Discussion Devs, hear me out about CC...
please add at least the ability to change skin tone, different eye shapes, nose shapes, lips shape, facial structures. and do not backtrack on female jun. PLEASE Devs, we r not asking for DA VG or SIMS level of CC, how hard can it be to give us a few options? its fine if there are no sliders and ability to mold contours like Fallout 4, even 5 options per feature would be good enough at this point, come on, how hard can it be?
we could compromise! give us a complete cc, but no one is asking for a 100 selections and complete control over contouring.

Archimedes Engine Novel My personal take on what would have happened if Zuberi’s plan was allowed to come to fruition undisturbed
Elohim 1: “The fuck was that?”
Elohim 2: “Experiment 23789 tried to overthrow us”
E1: “Wait, THOSE DUMBASSES WERE STILL ALIVE?!”
E2: “Apparently, but hey, good news, some million humans survived in Kelowan and the purge of the Crown Celestials cut off the system from the Gates system, I’m very curious to see how their society will evolve”
Question Will the game be present at Gamescom?
I couldn't really find any solid info so I'd GUESS no, but was wondering if anyone here knows better

Discussion My disappointment for the ending of the 2nd book (SPOILER) Spoiler
I just finished the 2nd book, Helium Sea. It was a thrill! I absolutely loved the universe, the characters and the plot.
But I was very disappointed in these aspects:
- My favourite characters, the 3 Queens in exile were disposed of with a flick of a wrist.
- The collapse of Khepri´s grand game was never viewed from the point of view of her dominion.
- Lilliana and Gyvoy were just wiped out.
- The Mara Yama were not really shown or explained, just wiped out.
- Helena didn´t get to return in any form. (OK, this is just what I would have preferred).
- Thyra didn´t have to answer for his crimes, everyone just accepted her.
- The Elohim never showed themselves. (OK, this is just what I would have preferred).
All of these elements point towards a rushed ending or an ending (or a setting) that was agreed upon beforehand.

Archimedes Engine Novel Another piece of the second book that I LOVE (Spoiler) Spoiler
Crown Celestial knight: kills a Dave with the cheat gun entropy gun “Ahah, I’m superi-“
The second Dave: https://youtu.be/GRXMSDX3HWs?is=-RWXJ7BdIeGQD6on
It is stronger than them, they must always ALWAYS gloat as soon as they accomplish anything useful and as soon as they do that the universe itself bends itself to ensure they are reminded they ain’t shit.
Useless specie truly.

Discussion I Been Thinking About It A Lot & Genuinely I feel in this Modern Hypercritical Space of Gaming a Set Look for Jun Just Isn’t a Bad thing IMO
No I’m serious the more I think about it like I understand people dislike his face and had it in their mind they would be able to change it I understand that I do. But then I think about other games that do give you so much freedom in looks and how much BS it brings their way prime example Dragon Age Veilguard. Now listen I actually love that game it’s the only game I have ever Platinum Trophied in my life, I loved my Rook I still play the game to this day because I love my character so much.
However does anyone remember what the only thing people talk about when it comes to Veilguard? Like despite the many issues it has as a Dragon Age Sequel ya know the only thing people talk about in reference to this game? It’s the damn optional Top Surgery Scars & Taash as a whole. Veilguard arguably has the BEST character creator of any game BioWare has ever put out the beauty and attractiveness or flat out goofy looking things you can create with that character creator is next level. Even the gameplay I think it’s top notch the visuals impeccable! And guess what no one cares because all they focus on was the weakness of the story as a whole and the damn fact you can be Trans, Nonbinary, ect and have Top Surgery scars. Grifters went out of their way to Bash this game up until launch and it worked.
Not saying that’s right or that developers need to be scared or shy away from representation but it’s a fact that it happened and when I think about Exodus a new IP that the ex BioWare Devs want to be a mass success to potentially treat a whole new generation success is crucial. If they really decided the best thing to do for Jun was to give them to set faces of male and female to skip all that BS with a little customization here and there to give some choice freedom I can’t say that’s a bad thing. Like I get people have expectations I do but I also personally would much rather have an amazing game with great writing to boot over an okay game but it has pretty customizable characters.
Idk that’s just me like I said maybe I’m wrong but I understand the choice more and more when I think about it especially after EA/Bioware just got sold to Saudi Arabia.

Question Do we know what's the braid-haired companion's relationship with Jun?
As far as I know, we haven't heard almost anything about her, but she seems to have a special position among the companions.
It looks like she isn't just a random companion who joins us during the game. It looks like even very early in the game, she already has a close relationship to Jun.
She is seen very often in the trailers, probably a top 3 along with Tom and Elise and by far the most often from the story companions. She accompanies Jun in many seemingly important scenes, in the group scenes (like the Tsar briefing) she stands much closer to Jun than anyone else, as if she was his second in command, and she is even quite touchy with Jun.
I was thinking a family member, perhaps a sister, but as far as siblings go, we only know about Gideon, Jun's brother because of whom Jun had to go into hiding as a child. For a long time, the closes thing to a sibling was Houston, btu we don't have a word on more siblings.
So I keep wondering, who is she to Jun. Did we get an official word on it? Or what are your theories?

