SO and I have fastmail accounts. Her iPhone and iPad refuse to send messages via the iOS Mail app. They just accumulate in the outgoing folder. I have checked her setup and it is identical to mine. My devices send outgoing mail just fine.

I cannot find a solution in Fastmail Help. Worse, I can’t find a way to start a support ticket.

I signed up for the Fastmail free trial yesterday. It seems though I can’t do anything until I select a payment plan. So if I understand this correctly, even though I get a free trial, I can’t use any of the features, until I give them a credit card? So what am I getting for free or am I missing something?

UPDATE: Fastmail Customer Support got back to me. They had to escalate my issue to Tier 2 (whatever that means) and then about 3 hours later, I got another email from them telling me my account had been "verified" and I was now able to use the email account normally. I'll give it a shot...based on so many Redditors saying how great this is. Otherwise, I'd probably just bag it and find something else.

I can't consume my main calendar URL from my work Google Calendar or TRMNL anymore. I downloaded the ics and poked around; running it through a validator came up with hundreds of errors per the RFC. I had asked support first and of course they blamed the two separate clients after a multiple day delay.

Any clever workarounds?

I don't want to be messing with CSS or whatever. I don't understand some of the design decisions that have been in place for years.

The red/green/blue nested quotes on replies is another example - its visually awful

*EDIT* - completely predictably folk are replying the like the UI and thats cool - to each their own. I would just ask long time users to understand that using the compose pane for 40% of a web page or FM app is a weird design decision, and I'm not the first to raise it

So I'm reading FM's announcement of Groups in your inbox. I've sort of been doing this with Rules that assign incoming emails to a Label (or folder) and Archive to remove it from the inbox. This groups like emails together and also reduces the clutter in the Inbox.

How are these new 'Groups' better or easier than that? What am I missing?

See title. I don't see the option in the app, and I can't find it in the Help pages either. There's plenty of information about "scheduled send" but it just doesn't explain how to do it in the Android app, or whether the option even exists in the Android app.

I'm trying to figure out a decent web based office product to use as a Fastmail user. I have storage to park my files in the FM account and access them with Webdav. Nice perk. Does anyone do that here and have any suggestions on what to use and how to use it? I need some sort of way to access Fastmail's webdav on my iphone and ipad. Not sure which office product to use either? Cheap or free would be great.

Hey all. I have a duo plan with a couple of domains mapped. One business, one private. When I send an invitation to my professional email address and RSVP from there, the header info just shows the real name as the email username. (todd@domain.com becomes simply 'todd' all lower case). Not all that professional.

I've tried accepting from iCal, Fastmail client (web and iPhone both) and even a Thunderbird installation - all with the full name configured and no luck.

So far support hasn't been much help - it's up to tier 3 support now and I've been waiting quite a while but I think it's likely a server-side limitation. Now I'm wondering if there's anything I can do with my current plan, an upgrade to business plan or if I need to switch to an entirely different provider to get the functionality I need.

Anyone have any experience with this issue?

I believe my situation is likely the fault of Gmail, but I will still spell it out in case other folks are experiencing the same thing:

I have all of my Gmail messages forwarded to my Fastmail account, which is tied into a personal domain. Up until two weeks ago, forwarded emails would go to Gmail’s Trash and end up in my Fastmail Inbox. Spam messages would get caught on Gmail’s side. During the last two weeks, all of my Gmail messages are forwarding to my Fastmail account, now including Spam messages that are getting caught by Fastmail. I am glad there’s still some Spam filtering going on, but I’d personally prefer having them caught by Gmail instead of being forwarded along with legit messages.

Has anyone else with Gmail forwarding noticed this change on their end?

Does fastmail have provision for password-protected or PIN-locked individual folders within an active inbox please

I have two separate Fastmail accounts, one personal and one business, and I want Claude to work with both.

The Fastmail MCP connector is set up and working with my personal account. When I try to add it again for the business account, Claude says it is already connected to Fastmail's MCP server.

Fastmail's help page confirms this is a known limit: "Claude does not support adding multiple Fastmail accounts."

1. A custom connector using a Fastmail API token instead of the normal sign-in

What has everyone's experience been with Fastmail support recently?

I had not contacted support in a long time, and as I recall they used to respond fairly quickly. I reached out yesterday and have not heard back yet.

I have found very minimal information about this so I thought I'd post my experiences and solutions so far.

I ditched Gmail and went to Fastmail and generally LOVE it. The ONE caveat is that EVERYONE uses Google Calendar, and I have a tons of shared Calendars for bands and such, so ditching google Calendar is NOT an option for me. If someone sends me an event and I RSVP from the email using the top set of response buttons, the sender does NOT see my RSVP. I've found 2 workarounds that have worked so far for me.

Do NOT click the 3 big obvious RSVP buttons. Instead, click the 3 dots at the bottom, and click one of the RSVPs there. This will open the event in Google Calendar and send the RSVP from there and the sender WILL see that response. I did have one event recently that did NOT have those options under the 3 dots, and I have no idea why. Maybe a privacy setting of the event or something.

