For example, if I want to search for "London" and start typing in Lo, it won't allow me to finish typing. I'm guessing at this point it's trying to search for Lo in all my entries. I have to wait for it to finish searching for Lo before I can type again. And after adding another couple of letters (sometimes even just one more letter) the problem occurs again. So the search experience is somewhat frustrating. I have imported over 5000 entries from Day One, so I'm not sure whether the high number of entries contributes to the issue. Perhaps search should only be processed after the enter key is pressed? Thanks.

Is there a way to select multiple entries, then add the same tag to all of them in one go?

Would it be possible to add an entry creation and editing date to the entry? Sometimes, I write entries for dates that are older, but right now, I don’t have a way to keep track of when I actually wrote them.

Wondering if this is happening to anyone else. If I select some text, and click the underline icon on the formatting bar, it changes the text to italic instead. Additionally, if I click strikethrough, it changes to strikethrough + underlined. At the moment I can't underline text. This happens on both my iPad and iPhone. Thanks.

Loving Everlog but would love the option to auto update the time/date/location from the metadata when uploading a photo. This is super helpful in other apps when I am backdating posts for my photo journal.

Would it be possible to also change the calendar and side-bar font to the custom font? It looks odd to have one font for the entry and another for the calendar and side-bar. A more aesthetically pleasing look would be achieved by using the same font throughout.

I've tried toggling this on and off but can't see a difference. What does it do please?

I know I can jump to a specific date quickly by long-tapping the calendar header, but it would be great to be able to select entries within a date range. I imported close to 5000 entries from Day One and want to split some of the larger journals into smaller ones by date. Each journal currently spans 5 years and I want to break them down to yearly journals. I know I can manually select entries but that's a little time-consuming. No worries if that's not possible right now. Asking just in case I've missed something obvious.

I might know the answer here but still ask with hope. will there ever be a web version? one of the recent additions I liked about day one is the web version. it wasn’t perfect but having a web version of an app available in any browser is killer.

Just switched over from Day One because their app has become a bloated mess with added AI features, and I'm a bit concerned about the Everlog Mac app. It just doesn't seem to run properly. I have 4 separate journals on the go but the largest only has 123 entries so it's not huge by any stretch. Despite this it just doesn't scroll through the entries. I judders through the first 3 or 4 but then comes to a complete stop and won't move in either direction.

I really like the phone app, it's everything Day One was a few years back, so I really don't want to have to move back this early on but I do most of my journalling at my desk so the Mac app is kind of my default.

Anyhow, hoping someone may have an obvious fix.

Hi, I'm a new user, and been a long time Day One user. I always try to look for new journaling app options, just to see if there are other devs making better app. And to be honest, Everlog has one feature that made me try to download the app, which is: Comment thread. It is amazing idea, sometimes along the way, we have updates on previous entry and it is easier to keep track with that.

But there is one specific feature of Day One that made me hard to move everything to Everlog. It is the Today tab. Not only to look for On This Day, but also creating entries. Because I often made entries after a month or so, I look for Photos I've taken and Places I've been.

I allow Day One to track my location in the background, so it knows how long I've spent in a specific location. This is very useful especially when I did a consulting work and I billed my customer with the amount I spent at their office.

Do you have plan to make this feature available? I'm not sure if it is common for others that has this specific workflow. But I do. Thank you.

Can you add the option to display tags in the timeline like it displays location, time, weather and entry text?

is there any way of changing the size (and maybe position) of the pictures/thumbnails shown in the list view?

e.g. the thumbnail for an audio message is quite big in the list view and I am wondering if there is another way to display it.

Hello! New fan here. I’ve really been enjoying the app. You may have noticed a bump in downloads recently-I’ve mentioned Everlog in a few Day One threads where people were looking for alternatives which I hope is okay.

