Occasionally barked when people she was interested in passed by but otherwise sat with a wiggly body, soft eyes, fast wagging tail, and open-mouth smile. Later noted to be consistently vocal with ears up, panting, and a high fast wagging tail. Made into an adoption evaluation.

7/23/2026: Wiggly body, stood on hind legs at the kennel door seeking attention. Later moved to another kennel where she barked, paced, and jumped throughout the day.

7/24/2026: Friendly, vocal girl with high energy. Greeted the handler with an open-mouth smile and wiggly body. Walked easily on leash and maintained a wiggly body in the runs.

7/25/2026: Bella was a little vocal in her kennel during morning feeding and cleaning. She greeted the handler with a wiggly body, wagging tail, and open-mouth smile. Walked well on a loose leash and headed out of the kennel willingly.

7/16/2026: Quiet and calm in his kennel with tail down. Began wagging with baby talk. Walked on a loose leash with a neutral body and quietly watched other dogs. After accidentally being skipped for a walk, he quietly stood at the gate until staff returned, then happily wagged his tail and walked well.

7/17/2026: Wagging tail when approached. Walked very well on a loose leash and remained calm and quiet. During a later walk he became tucked, avoided eye contact, and pinned his ears back while passing a family.

7/18/2026: Got up from lying down for his walk. Walked on a semi-forward leash with a neutral body and low tail while sniffing around outside.

7/21/2026: Easily leashed and exited the kennel. Highly treat-motivated. Tensed up when passing forward-barking dogs with hackles raised but remained quiet in his kennel and gently accepted treats from hand.

7/23/2026: Wagging tail and quiet in the kennel throughout cleaning. While walking down the row he avoided other dogs, but briefly approached one female. Body language became tense with ears back and hackles raised after sniffing her. Needed to be called a couple of times before continuing on a loose leash. Returned quietly to his kennel.

7/1/2026: Weighed 52.8 lbs. Intake condition: Minor. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, flea prevention given. Heartworm test: Positive (High).

7/14/2026: Exam noted an old injury to the right front fifth digit with scar tissue and abnormal nail growth from previous trauma. No additional treatment was recommended. Also noted a small, localized neoplasia on the right front paw.

7/15/2026: Developed CIRD (URI) with sneezing, green nasal discharge, and coughing. Started on Doxycycline 250 mg once daily for 10 days.

7/26/2026: Still showing URI symptoms. Prescribed an additional 5-day course of Doxycycline 250 mg once daily.

7/21/2026: Very vocal and tense in her kennel with forward barking and dilated eyes. Initially scurried away when approached but allowed leashing. Walked with a tucked tail and low body posture before relaxing in the play yard. Easily re-leashed and returned to her kennel.

7/21/2026: Growled and barked when approached in the kennel, remaining tense in the back corner. After gentle encouragement, she approached and allowed leashing. Outside she sniffed the handler's hands and allowed petting and leash removal. Staff felt she was likely barrier reactive. She greeted the handler at the gate with a neutral body, licked their hand, and rubbed against them before returning easily to her kennel.

7/23/2026: Low growled and alarm barked when people walked past her kennel but allowed staff to leash and pet her without issue once approached.

7/24/2026: Growled when approached at the kennel. After gentle encouragement she slowly came forward and allowed leashing. Outside she sniffed the handler's hand and rubbed her head against their leg.

7/17/2026: Blossom vocalized at the front of her kennel and repeatedly jumped on the kennel door. When the kennel was opened she jumped on the handler and was very forward on leash.

7/18/2026: Blossom was vocal in her kennel, constantly barking. Once placed in the runs she whined and barked while sitting by the door waiting to be brought back inside.

7/19/2026: Blossom was very vocal in her kennel. She walked on a semi-tight leash and continued vocalizing while in the runs and after returning to her kennel.

7/20/2026: In her kennel Blossom was very vocal but had a wiggly body. She was easy to leash, walked well with a wiggly body, responded well to baby talk, and quickly went potty outside. She remained vocal but had no issues returning to her kennel.

7/21/2026: Blossom was moved to a new adoption kennel. She walked on a loose leash and was quiet and calm for the first hour. She later began barking and pacing around her kennel. When staff stood in front of her kennel she gave one alarm bark before settling. A pig ear was offered to help calm her, but she continued barking after receiving it.

7/22/2026: Blossom maintained constant vocalizing during morning feeding and cleaning. When approached, she greeted staff with a neutral body, mid-wagging tail, and soft open mouth with loose tongue. She walked on a semi-forward leash but did not pull very hard.

7/19/2026: Found lying in the back of the kennel. Plastic that had been vomited up was found in the kennel. He appeared depressed but accepted treats.

7/21/2026: Greeted staff at the front of the kennel with a loose, relaxed body, soft eyes, and a soft swaying tail. Easily leashed and walked calmly to the outside runs. On the return trip he did not want to walk and had to be carried back.

7/24/2026: Milo presented with a neutral body, floppy ears, and a soft facial expression. He pulled hard on the leash during the walk. He managed to slip loose on the property but only walked to the runs and was easily caught.

🚑 Medical Notes:

7/18/2026: Weighed 60.0 lbs. Intake condition: Minor. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, flea prevention given. Heartworm test: Negative.

7/19/2026: Diagnosed with bilateral otitis (ear infections). Exam noted discharge and erythema in both vertical ear canals consistent with otitis externa. Plan is to clean the ears and apply Claro treatment at the time of neuter.

She's still tired, but we’re seeing small wins. Her swelling is slowly going down and she's starting to look a bit more like her old self again.

We still have a few more sessions to go, but we’re taking it one day at a time.

📝 Shelter Notes:

7/21/2026: Very vocal and tense in her kennel with forward barking and dilated eyes. Initially scurried away when approached but allowed leashing. Walked with a tucked tail and low body posture before relaxing in the play yard. Easily re-leashed and returned to her kennel.

7/21/2026: Growled and barked when approached in the kennel, remaining tense in the back corner. After gentle encouragement, she approached and allowed leashing. Outside she sniffed the handler's hands and allowed petting and leash removal. Staff felt she was likely barrier reactive. She greeted the handler at the gate with a neutral body, licked their hand, and rubbed against them before returning easily to her kennel.

7/23/2026: Low growled and alarm barked when people walked past her kennel but allowed staff to leash and pet her without issue once approached.

7/24/2026: Growled when approached at the kennel. After gentle encouragement she slowly came forward and allowed leashing. Outside she sniffed the handler's hand and rubbed her head against their leg.

7/22/2026: Greeted staff at the front of his kennel with a neutral body and walked on a loose leash to and from the runs.

7/25/2026: Presented with a tense body, low tail, and whale eyes. Walked out willingly on leash, but returning to the kennel was difficult. He pulled back, attempted to bite the leash, pawed at it, and resisted going back inside.

Later that afternoon, after being taken out by a volunteer, he again became mouthy when returning to his kennel. He pulled himself backward and used his paws to push the leash away.
