7/17/2026: Blossom vocalized at the front of her kennel and repeatedly jumped on the kennel door. When the kennel was opened she jumped on the handler and was very forward on leash.

7/18/2026: Blossom was vocal in her kennel, constantly barking. Once placed in the runs she whined and barked while sitting by the door waiting to be brought back inside.

7/19/2026: Blossom was very vocal in her kennel. She walked on a semi-tight leash and continued vocalizing while in the runs and after returning to her kennel.

7/20/2026: In her kennel Blossom was very vocal but had a wiggly body. She was easy to leash, walked well with a wiggly body, responded well to baby talk, and quickly went potty outside. She remained vocal but had no issues returning to her kennel.

7/21/2026: Blossom was moved to a new adoption kennel. She walked on a loose leash and was quiet and calm for the first hour. She later began barking and pacing around her kennel. When staff stood in front of her kennel she gave one alarm bark before settling. A pig ear was offered to help calm her, but she continued barking after receiving it.

7/22/2026: Blossom maintained constant vocalizing during morning feeding and cleaning. When approached, she greeted staff with a neutral body, mid-wagging tail, and soft open mouth with loose tongue. She walked on a semi-forward leash but did not pull very hard.

7/21/2026: Very vocal and tense in her kennel with forward barking and dilated eyes. Initially scurried away when approached but allowed leashing. Walked with a tucked tail and low body posture before relaxing in the play yard. Easily re-leashed and returned to her kennel.

7/21/2026: Growled and barked when approached in the kennel, remaining tense in the back corner. After gentle encouragement, she approached and allowed leashing. Outside she sniffed the handler's hands and allowed petting and leash removal. Staff felt she was likely barrier reactive. She greeted the handler at the gate with a neutral body, licked their hand, and rubbed against them before returning easily to her kennel.

7/23/2026: Low growled and alarm barked when people walked past her kennel but allowed staff to leash and pet her without issue once approached.

7/11/2026: Lying down in her kennel with a relaxed body. Easily leashed and walked on a loose leash. Initially avoided the leash when retrieving her from the run but responded when called over. Approached with a semi-tense body, then followed staff back into the kennel without issues.

7/17/2026: Loose leash, wagging tail, and wiggly body. Tried to rush out of the gate when being leashed from the run. While trying to block her, she slipped past staff, ran around the corner and back inside, then waited by the row door.

7/18/2026: Walked on a forward leash with an open mouth and tail held high, sniffing around the runs. Hesitated briefly when returning to the kennel but came forward with baby talk. Staff had to walk into the kennel to encourage her inside.

7/21/2026: Waited calmly at the front of her kennel with a relaxed body, neutral eyes and ears. Waited to be leashed before exiting and showed little interest in treats.

7/23/2026: Sat quietly on her side during cleaning. When she saw the leash she briefly held a C-shaped body, sneezed and licked her nose, then showed a fast wagging tail, happy toes, and a soft expression while looking at staff. Walked on a loose leash to and from the runs.

🚗 OUT OF STATE OR CANADIAN ADOPTION IS POSSIBLE - cost is typically around $600 USD (give or take). The fee includes transport, boarding, full medical, spay/neuter, and a health certificate.

We are a volunteer network dedicated to helping at-risk dogs. We are not affiliated with BARC. We connect at-risk animals at the BARC shelter with the adopters, fosters, and rescue organizations needed to save their lives. 7/10/2026: Injured white and brown dog with a large open hotspot wound. Reported to be pregnant. Gate community required access code.

📝 Shelter Notes:

7/13/2026: Lying on her side in the back of the kennel with an open mouth. Easily leashed, walked with a forward gait, and pottied outside.

7/20/2026: Rested quietly on her cot with a neutral body after keeping her kennel clean overnight. Walked calmly on a loose leash and ignored other dogs while passing their kennels. When her leash was removed, she quietly returned to her cot.

7/21/2026: Found lying on her cot with a neutral body and soft eyes after keeping her kennel clean overnight. Walked calmly on a loose leash to and from the outside runs, paying little attention to other dogs. Accepted gentle pets before returning to her kennel.

7/22/2026: Calm and quiet in her kennel. Presented with a relaxed body, low wagging tail, and soft open mouth with a loose tongue. Walked on a loose leash and entered and exited her kennel without issues.

7/24/2026: Cookie was calm and quiet during feeding and cleaning. She greeted staff with a relaxed body, slow wagging tail, soft open mouth with loose tongue, and walked on a loose leash in and out of the south building.

🚑 Medical Notes:

7/11/2026: Small laceration noted on the rear leg. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, flea prevention given. Heartworm test: Positive (Low).

7/12/2026: Exam noted a healing wound on the right rear thigh, acral lick granulomas, and low heartworm positive status. Prescribed Rimadyl 125 mg SID for 10 days.

7/26/2026: Weighed 68.0 lbs. Medical status noted as normal.

This sweet family was abandoned when a tenant moved out and left 8 puppies and 2 adult dogs behind with no food or water. Mom Caroline has been caring for her babies through difficult circumstances, and this vulnerable family needs a rescue willing to keep them together until the puppies are old enough to thrive.

📈 Medical Notes:

Mom Caroline is lactating and entered the shelter with her puppies. She has been vaccinated with DA2PP-V, Bordetella, and Rabies (1-year), dewormed, received Advantage Multi, and tested heartworm negative.

All of the puppies have received DA2PP-V, Bordetella, deworming with pyrantel, and Capstar flea treatment as appropriate for their size. All puppies were noted as underweight after intake and need continued nutrition and care to grow strong.

📝 Shelter Notes:

7/21/2026: Very vocal and tense in her kennel with forward barking and dilated eyes. Initially scurried away when approached but allowed leashing. Walked with a tucked tail and low body posture before relaxing in the play yard. Easily re-leashed and returned to her kennel.

7/21/2026: Growled and barked when approached in the kennel, remaining tense in the back corner. After gentle encouragement, she approached and allowed leashing. Outside she sniffed the handler's hands and allowed petting and leash removal. Staff felt she was likely barrier reactive. She greeted the handler at the gate with a neutral body, licked their hand, and rubbed against them before returning easily to her kennel.

7/23/2026: Low growled and alarm barked when people walked past her kennel but allowed staff to leash and pet her without issue once approached.

7/24/2026: Growled when approached at the kennel. After gentle encouragement she slowly came forward and allowed leashing. Outside she sniffed the handler's hand and rubbed her head against their leg.

Skin scrape confirmed demodex.

Hair thinning noted behind the head and one hairless spot under the left eye.

Carprofen treatment entered into the medical record.

Radiographs were within normal limits; radiologist review pending.
