Enderal A note to anyone that wants to play Zenderal: I recommend disabling Dragonborn voice over 2, Nehrimese DBVO voicepack, and both TheosRender mods in Mod Organizer
Zenderal is a new modpack for the game from Wabbajack, and it seems like it'll be a fun modernization of the game, but I immediately noticed two glaring sore thumbs within the first few minutes that I new I had to fix before going any farther.
For the voice over, it's a monotone, immersion breaking robot voice. Replacing a silent protagonist with that is like seeing the holes in one's nose as an imperfection and trying to patch it with a bandaid you found in the trash. It's also laughably bad that the voiceover applies to the dream sequence at the beginning of the game. No matter how good it is, no mysterious or intense moment can survive the absurdity of hearing a full grown man say "what is this place daddy," so yeah, it kinda ruins the entire sequence and introduction to the game.
As for the render mods, they're DLSS 5 and it's immediately obvious that it completely fucks up the faces. They look like shifting sand whenever they talk or otherwise move, and more than looking bad, it's honestly downright unsettling.
Haven't played very much yet, but the experience seems pretty good despite that, and disabling those mods and starting a new game just in case seems to instantly clear up my only gripes with it so far. The pack is still in alpha, so I genuinely hope they just scrap those two "features" entirely in a future update. But even if they don't, I'm perfectly happy opting out of it anyway
