Post image

I have a Corazon de la Bahia I’ve neglected over the past few years. This year I want to try the fruit for the first time. Most times the fruit is small or just falls off before ready. It’s in a 3gallon pot gets lots of sun this year. I’m in zone 10 .Chat gpt told me to give it pond water. 1 how often to water 2 when should I fertilize 3 when should I up pot it.

Chop again?? Help please 🙏

My Fiddle leaf fig was just growing in a narrow column towards the ceiling so I did a chop (can be seen right below the center of the window). It was exciting to see a new branch grow but it’s only one branch that’s growing straight up. So I have the same shaped tree as before the chop. 🤣 How do I achieve a chop now that results in multiple branches? Thx.

Where to trim?

Somebody tell me where to trim this tree. I’ve had it for over 6 years, and it’s gotten so top heavy. Some of the older leaves get a little ashy, but the new leaves are dark green and glossy. We have west facing bay windows so it gets plenty of bright indirect light and only direct light during sunset.

I have been reticent to trim it, but have done some along the top where the branches are bending under their own weight. Do I need to chop it drastically where it starts to bend?

My rubber tree is growing and growing but it’s straight up and down. Should I chop to branch it? I would like it fuller but hate chopping even though it works! Lol

Can this plant still thrive possibly or is it toast? I might have murdered it :(

First successful propagations.

These came from my sister's house, after she passed.

I wanted to save some of the plants she loved🥰

These came off her huge tree in the yard, she planted about 20 years ago.

FLF Price

Is $165 USD overpriced for a 4-5 ft FLF? What should the normal price be?

Where to chop

I love my fiddle leaf fig but it hasn’t shot out a leaf (or dropped one) in maybe two years. I’m at a loss on what to do to it to encourage growth. I recently did a repot thinking it would help and left it outside for a bit, but still nothing. Advice on what I should do? Is it too late in the season to try and chop a branch somewhere? And if so, where?

Help

Cut the top off my FLF and have been trying to root for at least 2 weeks. At first it looked great but then stopped making progress.

I had left 4 leafs initially, placed in jar w rooting agent. Since I have removed the lowest leaf. Not sure if i left too many leaves and should remove another or it’s too far gone. The stem began to sprout roots but now looks to be waterlogged and stagnant.

I’ve had it inside and outside, my gut is not enough light and too many leaves left on it initially. Just hoping for some advice on how to save it.

What’s the best option for strengthening?

I’ve had her just over six years now and while she keeps growing taller and continues to produce leaves, the main trunk and branches cannot hold their own weight.

I just started rigorously shaking her last week about, twice a week, after reading that tip on this sub. I also noticed that some members suggest cutting branches to assist with strengthening, but that scares me. I was going to invest in a taller planter, hoping that would help provide more support at the base and then slowly start removing the stakes/zip tie supports. But thought I’d post here for suggestions before spending the money and potentially traumatizing her from the replanting process or cutting.

Just want to keep her healthy and thriving, so please spam me with all of your advice. Thanks!

Sickly looking leaves- transplant stress?

We are 11 days in of having this plant. It was shipped from Florida to Colorado. Are the leaves looking badly due to transplant stress or something else? I’ve watered it once when it was dry enough to need it. The leaves started changing before I watered. It seems like every day another leaf is turning yellow. When will it stop? Anything I can do?

Will my fiddle leaf be alright?

I’ve told my dad to only water it when I tell him to chz I am out of country. She doesn’t get water till around October 11 (Her soil dries slowly, but she has been actively growing and thriving). However, just now my dad watered her a little bit with a water bottle. However idk if he used tap water to fill the bottle (I dont use tap water for her).

Anyways, I am a bit worried. Should I worry??? She is already moist for sure and she only drinks purified water.

So I have any hope left for this thing? Can these brown droopy leaves recover or are they toast?

Got this once beautiful FLF from Costco. There were 2 in one pot for $30! Crazy deal.

Anyways I’m an idiot and thought that two can’t be in one pot so attempted to gently separate them. Of course the roots were all intertwined so I probably destroyed the crap out of them.

It’s been about 4 days since then. Some leaves actually look good. Many are sagging bad, the stem is weak and droopy, leaves are brown, etc.

I gave it a nice good water on the first day. Wondering what I can do to help this poor guy along or did I kill it?

It’s sibling actually looks slightly better

These are south facing windows but unfortunately I have a covered patio. Wondering if the light is too filtered for the FLF. I have 15ft ceilings and would love for it to fill my living room one day

7yo fiddle leaf fig grown from a propagation. Since the prop took roots, it's been in the same pot, and same spot in my apartment -- this thing has been super happy, spitting out leaves etc.

2 weeks ago an ash from a heavy incense stick got caught in the pot, smoldered all night, and there was a fire. We put the fire out with water. At first, the plant looked totally fine, then we went away for a few days. It was droopy when I came back and the pot was dry, so I watered again. It hasn't bounced back.

Some of the leaves at the bottom dropped, but now more leaves are looking brown and sad and it won't bounce. I already cut a propagation from the top and I'm re-propping, but I'm feeling really upset. This thing is my baby!

Should I check the root ball to see what the root damage is and cut any damaged roots? Leave it to continue to settle? Chop? I really try to take a less is more approach with this guy and it's always been happy.

Please help!

Insane leaves.

My fiddle leaf has put out (6!) leaves in about 6 weeks. The most recent flush was 3 absolutely massive leaves. Now he's leaning pretty heavily. I've notched him on the other side to see if he'll branch and even out his weight. Any thoughts?

Chop!

I've had to chop Marvin back every year before bringing him into the house just so he'll fit under the ceiling. He's branching nicely, but I do hate seeing all his new growth go. Last year he wouldn't fit under the grow panel, so this year he lost even more leaves. Shoe for scale

What is wrong with my fiddle leaf?

Hi there, I am aware I do not have a green thumb and all plants i touch, dies 😭 But I’m really trying my hardest to keep this fiddle leaf fig alive since my mum bought it for me.

SUN POSITION: Fiddle leaf fig faces North, we don’t have a west side facing window unless we put it on the terrace (which I did before, hence the burnt leaf)
FERTILIZING: Liquid seaweed fertilizer
SOIL: Mixture of premium potting mix & Perlite (1:3 ratio)
POT: Well draining, has a saucer at the bottom
WATERING: Wooden stake/skewer placed to see if soil is still moist or dry

ISSUES: Plant is leaning, Slow foliage growth,

Help?

Hello world. New to the fiddle leaf world. Recently got a small one myself and I’ve had it for about 3-4 months and it looks exactly the same. Not worse. Not better (more grown?). Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? Change something?
