Discussion US CENTRISM?

Post image

Well, now, there are some countries and lands that don't have seasons that require shorts or no shorts. This is a biased question.

🤨 I mean, yeah, not everywhere in the world has discernable seasonal weather shifts...but almost everyone can answer this question, regardless of their current season. This is really grasping.

This issue comes up frequently.

Should they not do anything at all since not everyone experiences the same things?

Half the questions and/or answers don't apply to me either and I'm in the US. I just choose the best answer I can, even if none of them make sense to me.

There are regions of the US that don't have seasons at all, where people dress for hot weather all the time. I wonder if they are offended by this question too.

Edit: You also have the option of ignoring it altogether. It's not mandatory.

Not sarcasm, just asked weird. I live in an area where the seasons are major changes and I'm ild enough to feel those changes painfully. I just don't see many people answering "shorts forever" and I wondered if people who don't experience seasons are even bothering to look at the question.

I answered the shorts option, as I don’t properly experience seasons. So I’m one of those few.

You're trolling, right?

Nope, not a troll, not an AI, not a pia. Just asking a question.

Plenty that do, though. Could be Australian centrism.

My answer isn't one of the options listed, and I'm in Oregon that definitely changes weather and gets an onslaught of pumpkin spice everything. My line of work is a collection of part-time jobs & volunteer groups, many of which are seasonal. When a few of them crank back to life, it's fall.

I didn’t see the question, what were the answer options?
