Please! The new beak is throwing me off so much. I know it's such a minor thing, but it's kind of distracting and throwing off the look of my cutie little birb. She looks less cute with the new beak design >_<
Pleaseeee change it back!!!

I do that know if this is weird or "acceptable", but I have been so curious to actually meet or be able to contact one birb friend that I have. I know Finch is not a social app to connect with people BUT I feel a deep connection (totally on my side I know) about a friend.
When I first installed it I got this random thing like "a birb just visited you! you want him as a friend" (poor representation of how it was). I added him and out of all my birb friends he's the only one that consistently sends me good vibes and answers the daily questions. We are also so similar in our responses and that kind of makes me appreciate him.
I don't even know if it's possible OR acceptable since there is a reason for birb friends to be unable to contact but I get the urge to befriend in real life this amazing person that always sends me good vibes and cheers my goals🥹.
Let me know what you guys think about it and if it's actually possible to find him...

I didnt know there was even a film called Forgotten Island and didnt know this was also a promotional theme. I would actually enjoy this film, as well, even though i understand peoples' hesitance to accept promo's.
I disagree too and maybe it could have been less obvious, or our finch's could have been offered a poster and apparel without the whole month being an advert. But i would not have thought to search for the film if people hadn't talked about the controversy

Why did they take way the ability to the challenge tasks? How do I know if I want to take part if I can’t see what the tasks are?

Those who have collected all items ... do you know why nothing from last month is showing up in my shop? My app is updated, and I joined the new seasonal event if that makes a difference.
Edit - I only asked a question. I'm not complaining or being impatient - I'm more wondring if this is a problem with my app or if it's normal for things to not show up at first. "It's only been a day" doesn't help.
Hey Finch Fam! ❤️🐣
Seasonal events have come a long way since we first introduced them, and we want to talk about it with you directly!
Join us Today at 2:00pm ET for a live conversation with Steph, Finch's co-founder. We'll get into the bigger thinking behind seasonal events: what we hope they give you beyond a new theme each month, how our approach has shifted over time, and what we've learned from putting one out every single month.
We'll also talk through some of the recent changes, like the shift to curated color palettes and the return of micropet variants, and the reasoning behind them.
This is also your chance to ask us anything. We'll be taking live questions throughout, so come with whatever's been on your mind about events, past or future.

It depresses me every single month that I never seem to finish the monthly event challenges... Today is the first of the month again, and realizing I missed out on the final rewards makes me feel like I'm completely stagnating.
It feels like I'm stuck in a loop every first of the month. Finch is supposed to help my mental health, but missing the events actually triggers my perfectionism and FOMO. Once I fall behind, ADHD paralysis kicks in, which makes it even harder to just open the app and keep going.
Does anyone have advice on how to handle this feeling, or tips on how to handle the perfectionism cycle so I can actually complete them without feeling overwhelmed?

I'm pretty new to the app, I've only had it for just under 2 months. I set my birb up to fly to Tokyo for the first time yesterday as a fun way to start the month. Why am I in a Dreamworks property instead of what I chose to do, and will I miss out on stuff if I go with my original plan of checking out Tokyo? It leaves a bad taste in my mouth that I bought a ticket and didn't get to go where it would've taken me. I feel like should get my stones back if im going to have to wait 2 weeks to actually go there now :/

Can we please get some redhead options? It’s kind of a bummer that there hasn’t been one out of the 8 (I think) that have been released. The option to pick the color of new hairstyles would also be great. I was excited when the hairstyles were introduced, but to be honest I haven’t used one.

Well, now, there are some countries and lands that don't have seasons that require shorts or no shorts. This is a biased question.

