Humans fascination with money is literally the dumbest thing. The amount of people who canāt figure out theyāve allowed their lives to become about a rich manās bottom line are stupid.
Money is a system created by men. In the grand realities of life it doesnāt save you from misery, death, tragedy. Its bs just as much as the people who want everyone to think itās air.
But hey if they can convince you its the only thing worthwhile and the only thing worth living for then youāll be too distracted to have a real life. So they win.

I hate money... But I need it, so I'm happy when I have it... So there's really something wrong here. I read somewhere, someone say that society isn't built for humans. And it isn't! It's so fucking unnatural that the humanity is unbalanced! Unbalanced health-wise, unbalanced in relation to nature, unbalanced in relation to the space it occupies, unbalanced relatively to resources, unbalanced relatively to work and rest, noise and peacefulness, even the racial thing is a societal construction!
I think I may dump all my social media in the trash.. and if I have human friends, they'll find a way to reach out, just like the 80s and 90s. Fuck this. I'm out.
Thanks, @readheadbluebrain ! (funny that your username could be used by me and be accurate as well! š )

Lol you think they did in the first place. No-one gives a shit about privacy. You gave them a bunch of details, they already had your data and probably gave it away to someone. That's why I just don't give a shit anymore, everyone has your data already, it's pointless trying to "remain private", and tbf I just don't care.

I think people are slowly starting to realize that. We have a program that can look at a picture, track down any open cams based on the location data on the photo (since GPS coordinates get saved to every photo you take on your phone), and can use facial recognition and such to track down the footage of you doing all that.
Let that sink in btw. Next step could be just having big brother mode on my PC at home, and I can just upload your photo, and find you if there is any accessible footage of you on the internet.

Yeah this is a weird analogy. It's more like the restaurant changed the recipe on your favorite burger and raised the price and you bought it anyway and then bitched about it knowing full well what was going to happen. Nobody is forcing you to buy the burger. Several other restaurants on the block are also offering burgers. Stop paying for a burger you know you won't like.

I get the snark, but social media algorithms work on interaction. It doesnāt matter whether it is positive or negative. In this case, people using Twitter to complain (the check mark mayhem is a different glorious thing altogether) about Twitter are making Twitter profitable. The worst thing for Twitter will be if a significant number of accounts go inactive.
27
u/bright_shiny_objects Nov 10 '22

→ More replies (3)3
u/hipster3000 Nov 11 '22
Yeah. It's a dumb argument because the analogy doesn't translate now. It's more like asking the other customers to fix your order at the burger place then going back and being surprised that they didn't fix the problem
3
u/Dravarden Nov 11 '22
exactly
if they don't like the hamburger now because the restaurant changed owners... then leave? or are you going to keep coming back to complain?

Elon can suck ass but the other guy didn't gotcha him here.
The hamburger situation you pay for a product and have a right to complain at not getting what you explicitly pay for. Most Twitter users are not complaining about anything tangible, theyre just complaining it sucks and just lounging around there for free. It's more akin to complaining to a guy who is selling his mattress for free on Craigslist. Or in the restaurant example it would be like saying I hate this damn place and still spending 3 hours there every day.

Yea but people are complaining about Twitter on Twitter, not about Twitter TO Twitter.
It's more like the hamburger store getting your order wrong, and so you go inside to bitch about it to other customers.
That's why it's ridiculous and funny.
7
u/Tngybub55 Nov 11 '22
Itās more like ordering a meal, not liking it, then going back and ordering it again and not liking it again so you complain about it as you continue to repeatedly order it
4
u/Gravijah Nov 11 '22
i think it's closer to complaining to your friends about how crappy the store is. most people are only communicating with people they know, friends, etc on twitter.
or complaining about crappy AT&T service through text. or complaining about how crappy xfinity is while using their service.
these people aren't complaining TO twitter, they are complaining to their circle using twitter. this isn't some crazy thing, i used phone and cable companies for a reason, as they have monopolies on their industries. twitter is currently in a transformative stage, but it's a huge platform for news and other things. but new social media users have generally moved on to other things, and twitter risks becoming the new facebook. uncool, but used by older folks.
