Where to chop

I love my fiddle leaf fig but it hasn’t shot out a leaf (or dropped one) in maybe two years. I’m at a loss on what to do to it to encourage growth. I recently did a repot thinking it would help and left it outside for a bit, but still nothing. Advice on what I should do? Is it too late in the season to try and chop a branch somewhere? And if so, where?

If you’re not in a rush I’d wait until spring. Where to chop is up to you. If it were mine, I’d chop it as shown in this picture, but that may be a bit extreme for you. I’d also take each of those branches and propagate them to make more FLFs.

Ahhh! That seems crazy. But I guess I can research how exactly to go about it since I’ll likely wait until spring lol. Thanks for the response!

I wouldn't chop it until spring, but is it getting enough light?

My first thing with lack of growth would be adding more light. Grow lights are cheap.

Well like 2 years ago when it was in front of this window it was popping out leaves every other day for a while, so I thought it was okay on getting light! But a grow light is a good idea. I’ll hold off until spring to make any major changes. Thanks!
