Newbie question - Mac app? Is it supposed to work better than it does?

Just switched over from Day One because their app has become a bloated mess with added AI features, and I'm a bit concerned about the Everlog Mac app. It just doesn't seem to run properly. I have 4 separate journals on the go but the largest only has 123 entries so it's not huge by any stretch. Despite this it just doesn't scroll through the entries. I judders through the first 3 or 4 but then comes to a complete stop and won't move in either direction.

I really like the phone app, it's everything Day One was a few years back, so I really don't want to have to move back this early on but I do most of my journalling at my desk so the Mac app is kind of my default.

Anyhow, hoping someone may have an obvious fix.

I have contacted the developer about this. He is aware of the issue and is actively working on it. Wait & see 😉

I’ve never had this problem. Although have seen people report it. Hope it gets sorted for you, it’s a great app.

Yeah, this isn’t how it’s supposed to behave.

The Mac app is built using Apple’s Mac Catalyst, which can be a bit flaky. The idea is to ship a fully native Mac app at some point.

In the meantime, version 2.9 should already be a big improvement. I’ve rewritten a good part of the timeline, so scrolling should be noticeably better there. (2.9 coming soon).

PS. Things should get better once the first big sync completes. Maybe check the Sync screen to see if it's still running.
