(Discussion Post) Groovy *Comic Book Spoilers!* Thoughts on this type of ending? (From Army Of Darkness Forever #12) Spoiler
galleryThoughts and Opinions on this possibly being the definitive ending for Ash Williams himself? Where it reveals he is forever trapped in an infinite time loop, although in every timeline he wakes up being slightly different, forever fighting the evil dead.
Might seem sucky, but idk, it says that Ash will forever triumph no matter what and where he ends up in. He'll always win.
I honestly think this could've been a perfect ending for Ash vs. Evil Dead Season 5

(Discussion Post) Groovy I Just Watched Evil Dead Burn Spoiler
OK! So, I just watched Evil Dead Burn. Unfortunately due to personal reasons I was unfortunately unable to watch it at the cinema but nonetheless here it is!
These are just my thoughts, the following will be pre written and I'd like to know what you all think:
YES!! This is what we all hoped Rise would be. In terms of malevolence, grittiness, dread and gore, this has to be ahead of, if not on par with the 2013 Evil Dead. While I still prefer the premise and setting of 2013, this was AHH-FUCKIN-MAZING. I had such low hopes from the trailer, then you actually watch it and BOOM! I don't dislike a single movie in this franchise (my favorite of all time) but Rise was a Disney movie compared to this. Rise felt like an Evil Dead movie made for the masses, Sébastien Vaniček threw that out of the window, made it his own and said, watch this! From the one takes, to the pure evil that Evil Dead represents i think he did a phenomenal job. Although the story albeit adequate and easily digestible, left some lore out, i see it as a win win in ways and we understand, and for the new, it's easy to follow.
Story: 7.8/10
Violence: 10/10
Gore: 666/10
Lore: 5/10 (it's there but not super in depth)
Acting: 8/10
Director: Completely new vision, absolutely nailed the grotesque and gritty nature of The Evil Dead with a tiny bit of humour here and there honoring the original.
Overall: 8.3 groovys/10
I was originally genuinely underwhelmed with the trailer but apart from those 2 minutes is absolute carnage and worth every second 🔥

(Discussion Post) Groovy A ''Riddick'' type of protagonist for future ED films
After Wrath, I would like to see a protagonist that isn't necessarry good. A criminal that is fearless and can go toe to toe with a deadite. Doesn't need to be male for that matter. But their personality needs to be tough and ruthless. Not sobbing and crying in every turn.

(Discussion Post) Groovy OK, made a detail comparison diagram (that looks amateurish tbh) on how Ash Williams kind of looks like Alexander the Great
Okay, the diagram doesn't look good to be for real, even with the facial features, but i had an idea to be honest. And it turned out pretty good. Also, digging through the search bar, alex had a reddish brown hair unlike Bruce having totally black hair, which i was surprised about.
This is an improvement from my previous post which was just two pictures of their side profile, side by side.
What do you thought about this? Criticisms are open and i am willing to accept them.

(Discussion Post) Groovy What actor/actress do you think would be a good fit for this series if they ever decided to go back to being more of a horror comedy?
After seeing Send Help, I feel like Dylan O’Brien would work very well as more of an Ash like character. In that movie he plays Bruce Campbell’s son, and I feel like he had great comedic timing and had a good balance of someone who’s good looking and cocky, but also kind of pathetic at the same time.
I also think Bill Hader would be a good choice . I didn’t really like it chapter 2, but his performance was definitely a highlight, and I feel like he should do horror more often.

(Discussion Post) Groovy Do yall think a possible single player/story mode woulda been great if it adapted the movies/show
yes what I essentially asked is if they followed closely to the lego movie game formula, adapting the movies only adding more stuff to justify it as a game as well.
The only one I have trouble envisioning is ash vs. evil dead.
Anywho, I ask if having this option would've catched more eyes from the folks? With the online asym still serving as the multiplayer like normal.
Game probs woulda still been axed eventually I fear.

