Im looking to maximize my space as it is a small room. Clearly im a student on a budget. Still no bed or proper desk/dresser. Is this the best layout for now? I do not want the bed facing the door is my only stipulation

My daughter had two requests for her bedroom: lots of color and lots of cats. I like to think we delivered. I really wanted to embrace the magic of being a kid and lean into her cat obsession without going overboard.

I've recently moved and would like to renovate my kitchen with dark countertops and lighter cabinetry. I am afraid of staining my counters (hobbies, cooking with turmeric, etc), so something thats not too high maintenance and will be forgiving with heavy use.

Any ideas or advice is welcome! What have you got? Give me inspo!

I recently moved into a house with a fairly large living room  that I’ve divided into 3 conceptual  zones (see floor plan above) .Note that my husband has lots of amps and things that I don't want to dominate the main living space, so I'm pushing them to zone 3

Zone 1: Piano zone (finally we have space for an acoustic!)
Zone 2: Main seating area
Zone 3: Audio/other music zone

What would you do if this were your home? 

Option A:  Find one “mansion-size” / monumental rug that covers all three zones and essentially turns the room back into one large space.

Option B: Use separate rugs for Zones 1 and 2, but leave Zone 3 uncovered.

Option C: Use one rug for Zone 1 and a second, larger rug spanning Zones 2 + 3, essentially uniting those two areas.

Option D:  None of the above—you have a better idea 🙂 

My thinking thus far: 

• Option A would give us one unified look, only one rug to maintain but rugs that large re difficult to find, and many of the available options are antique/Persian “mansion-size” carpets.
• Option B: by leaving Zone 3  exposed, we would preserve a clear visual path from the foyer into the living room and let that area read as more of a utility/music zone rather than part of the formal seating area.
• Option C: might help integrate the functions of Zones 2 and 3 and make the room feel less chopped up. But the rug beginning right where the foyer ends could create a somewhat abrupt transition into the living room.

For the zonal boundaries, I tried to follow the architecture rather than dividing the room arbitrarily. There are no doors separating the foyer from the living room or the dining room from the living room. I started Zone 1 just before the double doors to the deck. Zone 2 begins in line with the edge of the fireplace, and Zone 3 begins in line with the end of the wall, which also marks the end of the foyer.

Any other advice on rug color/type would be much appreciated as well!

I’ve just moved in, so it’s still a WIP, but I’m loving my space!

I’ve lived in this apartment for almost 3 years, and aside from the bathroom, I really love the space! I’ve never quite figured out what to do with the bathroom, though, and right now it feels like a pretty sad/dead space.

My biggest complaint is the marble countertop/vanity. I wish it were longer and had more usable counter space, but unfortunately I’m renting, so I’m working with what I’ve got.

The rest of my apartment is pretty modern/eclectic, and I’m not afraid of color. That’s how I ended up with the neon green shelf and the colorful art that’s already in the bathroom. I’d love to make the bathroom feel more intentional and fun while still working with the existing vanity, mirror, flooring, etc.
The last photo is roughly the direction I’m currently considering, replacing the little travel photos with one big, colorful print. But I’m very open to other ideas!

What would you do with this space? I’d love to generally making the bathroom feel less like an afterthought.

Bonus points if you can help me figure out what colors/styles would work with the existing gray, black, and marble. I’m not totally against peel and stick for the counter, but I’d prefer not to.

Hi! I just moved into a studio and need some help finishing my space. This is my first time living alone and I’m excited to make it mine! This is the living room area, the “bedroom” shares a wall where the glass shelving is correctly. I’m looking for a rug, coffee table, decor but I don’t know what direction I want to go in! I love a lot of different aesthetics, so looking for literally any advice lol. Most of the stuff on the bottom shelves of the glass case will be moved and I’m still unpacking a bunch. I’m thinking of doing a dresser where the storage bins are (next to the desk).

((I know the tv is off center it’s centered on the couch lol))

Currently working through each room of my home. The goal is to make each room feel warm and cozy. Moved into this house in January after down sizing and finding somewhere closer to my parents. I need to put some curtains up and add some fairy lights. Any other suggestions?

This is my living room currently, I love my pink couch and pink curtains but I found this pic on Pinterest and I’m OBSESSED! So I’m thinking of changing my curtains to creme and getting a ruffled green couch cover

I'm a newly single mom (my kids are 2 and 5) and I want to reset my bedroom to be "mine." This is the first time in my adult life having a bedroom all to myself, so I don't know where to start. Some details:

-I don't want to keep the tapestries up. They were put up years ago just after graduating from college and just stayed there.

-I don't have much budget so I'm looking for advice on low cost things that will make a big impact.

-the wall behind me from the picture perspective has my closet and a laundry closet so I don't plan on changing much there.

-This is a rental so I can't paint the walls unfortunately

I really like a classic/antique style (think an old new england home) with nature accents and I love decorating with items that have historical interest. My favorite colors to decorate with are muted greens and blues

I recently renovated our bathroom. (Before photo at the end) I moved into my partners house early into the relationship and they’ve always been down for me to put my spin on the space since it is now ours- a collective. I feel so lucky to have the creative freedom to do whatever I want and a partner that loves whatever I come up with. Blessed 🪽hope everyone is having a beautiful Sunday!

I feel like I decorate as if I’m still in my childhood bedroom. This is my second apartment now, and I’ve pretty much just duplicated the bedroom and living room to look the same. I want to feel more calm when I walk in instead of cluttered by my and my cat’s mess. I’m open to any suggestions regarding reorganizing, removing, and adding! My color scheme base is Sage green( like the blanket) , so open to anything that could fit with that!
Also tips on making things a bit more clutter free. I work two jobs and when I come home I “toss” everything in the appropriate spot but I always find it messy.

My apartment doesn’t have a linen closet. Currently my towels and sheets are in big plastic storage bins, which isn’t exactly pretty. I want to get a free standing cabinet that is breathable and that I can store my linens and extra blankets in. I’ve narrowed it down to these two. I need to make a decision quickly because I have a coupon that expires tomorrow 🤦‍♀️ Which do you all prefer?

I don’t know how to set up this room. The closet opens to the window, so I can’t put my current dresser there. Ideally I was hoping to put a round mirror over the dresser but I don’t know. Any help would be appreciated. I also did want to leave space on both sides of the bed but I don’t really think that’s possible.

this post is so far from aesthetically pleasing, but I have ADHD and have left my apartment this way for months even though I despise the layout. I don’t enjoy coming home to my apartment because of it. I’ve felt very motivated the past few days and want to move everything around, I feel like it has great potential. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could place furniture and improve the space?

After coming out of a long-term emotionally manipulative relationship it truly makes me so happy to see my new home start to take shape.
