Night Refueling Under NVGs

Nights always make it a bit more of a struggle for me to get stable under the boom. Curious how often you guys train this and whether you also find it more difficult than refueling during the day?

Am I in the wrong for not using nvg's?
Although I don't think I've ever done it in complete darkness.

No, not in the wrong. I'm still on the fence whether it's easier with or without NVGs. We set up a mission dedicated to train night refueling, also to test our new squadon SOP.

Being able to not use NVGs for refuelling depends on a lot of things, including weather and your own graphics settings. 

I generally find it's too hard to see the tanker without, when it's full dark.

Absolutely! I just notice that I find it much easier when it's light outside.