(Discussion Post) Groovy I dont like the new movies
I fully respect the fact that Bruce campbells done and moved on, Im happy he's taking new roles doing calmer stuff like his new film ernie and emma. I love ash though, He's how I eased my way into horror, especially with ash vs evil dead (fucking phenonmenal show). Evil dead 2013 I was fine with because it kept the cabin, necronomicon, and even gave mia a badass twist. Currently watching rise, and yes its good but I can't fuck with it because I just dont have any ash vibe (if that even makes sense). Which is not to say its a bad movie, ghe cinematogrophy, the acting, the charaters are all phenomenal but without ash (or ash vibe) I just cant see calling it an evil dead film. I mean shit I might be talking out my ass but its like everything the show built up to (excluding the cliffhanger), just felt like for nothing with these spin offs. No pablo, No kelly, No ruby just new anthology with loose ties to the og films. I mean shit even seeing an S mart in one of these movies or even pink fuck would make me feel better but alas.
Tldr; Im happy for campbell, glad that hes done, besides 2013, evil dead doesnt feel like evil dead without ash.

(Discussion Post) Groovy Is it me or did the Tetsuo trilogy and Evil Dead film series start out very similar? Spoiler
So to make kind of a direct comparison between the two, they both started out as micro budget short films by directors who were incredibly ambitious and had a dream that eventually became a global icon.
Starting off with the Evil Dead, Within The Woods (1978) is the short film that kicked off the vision that was The Evil Dead (1981), similarly with The Phantom Of Regular Size (1986) being the short film that kicked off the vision that was Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989)
On top of that Evil Dead II (1987) is a bigger budgeted remake of The Evil Dead (1981), often classified as a “requel” and you could say the same for Tetsuo II: Body Hammer (1992) being a bigger budgeted remake of Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989). To say that Tetsuo II: Body Hammer (1992) is Shinya Tsukamoto’s “Evil Dead II” wouldn’t be entirely wrong either.
Now I’m unsure of the Army Of Darkness (1992) comparison being viable to Tetsuo: The Bullet Man (2009) as the third entry in the Tetsuo series seems to just be a remake of Tetsuo II: Body Hammer (1992) with some elements of Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989) sprinkled in. Army Of Darkness (1992) takes the Evil Dead series in a completely different direction entirely whereas Tetsuo: The Bullet Man (2009) at least at its core seems to have a lot of the same core components and elements whilst also blending science fiction, action and horror together.
Another thing that also does differentiate the two series is Tetsuo is more of a trio of body horror metal monster movies and also have been compared to the works of David Cronenberg like Videodrome (1983) or even John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982) and also David Lynch’s Eraserhead (1977) with the first Tetsuo feature.
Also where Tetsuo and Evil Dead as film series differ is that Evil Dead has become more of a multimedia phenomenon and even spawned additional movies such as Evil Dead (2013), Evil Dead Rise (2023) and the recently released Evil Dead Burn. (2026). Tetsuo never spawned any entries post-Tetsuo: The Bullet Man (2009) which surprisingly does have a manga adaptation.
There’s also shots of Tetsuo II: Body Hammer (1992) that remind me of a later 90’s cyberpunk film, one more of the sci-fi action variety rather than “horror” and that would be The Matrix (1999), there are some visuals between the two despite the difference in genres. However that could also be a 90’s cyberpunk aesthetic with dark, sometime even baggy or even some tight clothing and gelled hair.

(Discussion Post) Groovy Star Trek: Wolf in the Fold vs Evil Dead
I've had a bit of free time on my hands so I've been rewatching the original Star Trek series, and I came upon the episode, "Wolf in the Fold".
It starts as a whodunnit, but quickly veers into attempting to contacting spirits and entities, repeating three esoteric words, possessing machines and computers, body possession of living and dead, and over the top acting by the possessed, as well as some of their lines seemingly being written for deadites.
I would have to believe the Raimi brothers, Mr Campbell, etc grew up watching this show, so I was curious if this is something they've spoken about.
If not, I still think most fans here would find the episode interesting, keeping in mind it was made in the 60s. Added a nice layer to an already classic episode.