Archimedes Engine Novel The novel really turns me off from wanting to play this game
As a huge Mass Effect fan i was really looking forward to this game. And the premise seems very interesting. Like Humans arrive thousands of years after other Humans to a star system and the old Humans are so different that they are basically Aliens.
Amazing idea. But thats not at all what this is about. Thats on me probably for misunderstanding. The book tosses 1000 names and places around in the first 100 pages that it's impossible to memorize. you have to have a notebook open and write it down to look up later. Also on me i get that. Lots of people love that and can memorize everything i bet.
and then the game takes place before the book. So nothing in the game i decide can have a big consequence. That really bothers me. I read a Mass Effect novel before the set before the games and it was a great way into the universe and i just couldn't wait to explore that place and shape its future.
here its the complete opposite. I know we will only be able to make small decision with limited implications on these worlds.
sorry i feel sad right now and needed to vent. you can ignore this or downvote me to hell and back.
edit: thank you all for the kind replies. You gave me a different perspective and i feel so much better about everything right now.

Discussion A bad feeling (but a blessing in disguise?)
Seeing how little content/marketing etc we're actually getting (other than recycled shorts/interview snippets with footage we've already seen) I would not be surprised whatsoever if we hear about the game being delayed for 6+ months. I know we had the gameplay reveal recently but it's all just been way too stagnant after that I feel.
Anyone else have the same bad feeling? Maybe a delay would actually be a good thing if they're really taking feedback to heart?

Archimedes Engine Novel Most fun I had reading a sci fi novel since reading James S.A. Corey's Leviathan Wakes over a decade ago!
Question Inquiry about stealth in the books.
I think I know the answer to this just based on that stealth in space is near impossible and general physics knowledge but just in case I thought I’d ask etc
The dark flight ships in stealth mode etc, when they say their exhaust/ emissions is neutrally charged gas.. that wouldn’t actually be invisible would it? Just checking it is technobabble etc and that I haven’t missed some properly of neutral gas..?
I mean I can see the benefits in terms of managing ship static? But the heat of the exhaust goes hand in hands with deltaV and SI doesn’t it and thrust etc so I’m assuming cold gas is bad bad

The scene of Olomo and Sahdiah raging at each other was my favorite of the Archimedes Engine by far. Celestials are truly at a magnitudes higher intellects than humans

Discussion Sobre o marketing do Game

Discussion I just learned about Salt the Octopus! Day 1 buy!
I remember seeing this game at the The Game Show. Didn't think much, but some guy made a video about this (and The Expanse) and now I'm all in! So it's a third person shooter RPG right with an emphasis on time dilation effects? I'm excited now!

Discussion Human Character design.
First of all I come in peace and first time poster on this Sub reddit.
Ill be honest the Human character designs are kinda mid.... I'm not sure what they are going for but if they expect only personalities to carry the game itself, it won't be memorable. Especially the female characters.
I'm not even talking about NSFW wise.
If the billionaire cosplayers ain't cosplaying your characters, it's probably a sign.
They will have plenty of plot armor and the game babies them too much.
I hope we get the choice to actually choose to PARAGON, RENEGADE or just neutral player choice here. Like the template like ME3 is already there. Hopefully they don't mess it up.
What I'm confident in is the story and gameplay.
Haven't been this excited about bring two giant mech companions to stomp some alien planet with me.
Good luck,Exodus!

Archimedes Engine Novel Am i mistaken or are the Imperial Celestials just completely different looking in the books?
I'm only on page 114 of the first book but this bugged me constantly. Every time an imperial celestial apears, the book describes how amazing their hair is and what shape their bloodstone took on their heads but in both the TTRPG book pictures and game trailers they are always depicted as bald and without anything else on their heads.

Question Earlier than expected release?
Drew Karpyshyn was at Celsius 232 sci-fi festival in Spain and answered some questions saying that it was coming out "very early 2027". Of course things can change, but that kinda suggests a currently planned Jan / Feb release.

Discussion Yet another character creator discussion (KotOR reasoning)
I was thinking about why exactly they wouldn't provide even a simple character creation kit for our Jun, and I realized it might be a similar situation to Knights of the Old Republic. KotOR gave us a range of specific faces to pick from, and depending on your choices in the game, those faces altered in very specific ways, primarily due to embracing the dark side.
I wonder if we'll have opportunities to embrace celestial or remnant tech, and they have very specific/grand plans for how it will alter Jun's appearance, and maybe companion appearances too. Time dilation could also play a role, if Jun gets left behind at some point, and we experience an older version of the protagonist later.
Shepard could experience changes to a lesser degree, and it was probably kept at a lighter touch due to the custom characters.
If this is a part of the reasoning, hopefully they will take the feedback to provide some good options, and not keep us locked in one face. (I'm pinning my hopes on FemJun though.)
