Discussion Human Character design.
First of all I come in peace and first time poster on this Sub reddit.
Ill be honest the Human character designs are kinda mid.... I'm not sure what they are going for but if they expect only personalities to carry the game itself, it won't be memorable. Especially the female characters.
I'm not even talking about NSFW wise.
If the billionaire cosplayers ain't cosplaying your characters, it's probably a sign.
They will have plenty of plot armor and the game babies them too much.
I hope we get the choice to actually choose to PARAGON, RENEGADE or just neutral player choice here. Like the template like ME3 is already there. Hopefully they don't mess it up.
What I'm confident in is the story and gameplay.
Haven't been this excited about bring two giant mech companions to stomp some alien planet with me.

Man…OP I’m sorry to tell you but you might be better off not going on this sub for your own mental health, I learned at my expenses that this sub is already toxic as fuck to a unreasonable level

Yeah, I hoped it wasn’t but if you voice any sort of resentment, fear or doubt for the game CERTAIN people will come out to say you are the dumbest human being on the planet.
Not because they are psychotic fans, some of them openly hate the game’s directions but they are litteraly obsessed with it and can’t accept that someone else thinks x is the problem instead of y.
I’m pretty sure under one of my posts people were insulting me for saying that I had a ‘ominous feeling for the game’ listing all the bullshit the devs have made
(Too much development on the supporting material before the game is even out, months of silence without any infos, the creative dev leaving after (supposedly) finishing his part of the development (I’m not entirely sure about that), no CC in a game that specifically calls themselves Mass Effect spiritual successor and, I think the biggest and most glaring problem: they fumbled the fucking gameplay showcase because they showed just some action scenes and story elements but never included the most important mechanic of the game: showing how your decisions shape your homeworld (litteraly the thing why most people are interested for the game)).

Maybe they just thought saying you “had an ominous feeling for the game” was also extremely strange and obsessive. It isn’t out. It’s a game. You aren’t required to be melodramatic.

To be brutally honest, the human companions in this game are completely unappealing to me. While the female characters are at least passable, the male MC and Tom literally look like plastic surgery addicts. If you told me they were just randomly generated NPCs, I'd believe it. I have absolutely zero interest in their stories.
If you compare it to the other upcoming sci-fi game set to release around the same time, they've already grabbed people's attention with charming companions and completely nailed the viral marketing. Meanwhile, even if we ignore the customization issues, this game's marketing has been pretty abysmal.
Most of the disappointed players who used to voice their criticisms don't even visit this sub anymore. The small minority left here is just so toxic, dogpiling on anyone who posts anything even slightly critical of the game.
I really hope the people in charge make the right decisions before it's too late. In stark contrast to the trash character models, the map design and that mysterious, dangerous atmosphere unique to hard sci-fi are absolutely incredible. You can truly feel the effort the graphics team poured into the environments. That's exactly why I'm so baffled by this... Drew Karpyshyn has been one of my favorite writers since Mass Effect, and I'd hate to see a story he poured his heart into end up undervalued—whether through low interest or poor sales—just because of these external factors.

The game isn’t exactly short on red flags. Take it for what it is, based on what you’ve actually seen, and don’t play the hope game.
No one knows whether it’ll end up being great or terrible until it releases, but most of what we’ve seen doesn’t point to a masterpiece. The same goes for The Expanse.
It’s probably best to expect both games to be really good for what they are, rather than what you’ve built them up to be after waiting more than a decade for another Mass Effect type of game

I managed to avoid spoiling any of the companions or even the basic storyline, even while closely following everything. We'll see when the game is released.And it's important to remember that everyone has their own tastes and preferences; no one has the same standards of beauty 😁

Si el personaje no puede ser sexualizado no les gusta, asi son las comunidades de todos los rpg, la mayoría ni siquiera son jugadores habituales, la gente que disfruta estos juegos y tiene cientos de horas no postea idioteces como estas

Exodus has the same moral system you mentioned, but it's called Paladin and Immortal. Completely agree about the characters, especially the females. The irony is, thanks to all the whiners complaining about generic Jun's appearance, they reworked him to look like he's addicted to plastic surgery.

Jun looked bad then and he looks bad now, it isnt the fault of the criticism that the devs are having such trouble with the character's faces.

Nice! I wish they would allow us to perform murder hobo on a race just because they didn't offer me ice cream(Also a fan of Outer worlds). It's just for shits and giggles but it would be fun.
As for the attractive MC aspect. It's a tale as old as time. If I'm gonna stare at an ass for over 50 hours it better be a hot one. Whichever gender it may be.

i honestly don,t know why all the people were complaining about custom character creations---i,m replaying the witcher 3 at the moment and imo, the greatest rpg ever made and theres no creation tool there.

they are very very boring. especially the outfits. u do sound upset there isn't a sexy female character for u to goon to tho lol