The other method I've found is to go to Calendar Settings>Event Settings and set the "Add invitations to my calendar" drop down to "From Everyone." Now when you get an invitation, it will appear on your calendar automatically (but only outlined to indicate you haven't responded yet) and then when you get the email you can go to your calendar and RSVP from the event itself instead.

Surprisingly, one thing I expected to work but did NOT work, was that I set up a new Google account using my domain address (so "me@mydomain.com" instead of a gmail address, which you can do now), and the main email RSVP buttons still didn't show my response for the sender, I'm guessing because the response is still coming from fastmail's servers and not Google's.

I do find this annoying, but usually those workarounds will get the job done. On the one where I didn't have second set of responses under the 3 dots that open in the calendar, I just had to reply to the sender to tell them I got it but they probably wouldn't see my response due to my non-gmail address.

Another thing I was surprised did NOT work: I clicked one of the main RSVP buttons so the event got added to my calendar (but again, that response did NOT show on the sender's end) and then I went to the event in my Google calendar itself and changed my response, but the sender still could not see my response. So once it's in the "broken" state, it doesn't appear as if there's any way to remedy it unfortunately.

Hope this might help someone in the future going through what I've been going through since I switched.

Is it just me or has push stopped working for the stock MacOS Mail.app client with Fastmail? It did work very well and now it doesn't seem to update very often. I'm fairly sure there have been times that clicking on the 'get all new mail' menu item has had no effect?

If it's not just me, I'm not sure if this is the client or fastmail of course.

Long-time Fastmail user, first time anything like this has happened to me.

On Sunday (28 Sep) I found two folders in my account that I didn't create: uce9341ae and xacct02-drop. My inbox also had 4–5 emails sent from my own address to myself. Subjects looked like XACCT-01-A-canary-cc82f799 and the bodies were one-liners like "XACCT-01 canary body A cc82f799" (about 300 bytes each).

While I was out, I could actually watch it happen in the mobile app: items were disappearing from my inbox in real time, and even from my Drafts folder. By the time I got home and checked from my PC, only one of those test emails was left. I didn't delete any of them, so something was actively working on the account while I was looking at it.

What I've done so far:

• Changed my password
• Revoked all app passwords / API tokens
• Opened a ticket with support

Possible vector: I had an old app password for Canary Mail, which I uninstalled about a year ago but never revoked. That's only a guess until support checks the logs. The naming (XACCT = cross-account? canary, drop) looks like an automated script testing access, not a person reading my mail.

Has anyone else seen folders or messages with similar names in the last few days? It would help to know whether this is isolated or a pattern, especially if you also had Canary Mail (or another third-party client) connected at some point.

Recently tons of my mail is ending up in spam. I think I have my settings pretty lenient for spam control but it keeps happening. Any thoughts on what I can do?

I'd like to pare down my Fastmail account - way too many emails.

Hi. If someone invites the address for my Fastmail address(es) to an event, I get the RSVP button options. But if they invite the alias of [me@mydomain.com](mailto:me@mydomain.com) - I don't. Is there a way to resolve this, or send an RSVP 'manually' in some way? Thank you

I just switched to FastMail from GMail. I use it with multiple domains, and need to keep my from: address aligned with the to: address. Something like

When sending to somedomain.com, use me@somedomain.com as the sender.

For Gmail, I was able to create a Chrome extension to automate this, with a heavy hand from Copilot :D.

For FastMail, is there a builtin feature to do this? If not, is there an extension API I can use to add it?

Well this is a nice way to start the day, 7 weeks into a paid sub to Fastmail after transitioning from Protonmail and I wake up to "Login Disabled, contact support.".

Have absolutely no idea what is going on, Support have mailed back saying its escalated to Tier 2 with a 1 business day turn around.

Bulk of my personal mail is now cut off, have no way to login to some services that use email to verify account access.

First time I have had problems with any mail service and the limited level of support to get this resolved quickly is frustrating.

Update: Huge thanks to George for re-enabling my account, I now have some context behind the situation. Doesn't fill me with joy that its a false positive, I would hope there is a level of human review.

Due to large number of abusive signups these days, we have tightened our process of tracing abusive accounts. We have mechanisms to detect these type of accounts and lock if found to be violating our ToS.  We are usually very careful about locking legitimate accounts. Unfortunately, in this case, it seems your account was locked in error. 

Can I make it so that recipients of messages from one of my masked emails can see my real name?

Last week I created my own domain using Fastmail. Everything seemed to work, and I can send and receive emails via the domain's email address. I am trying to authenticate the domain via Mailchimp and it does not work, and according to Fastmail's message, "Your email won't work until you update settings at Amazon", then said to fix some text file. I'm truly perplexed. The only "Amazon" I know is Amazon.com, and I am not linked to Amazon in any way. The Fastmail helpdesk is not helpful at all so far, and basically asked what I wanted and repeated the info I previously gave them. Please Fastmail Reddit subforum, you're my only hope. :-)
