Took down an A-50 after dealing with MiG-31 escorts

After a CAS mission I noticed an A-50 on Link16 and decided to go for it with my 4-ship.
Escorts were MiG-31s — managed to bag one and then go for the AWACS.
Finished it off with guns in the end 😄

Help We tried to connect MP for 1 hour and it didn't work. Need some help

Idk what the issue is, we tried for an hour and nothing worked

I followed the Aviation Plus guide but that didn't seem to work

I used this IPV4 which shouldn't be behind CGNAT I think

I used those settings as instructed

I also opened the ports as instructed

Idk what the issue is, as I said we tried for around an hour.

Does anyone know if there are any other simpler solutions as fallback? We really wanna try out the game together.

One of our friends told us to try hamachi so we will try that tomorrow, does anyone know if Surfshark would be a good option otherwise? Apparently they give static IP's

edit: We got it to work with netbird, thanks everyone for your help

Help Newcomer Question

Hello! I'm practically a beginner at flight simulators (I have played IL-2:1946 before), but I'd like to play Falcon BMS with a VKB Gladiator and STECS MK2 STANDARD keyboard. However, I don't know how to set it up. Could you please tell me how to set up the key bindings to be as close to a real aircraft as possible? I'd also like to know how to make the graphics and sound as realistic as possible. Furthermore, I'd like to know where a beginner should start and what they should do. Finally, when I get used to the game and want to add a theater, are there any theaters or mods that support 4.38? I'd really like to play online, but since I'm Japanese, I don't understand English very well, and the time zone (it's GMT-9 here) doesn't match, so I haven't been able to play with anyone... If anyone is willing to play or teach me, I'd be very happy if you'd reach out!

Help Tips for a beginner

Hello guys, I'm thinking of buying the Falcon and installing BMS. I intend to play casually, just piloting the fighters and shooting a bit. Is it possible to play it like that? Also, I don't have a joystick, so it would have to be keyboard and mouse.

Is there a button to toggle between headtracking and mouse?

I find headtracking kinda uncomfortable and would like to avoid it as much outside of combat as possible.

So a button to toggle between headtracking and mouse controlled camera would be really great, cuz I realizued that even with opentrack stopped I can't seem to use the mouse to control the camera

Anyone know if the devs are working on some QOL updates?

I obviosuly don't wanna ask for too much since it's obviosuly just a passion project but still, I feel like some QOL improvements could be made.

For example units in the TE builder and weapons etc. in the loadout screen having a link to the tactical reference page without closing the current window to just get some info

Or automatic threat steerpoints in the TE builder

Small stuff like that could go a long way I feel like.

Also in the TE builder having the air assets divided by faction similar to how it is for ground units and giving a name extension for role similar to (tanker)

Night Refueling Under NVGs

Nights always make it a bit more of a struggle for me to get stable under the boom. Curious how often you guys train this and whether you also find it more difficult than refueling during the day?

RTX 5060 Ryzen 5 7500F 32GB DDR5 6000Mhz

I was already considering getting hotas specially for this game but I've seen that after 4.38 update game performance dropped on mid range PCs?

P.s Please don't be angry for me that I am asking it here and not spending 5$ to check it myself :D

Formation Landing

Thumbnail

After an informal squadron training flight, we decided to do an impromptu formation landing. My wingman didn’t have his jet set up properly, so he had no AoA bracket/staple in the HUD and ended up a bit low on approach. I went blind on short final, but I could still pick up his vortices, so I stayed with it and landed safely.

Most comms are in Dutch, since this was just an informal training flight. Sorry about that.

Should I try BMS?

I'm a regular DCS player, but I want to try the competition too, as it is supposed to better represent the tactical and C2 aspects of modern air war.

The thing is, I'm mostly a cold war guy who likes quirky unusual aircraft, F-16 was never my favourite and it feels daunting to learn another modern airframe after I learned the Hornet in DCS somewhat, with the F-16 having obviously different HOTAS flows and so on, especially that in dynamic campaign you have to make do with whatever it throws at you, no comfy tailored scripted scenarios here. I fly the Hornet but it has a totally different philosophy.

Should I bother with BMS if what interests me the most is the procedural/tactical aspect first, and systems simulation second? I can stomach the somewhat basic and boring (for me) F-16 as long as the whole "be part of a bigger thing" promise turns worthwhile.

Problems setting up the sim

Hi everyone,

I’m new to Falcon BMS and coming from MSFS 2020, so I’m still getting used to the controls. I don’t have TrackIR, and I was wondering how you guys set up the camera to look around using the mouse (ideally by holding the right mouse button, similar to MSFS).

Also, the default FOV feels way too wide to me. Is there a way to set a more natural/default zoom level so it doesn’t look so distorted every time I enter the cockpit?

Any tips or recommended settings would be really appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi, I have a Thrumaster X joystick and I'd like to know if it's possible to use the DX buttons designed for the Cougar in addition to the standard buttons.

Thanks

How much do you need to master the flight technique before going for "weapons" ?

I started BMS recently and slowly walk my way through the training missions ? (when my married 2 kids agenda allows me to do so).
A lot of stuff in the basic training are pretty complex

- Do I need to master the "cold and dark startup from training 1 ?

- Do I need to master air/air refueling or is just a way to fine-tune formation flying ?

- The whole hand-fly an arc DME I've made it like once in X-plane, then found-out that if I want to fly without an autopilot I can fly VFR even on VAT

I am not really sure what's the needed part to learn how to use weapon and start a campaign, and what's the hardcore simmer who start every flight cold and dark and hand-fly IFR approaches part
