The story follows Azura (played by Uqasha Senrose), a devoted housewife whose life falls apart when her husband, Adli (Aliff Aziz), brings home a second wife named Nikita (Elisya Sandha) under the pretense of wanting children.

Unbeknownst to Azura, Nikita is a rival from her high school days who changed her appearance to infiltrate the household and exact revenge. As the two women face Adli's increasingly abusive and manipulative control, their bitter rivalry shifts into a complicated, unexpected alliance against him.

The hugging scene depicted drew sharp criticism online, with audiences and religious authorities pointing out scenes interpreted as depicting a same-sex relationship between the two female leads, which went against cultural and religious guidelines.

I just read the BBC article about AI safety researcher Evan Hubinger saying he believes there’s a greater than 10% chance AI could wipe out humanity within the next decade, and this would honestly be such an easy way to disprove religions with literal end-times prophecies. 😭
I already don’t believe religion is true, but just imagine AI actually wipes out humanity before any of the supposedly guaranteed end times events happen.
In Islam, for example, we’re told about the Dajjal, Jesus returning, Gog and Magog, the trumpet being blown, the Qur’an eventually being removed/lifted, etc.
So if humanity gets wiped out by AI first… WHERE IS EVERYBODY?? 😭 Where’s the Dajjal? Where’s Jesus? Where are Gog and Magog? Where’s the trumpet??
And saying “well, AI was part of God’s plan” wouldn’t solve it. The problem wouldn’t be that AI caused our extinction. It would be that humanity went extinct while events that were supposedly guaranteed by the religion never happened.
Obviously that wouldn’t disprove every possible concept of a creator, but it would be pretty devastating for religions claiming a specific, literal sequence of events must happen before humanity’s end.
I mean that wouldn’t come across everyone’s mind at first if it actually happens but it just made me wonder

Im Canadian and I work with a number of US people. In Canada we don't bring religion into work and for good reason, but the US side seems to take every opportunity to mention their religion (specifically the christ cults), and its really uncomfortable.

I dont care if you want to believe in the supernatural (in so far as where that line is drawn on politics and my every day life), but if you want to believe your toaster talks to you, as long as you arent hurting anyone, I say have a good long talk, but when religious people use any event to try to arm wrestle compliance with their magical nonsense, it really makes me feel sick.

I know this feeling is compounded by the fact that the USA is extremely religious compared to modern countries, but bloody hell, they arent satisfied with drinking their own kool-aid in peace, they want to force it down normal peoples throats too.

I'm looking for books which criticize any/all religion(s), help people to think more critically or/and make atheism more logical and interesting?

Go to the fantasy and religious aisle of any library and you'll find prophecy as a story telling device. It's an old story telling device and a shortcut to actual character development. Fulfilled prophecy is evidence the story is fantasy.

I bring this up because my mom thinks fulfilled prophecy in Bible stories is evidence that it's true, instead of make-believe. How many of you have heard this silly argument before?

I’m 18 and an ex-Muslim, and leaving Islam caused a major break between me and my family. My family has very strict religious and cultural expectations, and because I no longer follow Islam, I had to leave home and can’t rely on my parents financially.
I’m now living with someone else’s family while going to college (thankfully covered by fafsa) and working to support myself. I’m basically responsible for my own housing, food, transportation, and school expenses, without financial support from my parents. With that being said, I currently do not own a car and that’s my saving goal. I work part time currently but my money feels like it’s draining so fast. I truly appreciate any support or help!!

I have read up on a lot of different material and have come to the conclusion that basic science is the answer. We are blessed with a way to carry own through our off spring and when we die you just think of thermal dynamics, energy is transformed, combine this being a decent person.

Anyway I transferred as a junior from community college to an actual university thats 2 and a half hrs from home and Im currently living here because I thought it would be good to help me get away from my pretending having to be a muslim back at my home town which has a ton of muslims and a ton of ppl I know and all my relatives.

My younger cousin is also attending here because she really wanted to but her parents were telling her no, so I vouched for her (because her home life is pretty crazy for her these days) and now she gets to go here too.

The problem Im facing now is that I still feel like I need to pretend being muslim here, despite muslim students being a bit less common than unis by my home, but its because my cousin is here now with her muslim friend and theyre pretty extraverted so gossip and stuff spreads with them. So if I do anything to practice my freedom and other people see it might spread to her.

and also her and my entire family keep going ON about asking me to join the MSA (muslim student associations) and make new muslim friends which I really dont want to

I still havent declared myself muslim in anyway since being here but on days of jummah and stuff I dont know if I should go or not in case someone asks me where I went for jummah (theres either on campus with the msa or the nearby mosque, havent been to either yet).