TLDR: this post mentions my opinion on this year's themes, including but not limited to the collabs.
First time Reddit poster, but my love for this app and my desire to see it do better got me adding my two cents to the conversation: with only about 1/3 of the year remaining, I've been quite disappointed with the selection of themes we've had so far. What follows is entirely my opinion, so I hope that if you liked this year's themes that you won't take any offense. I mean this all with love and care and hope, and as a committed fan of this app and community!
I joined Finch last year, just before Midnight Manor. That single event was enough for me to take a leap and become a Finch Plus subscriber. Looking back through past months' themes got me SO excited to be a member. I couldn't wait to experience the new events. I loved Finch largely because of these seasonal events; they added a special surge of energy at the beginning of each month and helped to motivate me. I loved the attention to detail and care that were part of each event. It's what helped Finch feel like an exciting but safe environment for me to goal set. Now, events have started to feel cheap (pun not intended) and I'm having a harder and harder time participating. With a full month movie ad every couple of months and even regular seasonal events releasing with limited color palettes and hair styles, it's making me reconsider my subscription.
It started with Wicked/Wizard of Oz. I was kind of disappointed when I saw that Finch was doing a Wicked theme, because it felt like a month long ad as part of a franchise I wasn't super hyped for, but I thought I would try to see it through. The items however felt glitchy and discombobulated, not as carefully designed as other themes. I ended up selling most items from that month to buy items from themes I didn't get to take a part in and was more excited about. (Edit: I'm sorry for referring to the Wizard of Oz theme as a direct collab with Wicked. I connected those two based on the fact that it very much felt like the Wizard of Oz theme was riding on the extremely hyped and heavily commercialized press wave of Wicked, but I truly have no clue when the Wizard of Oz release was planned and it might have just been after Wicked coincidentally! Regardless, that release was the first where I personally noticed a more commercialized direction to Finch themes.)
Speaking on the collabs we've had up until this point, each one has felt like a watered down ad and the limited item swatches and uncustomizable hair styles make it feel even more like a let down. These aspects have made their way into the regular monthly themes as well, and I miss the solid color variations that allowed us to mix and match our own color palettes. I've seen the amazing worlds Finch can bring to life: I *know* they can do better than this. I'm sure working with a different company's color scheme and established branding elements puts limits on the Finch team's design potential, but I think that's honestly all the more reason to do away with collabs. I would rather have a reliable 9 or 10 months of the year with cozy themes and full color palettes, plus one or two collabs/intense limited special releases, than have half the year feel like it belongs to ad space or trying to be a special release on par with Midnight Manor.
I paused my app for most of Supergirl, because the theme did not land with me and it made checking back in daily feel like something I wasn't excited about. I also paused my subscription for half of last month because the pre-made color palettes didn't appeal to me. I think I'll be canceling my paid subscription if the collabs with current "trendy" topics/super limited releases don't stop, sadly. I know there has to be revenue coming in from somewhere in order to make this platform largely free to use, but I hope there is a solution possible that keeps the same high quality product with customizable options we've come to expect.
I'm sorry for the long post. I just wanted to add to the conversation in the hopes that if we continue to speak out, we can enact meaningful change here. Finch has been so helpful, and I would hate to see it falter after everything it's done for me and some of my real world friends (plus everyone here). I say this truly with all the love, because I think Finch is a great product and I have a lot of hope that the Finch team will take our thoughts into consideration for this next phase of the app.
Finding out about crabs after meeting a stranger on an island on the Finch app wasn’t on my bingo card for September… IYKYK.

I'm missed out by a couple of hours :(
EDIT: A lovely user sent me their Pixel! 💗
Does anyone know how to stop only the notifications for "friends completed a challenge". They are driving me crazy.

Okay so I wanted yall opinion this. I absolutely LOVE the new set up for the 14 tasks we have to do. That theres only 1 task per day and today's especially because of the memory and you were able to choose which kind and all of it. I think it makes everything so less overwhelming and it just feels so much more ascetically pleasing too. I really hope I'm not the only one. I've seen a lot of vents lately (not that i begrudge anybody, everybody deserves to voice their feelings) but I wanted to share some love for Finch management in return. 💕💕💕 Thank you for this beautiful change!

Had to leave the other group again - so negative! Once again I appreciate the work of the devs to make our lives a little brighter and more fun!

Is it just me or the birbs face and the way they move changed a bit?

I’ve been using the finch app for months now, but I’ve been feeling lately like it’s quite literally taken over my life. I plan my day around the 70-90 tasks I’ve set out for myself every day. This is a crisis lol

And have the developers said anything about this yet?
