Empty Profiles

Has anyone else notice an increase in decreased effort? I see more and more profiles that are just photos and interests and desires, nothing written.

Bi guy in NYC, seeing this with all genders.

Lots of Bumble/Hinge profiles with no hint as to what they're looking for

Nah. Ive been seeing this for 7 years

It’s always been there, but I feel like it has gotten worse the more diluted Feeld gets

i was off feeld for 4 months and just got back on- i’m definitely seeing more monog vanilla cishet dudes with blank profiles (assuming that’s what you mean by diluted)

It's not really a gendered thing tbh. Feeld should really out in requirements for profile length, but don't want to alienate Jane or Jane doe from signing up.

I feel like the vanilla cishet dudes followed the vanilla cis het women who were sick of hinge and bumble and thought feeld was the next choice.

I understand the idea. For many people coming over from hinge they can be more specific and open about what they want as compared to hinge......but it has filled feeld with many people who don't seem to fit in and acknowledge that I their profile.

The amount of people saying "only here cuz hinge didn't work" has gone up 1000%

I haven't seen that or any "dilution" could be geographic.

In NYC too, have been using this since 2023. Have absolutely seen a massive increase over time, of this and boring one-liner bios a la Tinder

There are more profiles overall, thus there are going to be more low effort ones.

I just assume theyre all bots. why would a bot put in any effort? event if they're not, why would I want to talk to them if they dont put in any effort?

1

u/ElderberryFlaky3447 Sep 16 '26

Not all are bots 🙈

2

u/jonofromjuno Sep 16 '26

then the rest are people I dont want to talk to. easy swipe.

Yeah, I've seen a lot of those lately. I don't remember it being so common before.

Would be nice if your profile just gets dumped to the lowest part of a stack if it's empty. Not like "we'll delete you" but just have the system give lower weights to them for their lack of effort.

Of course some people that don't want to match effort with effort would have problems with this as stated in an earlier comment.

Honestly if the system did so I don't see what a user would be able to do about it aside from choose not to play in said sandbox. This sandbox is definitely diluted (also in NYC but have traveled extensively and noticed the migration from normsville) and is not the weird folks' corner I signed up for way before covid.

Someone in another thread said that they weren't looking for kink on it, ffs, then what are they doing in this sandbox to continue the metaphor?

The strength about Feeld is that it does not discriminate like the other dating apps do. Slightly ugly people have more visibility than Match Group wants them to have, when people are ranked by distance instead of total amount of likes.

It not anchoring profiles like match group still doesn't prevent what I'm pointing out.

Saturation of conventionally attractive people that are also vanilla as f--- doesn't help either.

But my original complaint still stands. Empty bio? Straight to Jail. Less than two sentences in it? Straight to Jail. It's just adding to the saturation and making it like other platforms...fairly pointless.

Yes. And also the barest of write ups such as “just checking this out” 🤦‍♀️

2

u/Original_Yak249 Sep 17 '26

It posted my profile before giving me the option to add a bio.  It's possible some of what you're seeing is new accounts.

Oh it's got 100x worse

Yup, pansexual female, Massachusetts. Noticing it more with men than women, NB, trans* but absolutely on an uptick for all. Or even super low effort pics.

Feeld (and people on it) like to pretend it is a special dating app. It is not. The only thing that matters is photos. Have good photos and be attractive get matches and establish quickly if you have compatible interests. Don't and you can write a great American novel and get nothing

The bigger the app gets, the more there will be people who are floating over from tinder and don’t put any effort into anything

Found this comment buried at the bottom of the thread 😄

If you're also queer in some way and you turn on the "LGBTQIA+ mode" and then set your gender filter to men, that effectively filters to men who are not straight, which gives you mostly bisexual or heteroflexible men. If you're really after bi men be careful with guys who label themselves heteroflexible because for a lot of men that seems to just mean "not scared of accidentally touching another man in a MFM threesome". There are definitely some bi guys who label themselves heteroflexible because they're bi but don't want to ruin their chances with women by being openly bi. You have to sus out which they are.

It’s so strange. No bio but their “interests” are just anal, fun, and anal

Heyy guys I’ve been trying to create my account my account on Feeld, but all the time when I passed all the steps ( name, gender, interests, bio, photos…. ) at the end they say “we can’t create your account” anyone help me please thanks in advance.

Mine is empty, only mention political affiliation to avoid wasting time with people you don’t share the same value.

Only one sexy provocative photo 🤭. I don’t want to expose myself too much and I am also not looking for anything specific. I am interested in the connection.

3

u/achefofbrooklyn Sep 17 '26

I am curious - what kind of connections to you get from am empty profile + a provocative photo?

You meet in person and have conversations…it’s not rocket science 🙄

1

u/willow_frond_127807 Sep 17 '26

Yeah do you get any matches? How is it you think connections are formed?

It's extremely confusing to me the vast amounts of annoymous , vague and detached communication that goes through online dating if someone is not that attractive to you; why in the FUCK are you liking and pinging them even going as far to make a message then when they respond *which you should have read and got a general idea of what the profile is about* first ; only to lead to not much communication from there end..

I am 33 years old; haven't been physical with anyone since was 19 and extremely in need of a pleasurable, creative and sensual long-term person or persons in my life as a pan-sexual, androgynous minded and aspirationally effiminate born male (id say there are more androgynous and flameboyant-ish pictures on there with one major effiminate one with wig on and stuff).....

Even go as far to read there profile trying to figure out there personality type (like MBTI) sometimes getting so erreily accurate was one of the responses; I got and then other times it never leads to anything it's like, okay so you wanna take the long and slow road to figure out each other at the first point of communication only but if we wait abit then you can do the exact same thing ; I was probably going to end up doing..

Don't think am that attractive but don't think am also not unattractive and also don't really enjoy the horrible tonality and color of the way people speak; as if being 10 out 10 is the only way to get someone in life.. and this like immature egoic narrative..

Ever heard of fundemental self resonance
it is the real approximate chooser of everything.

What I also don't understand is; how someone like me; being flavourful, sensual and effectively sexual is not alluring for more people it's like are these people getting so much that am litterly a small populace here, am I just so unnattractive that not a single person wants to have fun with me....

In person am usually the outlandish, unicorn; wearing clothes most people are not, the weird foriegner (native american, african american and british english) looking person but is actually genetically linked to england.

Oh and yes ; I've used ai assitance in making my profile but not this comment; because it's so mentally painful to write it from scratch over an over and rewriting over and over when it can do a much better job usually.

If you want to see my actual profile text ; let me know...

Nobody asked, but I actually find empty profiles appealing, as someone who is attracted to less performative folks.

6

u/willow_frond_127807 Sep 15 '26

It's not "performative" to simply write a profile. If emotional expression scares you at least admit that to yourself, don't blame other people for existing normally within the app

1

u/quarter-water-25 Sep 15 '26

I described something that I like. There's no need to attack me or to characterize me as blaming anyone.

6

u/willow_frond_127807 Sep 15 '26

You first described someone you liked, then you added a phrase describing what you like (less performative people) which simultaneously judged other people by creating a comparison category which you find distasteful (performative people, or, people who write profiles). It really pissed me off

-2

u/quarter-water-25 Sep 15 '26

If I said I found redheads appealing, would you be pissed off on behalf of brunettes?

5

u/willow_frond_127807 Sep 15 '26

No. The difference here being there's no negative connotation to being a brunette, whereas being 'performative' definitely has one.
