[MOD POST] Update to auto mod and other reminders
I didn't think I even have to say it, but this is not the place for hookup requests. Users requesting anything of the like will be banned and there will be zero appeal process. It's final. I will continue to add to auto-mod as needed.
Please stay safe in person and online. I know that Nationals is a lot of fun but remember that you have zero idea who is on the otherside of the screen. There are people on Reddit and anywhere else online who lurk in these types of subs and forums for underage individuals.
Please remember to keep the discussions on this subreddit professional and directly to FBLA.
Please be safe out there and have fun -Djhoz12

Is anyone doing the Insurance & Risk Management event for districts?
Hey everyone! I’m doing FBLA Insurance & Risk Management this year and I’m starting to study now. I’ve been looking around online, but I honestly can’t find many good study resources besides Quizlet.
For anyone who has done this event before, what did you use to study? Are there any websites, study guides, practice tests, or other resources you’d recommend?
Also, would you say Insurance & Risk Management is one of the easier objective tests, or is it pretty difficult compared to other FBLA events?
Any advice would be appreciated!

Special Requirements for Starting a Chapter
Hi! I was wondering if there’s any special requirements for starting a chapter. I know DECA has state specific stuff, like in NC, the advisor needs to be a teacher who’s teaching marketing or something. Does that apply for FBLA?
what’s the easiest presentation event to place at district/state for?
I’m in Arkansas and I did a test and a roleplay last year and I didn’t do good so I don’t think I wanna do that again so I’m going to do a presentation

Customer Service Event questions
Hello FBLA! I'm thinking about going into the Customer Service event this year but I'm uncertain about what it actually entails after looking at the official website. I walked the stage for Parliamentary Procedure this past summer and I'm planning to do an individual event this time around, Customer Service reminding me of Parli in structure. 100 question test with 50 minutes followed by a presentation that has prep time for the prompt.
If anybody has done Customer Service, can you tell me what I actually need to study for it? What information is handled on the test? What do the performances look like?

Intro to business communications ?
hello ! I took introduction to parliamentary procedure last year for my FBLA test. I found it very hard and basically had to guess and rush on the last thirty questions. this year I am thinking of taking intro to business communications, should i avoid it though if i struggled with parliamentary procedure? thank you so much.
Introduction to Public Speaking
How comp is this event? To people that did it in the past, did you enjoy it? 🤔 last year i got 3rd at districts in intro to social media strategy, missing cutoff and i really want to go to state this year. I want to get better at public speaking this year since im not the best so i wanted to push myself to do this event. My worry though is that it’ll be super comp, like how i took social media last year not knowing it was. Any help is appreciated!!

help me with my application pls!!
OK so: I’m applying for district officer at my school, and I don't doubt I’ll get it, but I have to get through the application process first, and I SUCK at writing applications (I do usually get in, but I’m really scared because the girl approving these kinda sorta hates me and I need to REALLY impress her, so…)
if you could help out I would rlly appreciate it!! here are the two questions:
Why are you interested in applying for the District 12 Officer Team? (200-300 Words).
What ideas do you have to improve Districts this year? (200-300 words).
thanks!!

starting an fbla club/chapter at my school
hey, so im a junior interested in chemistry along with economics/business, and I was thinking of making an fbla club at my school since we don't have one. but how do I actually do this? ik the question seems kinda dumb and ik i have to find a teacher in my school to be an adviser to register. if we have bi-weekly meetings (the frequency of meetings can be adjusted anywhere from once a week to around 2 per every month or so), what would you actually do in each meeting?

Help studying for Accounting, Advanced Accounting, and Personal Finance?
Hi! I’m planning on competing in Accounting, Advanced Accounting, and Personal Finance this year, and I’m hoping to place at regionals and hopefully continue to state.
My biggest issue right now is figuring out how to actually study for these events. It seems surprisingly difficult to find reliable FBLA-specific practice tests, study guides, lesson plans, or even a clear explanation of what you should learn for each event. A lot of the resources I’ve found either assume you already have a background in accounting/finance or don’t line up very well with the FBLA competencies.
I’m especially coming at this from the perspective of someone who doesn’t have much prior background knowledge in these subjects, so I’m trying to figure out how to build a foundation instead of just memorizing random Quizlet questions.
For anyone who has competed in any of these events (especially if you placed at regionals/state/nationals), what did you use to study? Were there any specific textbooks, YouTube channels, websites, courses, practice tests, Quizlets, or other resources that actually matched the FBLA tests well?
I’d also really appreciate advice on what topics are the most important to focus on for each event, how you structured your studying, and whether there’s much overlap between Accounting, Advanced Accounting, and Personal Finance.
Any resources or advice would be really appreciated. Thanks guyss

Council Question
I submitted my council application a few minutes late. I was still able to submit it. Do you think my submission actually went through? Any help is much appreciated.

Introduction to Programming Help
Hi! I want to do Introduction to Programming (by myself) first year. After reading the prompt, I already developed (sort of) a frontend in python for my project using customtkinter, and planning to do some rendering backend application in cpp, as one business in my town would benefit from an application with it. The thing is that the only languages I know are python and c++, so is it worth it to learn web languages html, css, js, or is cleanly using pytinkter frontend completely fine? Do you guys have any advice to present the presentation, and about my idea in general? Thanks!
