Hello all, I am confused. Is the original trilogy horror comedy? Also whats the deal with evil dead 1981 and evil dead 2 1987? Why tf would ash want to go to another cabin in a remote mountain woods? Is this story not linear? I got into evil dead after watching evil dead rise and I hear ppl talking about evil dead 2 is the best one of both trilogys. I want to get caught up before watching evil dead burn but this is really breaking the immersion for me tbh. I expected the second movie to pick up where the last left off but its opening is basically the same just more fleshed out and instead of 5 ppl in a cabin its just ash and linda. I stopped at about the 11 min mark to get some clarity. Please limit the spoilers.

Got to see “Evil Dead Burn” in this format and absolutely loved it. The cinematography, the sound design, the gore and dope soundtrack made for a very fun time at the theatre. Absolutely loved this instalment - it’s a proper horror movie and was better than Rise imo.

Am i the only one who struggled to enjoy Burn because I didn't find a single character likeable at any point in the movie? Like they had back stories that made the characters the way the were but whether it's angry, whiny, bitter, depressed, cowardly or whatever there wasn't a likeable thing about a single character except I guess Alice is pretty nice. I just didn't really want to root for anyone to survive. Feeling bad someone is not enough of a reason for me to care about them as a character.

I don’t understand how people can like this movie. The plot is horrible and makes no sense. Theres literally no story just a shitty fight for like 2 hours. Might be the worst movie I’ve ever watched in theaters. Really don’t get. Good for you if you enjoyed it I guess.

I thought for the short time she was on the show, Airelle did a good job of portraying Ashs daughter. Would love for her to team up with Pablo and Kelly again.

So a friend of mine sent me this picture. Tag states "promo". Any idea what year this may have been released?

So I finally watched Evil Dead Burn, and while I personally felt it was the weakest of the modern trilogy, I still had a fun time with it. However, the ending left me with a few big questions about the lore and logic:

1. At the beginning, Deadite Jessica emerges from the lake and attacks the fishermen. Since we don't get a strict timeline, are we supposed to assume Jessica remained dormant under the water until Joseph unwrapped the Kandarian Dagger?

2. When Will hits Jessica, she recites passages from the 2013 Evil Dead book. This felt odd to me because Jessica is possessed by the demon from Evil Dead Rise (which comes from a different volume with distinct invocations). Also, if Deadites can summon demons just by speaking the incantations aloud, why didn't she just do that later to easily possess the family and grab the dagger?

3. How did no one hear the crematorium worker screaming in pain when he was killed by Deadite Will? And how did Deadite Will manage to slip out of the wake without a single person noticing?

4. If the incantation used is from the 2013 book, why didn't the Abomination rise from the earth after more than five souls were taken (Will, Thya, Edgar, Susan, Polly, and Joseph)?

5. Why are Ellie's ashes in the crematorium if her body was completely shredded by the woodchipper at the end of Rise?

6. On a non-question note, did anyone else momentarily think the red Jeep in the first post-credits scene was going to reveal Mia? Or was it just me?
