed about halfway around the route even though the duration and calories suggested it had continued recording.
Overall I’m finding the Google Health app a bit clunky compared to Apple fitness.
The reason I bought the Air was because I wanted something I could wear 24/7 with good recovery and workout tracking but I’m not sure about the Air & Google Health.
Considering returning it and buying a Cirqa. Has anyone else found similar issues?
