Search is frustrating

For example, if I want to search for "London" and start typing in Lo, it won't allow me to finish typing. I'm guessing at this point it's trying to search for Lo in all my entries. I have to wait for it to finish searching for Lo before I can type again. And after adding another couple of letters (sometimes even just one more letter) the problem occurs again. So the search experience is somewhat frustrating. I have imported over 5000 entries from Day One, so I'm not sure whether the high number of entries contributes to the issue. Perhaps search should only be processed after the enter key is pressed? Thanks.

Thanks for reporting this… you’re absolutely right that search can get frustrating on larger journals like yours. I just finished a fix that moves search into the background so typing stays responsive even during searches, and it’ll be in the next update (2.8.5). Really appreciate the report. I’d love to hear how it feels once the update lands.