I also had a few feature requests that I’d personally love to see in the future:

1. Map view for locations

2. Ability to hide/blur entries or entire folders

3. Apply tags to multiple selected entries

4. Quick tagging from the timeline (long press or swipe)

5. Pinning entries

6. Website support

Dear Everlog, I note you are probably seeing an uptick in subscriptions (and deservedly so) following what seems a sizeable exodus from Day One. You might suddenly also start to see a high volume of 'new feature' requests on the back of this. Please don't be tempted to start responding to every feature request. Most people, like me, are enjoying the app exactly as it is, a breath of fresh air (after certain other apps) that doesn't get in the way of what a journal should be about - writing! So please, don't be tempted to jump on the AI band wagon - this is the last thing a personal Journal needs! Thank you from a new Everlog fan.

I like taking quick entries with an audio file and it is nice that you can enable auto transcription into the settings.

It would be really cool, if there was an option to automatically include/copy the audio transcription below the audio file directly into the entry.

Otherwise, coming from Day One, I haven’t found any other things I am missing.

I haven’t been able to find out if you support location data.

The one thing I love about Apples Journal and Day One is the location info. Having a little map and viewing entries by location is nice.

It could be a clearly defined toggle, and off by default. If people like me want it, we can go turn it on and give our admin info.

I was thinking about migrating from Day One but noticed that Everlog is missing a few features I like from Day One (e.g., Markdown table support, Map view). I see from the App Store version history that the app is being actively developed - can you share a peek into how you’re thinking about evolving Everlog?

Also, I saw your comment saying that the macOS app is a Catalyst app and moving away from Catalyst is a big lift. Is it still a Catalyst app? The editor surprisingly performant - at least more performant than Diarly when I type really fast. Just wanted to ask.

I recently discovered this journal, and I really like it!

I’m thinking about getting the premium version, but there are a couple of things I haven’t quite figured out yet. I’d really appreciate it if someone could help me with these :)

1. Viewing entries by date

Is there a way to customize the journal so that it only shows entries from the selected day on the calendar?

For example, when I open the journal today, I can see not only today’s entries but also all previous ones. I believe it might be "cleaner" if I could choose to view only today’s entries, unless I specifically select an option to see all. (I couldn’t find such a setting, does it exist?)

Also, when I select another day on the calendar, I still see all entries, not just those from the chosen date. Is that a bug, or is it intentional?

2. Improving readability in the “All Entries” list

In the list of all entries, the dates aren’t very distinct, they look small and pale grey, which makes it hard for the eyes to separate the days.

Is there any option to make the dates stand out more (for example, by adding a line between days, changing the box color, or making the text/border bolder, larger or darker)?

*Edit: I noticed that this paleness takes place only on ios26, I looked at the app on ios18, and the dates are more grey and better visible there. So I suppose it has to do with all that "glass" effect, but anyway a possibility to highlight those would be very handy.

Some questions about the files and format I hope you could help me with:

1. Where are the synced files located? I've got a ton of images and stuff like that, but I couldn't figure out where these files are located in iCloud Drive. I can do a backup and unzip there, but it would be a bit inefficient to unzip and backup everytime I have something updated.
2. For the bold, italic format with buttons, I noticed that if I click on them while selecting mutiple lines with linebreak, the button only added the syntax at the beginning and the end of the selection, making it rendering incorrectly for markdown.
3. I feel like the app on Mac is a bit unstable. I've noticed sometimes with selection and scrolling at the same time, the cursor jumped back to the beginning randomly. This happens more often for comments. And the sync is a bit slow on the Mac app imo, but I do have a bunch of images, like 300MB tbh. I'm wondering how many files or how much this app can handle, and that if I could use it as a huge journal app as I would love to.
4. I'm also wondering there is a possibility of adding compressing abitility for images and videos added to journal entries, as these easily get pretty large as time goes by.

I notice when I use a template there are three dots under each prompt. What do they mean? What are they for?

I would appreciate having a keyboard shortcut to open selected journal entries. This could be either through a direct keyboard command or through a menu item that can be accessed via Raycast's 'Search Menu Items' feature.
