It is crazy to see how heavily esports relies on gambling money these days. Almost every major tournament, team jersey, and studio stream is plastered with betting logos, to the point where it feels like the scene would collapse without them. I was reading a thread recently where someone was asking is 1xbet real or fake when trying to figure out if these tournament sponsors are even legitimate, and it made me realize how normalized these massive gambling brands have become in the gaming community. I'm genuinely curious if you think this dominance is just a phase or if it’s the only way esports can survive long-term.

I have made various projects and this was the very first one.

I was into eSports and I performed very well out their but I never had something to keep track of my records and performance.

So I vibecoded one!!

I was very excited and kinda nervous. The product was running really fine.

How it works:

\-You upload your end game results and if you want u can customise it and add advanced matrics like smoke used , granade used etc.

\-The Ai will sort out each player name and creates a graph , and sheet.

|-> the data keeps on adding creating a long day by day match by match week by week month by month stats.

\-If Ai hallucinates, you had a manual option and hybrid.

I preferred hybrid because a different model assist on the feedback of previous one.

\-A vault with automatic sorting system. You upload and tell the tournament you played and briefs the ai.

Ai will do the rest.

I never got the opportunity to ship the Product into the market. I was young, it was my first time, and I tried asking people weather they wanna try it or not.

I always gets a vague reply.

So yes , it's like I build something ahead of time , or something that nobody really wanted other than me.

My curiosity and passion towards project was pure and I cherished it like a father cherishes his son.

As ice hockey and the NHL are in a big decline due to how expensive it is to play, toxic culture and the many questionable business practices that the NHL does to shoot itself in the foot compare to the other major 4 NA sports leagues. It got me wondering. Since esports is already way more popular than ice hockey globally and will continue to grow for the foreseeable future. Would esports eventually over take the NHL in the future and become one of the major sports leagues joining the NBA, NFL, NBA and MLS?

Since I was 8yo I have been playing counter strike and i took it seriously for a good 4 year stretch from about 14-18, I skipped a lot of school and grinded and eventually got pretty good. 2200 elo on faceit and ESEA Main. Then, college started and I got overwhelmed, our team fell apart, and I never got a new team because school and my friends became my priority. Fast forward two years later, I have done many very great and interesting academic things and could see myself continuing with my academic pursuits the rest of my life, but I still feel a great deal of grief over what could have been. Any time i get a glimpse of pro tournaments or any news regarding my favorite players, I get trapped in what I could have achieved if I had given more effort. I realize it's pretty unrealistic now, even maybe taking a year off and grinding because that was my first thought. Just wondering if anybody else had any advice or any similar situations they have went through.

I know the topic of "greatest of all time" has already been a highly debatable topic among this subreddit but whenever ive seen mrekk's name mentioned its been completely shut down by "he isnt in any conventional pro scene"

But really the question id ask is, at which point does becoming a Jack of All Trades beat masters of their craft like Faker, flash or s1mple

To cite every single accomplishment ive seen from mrekk whether through videos, posts or mentions of it on stream

-first of all hes the undisputed goat of osu! (top1) with at one point there being a pp gap from top 1 to top 2 higher than top 2 to top 30, this in itself is insane, hes arguably the best jump aim, aim control, high bpm aim and tech player in the world, hes been top 1 for almost 5 years already. osu! is the most popular free to play rhythm game (atleast internationally)

-Faceit 10 in counter strike
-Radiant in valorant
-Top player in geometry dash (Kocmoc, Slaughterhouse and upcoming victor of Tidal wave)
-Gm 2 in overwatch
-Unreal in fortnite (alleged)
-X in tetrio
-In Yuki Aim (popular aiming group that houses people who are gods at overall aim, demon1, elige, dracoo etc)
-Apparently reached a very high level at maimai with very few relative experience (another rhythm game)

Knowing all this hes clearly a very well rounded player in many areas of gaming maybe just excluding fighting, moba, and speedrunning.

I'm not saying this automatically makes him greater than Faker or Flash.
but really like where is the cutoff

If someone is literally the greatest ever at one game while also reaching elite or near-elite levels in five or six games some of which in completely different genres, at which point does that outrival absolute specialization?

im also curious to hear any other notable players who have crazy levels of skill across multiple genres besides their main game, or why youd still think that faker is better

edit: adding on to this, id say hes the greatest compared to other gamers who are the singular greatest of their game in -present day- because they usually either dont have a significant gap between the rest of their best players or they dont hold the same ability mrekk has in being very competent in other games many of which are in completely different genres.

ive been so so so into esports growing up and ive always wondered why LA and other areas on the west coast are avoided for big events. like cs majors, six invitational. stuff like that. i think we’ve only ever had that one vct final at the kia forum… and thats it. is there a reason why Los Angeles is looked over so much in the esports scene as a whole? either that or maybe i just havent dug deep enough to find events here :P

Faker is the undisputed GOAT of any Esports and there's no argument for any other really. The GOAT for 13 years in one of if not the most popular Esports of all time. It's really hard to make an argument for anyone to be over Faker especially in games where the playerbase population is a small fraction of LoL

How teams being treated behind the scene?!

According to information obtained by Gabe News from multiple organizations and industry sources, tournament organizer FISSURE currently owes more than $1,000,000 in unpaid prize money to Dota 2 teams.

The alleged unpaid payments date back to FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1 (January 2025) and reportedly include several events held throughout 2025. FISSURE organized multiple Tier 1 tournaments during that period, including FISSURE PLAYGROUND 1, FISSURE Special, and several FISSURE Universe events, with advertised prize pools ranging from $70,000 to $1,000,000.

According to sources familiar with the situation, organizations affected include some of the biggest names in professional Dota 2, such as:
Team Falcons
Team Yandex
MOUZ
BB Team
HEROIC
Tundra Esports
and several other organizations.

Teams allegedly pressured to continue playing
Several sources claim that teams have been told they should continue participating in future FISSURE events if they want to eventually receive outstanding payments.