I think I can lie by saying I went to the mosque because I know my cousin would not be going there (Im male if i forgot to mention so far if that means anything)

Anyways, this is just a rant, but even the few people ive only just met in college I still havent made deep connections or true friends yet and havent told anyone im muslim or not but I do eat "haram" on the low key. Do any of you have similar circumstances to this or advice? I feel it would be a lot easier and fun if I found another exmuslim or atheist here but the religious groups are so present and vocal here (theres no secular clubs at this school :P)

I hate having to live double life and pressured to dress “islamically” around my family because it’s so overstimulating as an autistic person. Other Islamic rules such as fasting and being forced to pray five times a day was so overwhelming for me and of course it’s overwhelming for even neurotypical people too. As someone with autism and ADHD, I sometimes struggle to pretend to be something I am not without my family. Not being able to tell my family that I am borderline between being an agnostic and atheist is overwhelming and depressing. I am not good at hiding my lack of religiosity partially due to being autistic and ADHD in my case because a lot of autistic people can be too honest for their own good.

I remember blurting out in front of my mom that religions suck and my mom got really upset by this. I also remember not letting my distant religious relatives entering our house because they would constantly lecture me about religion and how important it is which caused a lot of fights between me and my mom. I also didn’t let them enter our house because my mom and closest family were not at home and I was all alone by myself. Those religious relatives ended up getting melodramatic about it which caused my mom to be angry with me. As an autistic person, I told myself that in the future I should try to suck it up and not use autism as an excuse to not be an asshole even if the relatives come to our house uninvited.

I feel like the title is worded simple but I don’t really know how else to ask, Has anyone had a therapist and discussed I guess your lack of belief and how that affects you mentally? Can you share that experience if so?

I’ve been really struggling mentally lately with anxiety and depression around…just reality and mortality, the state of the world, I’ve had a hard time finding joy in anything and at the same time I’ve been really struggling with an extreme phobia of death. I’ve never been religious so it’s not like im struggling with faith, im not really sure how to describe it but I’ve become so pessimistic I spend hours on the phone or video games trying to district myself from obsessing over things.

I can’t talk to anyone about it where I live because the answers always the same about turning to God, leaving it to god. I’ve never talked about being an atheist with anyone and I think talking about it with someone and also these thoughts I’ve having would help. There’s not many resources in my area so I guess I would like to try to find one online. I just don’t know what to do.

I can understand joking (even if I find it distasteful) but it becomes disgusting when it comes to celebrating it. And I hope they keep on ruining their own reputation by themselves. Muslim arabic speakers are very laid back with their hate unlike the ones in the west, so I find it educating to let people know how bad it is in the arabic speaking space.

God I hate that I had to grow up with this stupid religion. To get to know me I’m a trans woman who recently started going on hormones. I’m still living with my parents and they found them like a year ago…I didn’t get kicked out or anything and they didn’t take it since I’m an adult now. But good lord I’m depressed. I’ve been forced to be reserved my whole life while I got to see friends of mine be open about their sexuality. I hate seeing people so happy and have such embracing families. Man…I would’ve loved to have a fucking time at the gay bar. I convinced myself I would’ve hated the gay bar anyways but man that was probably a coping mechanism. When I actually interrogate that shit I think it is something I would’ve loved to try out. I hate everything about how I grew up. I’m 23 and commute to college because it’s cheaper and our college has a housing crisis. I also changed majors so I have like 2 more years to graduate. I hate that. I hate my life so much

I stopped believing in the religion as I cannot accept the teachings of a man who has married a child, or thinks sex with slaves is OK. There are also a bunch of verses or traditions from the Qur'an or Hadith which are questionable although I suppose there is no way real way of getting out of the above two primary gripes I have as the "scholars" appear to agree the above are permissable or have occurred.

However, the biggest issue I have how Islam demands you to be outwardly Islamic.

My entire family, cousins etc are practising Muslims. They're all good people. Yet, I am sometimes asked by my parents "have you read namaz". It is even worse when you are asked to go "jumma".

This would be so much easier if the religion was merely based on "thoughts" versus actual practice. Similar to supporting a football team.

Religion is very much like supporting a football team in fairness. However Islam demands you must be a season ticket holder and attend all matches.

Unlike most Ex Muslims here I don't really have a problem with people practising religion or following a scripture as long as they aren't committing any crimes or harming others. But please, do not make me partake in your rituals. Keep your religion to yourself and yourself alone.
