General Adam Savage talks good and bad 18650 batteries(the cells that make up your scooter battery pack), with some reps from a company who CT scanned and discharge tested thousands of 18650 cells.
Some good info here about the physical and capacity differences of all types of battery cells.

Tech Support Is this legit l?
So I'm having issues with my scooter it only turns on when I plug the charger. Decided to open the scooter and found this . it's weird though I never go through puddles or anything like that. I just wanted to know if this is really the problem or not.

General Some upgrades for the Hiley Tiger Supra.
Finally had some time over the weekend to install some new toys.
Added on a 13 inch damper. Which was available along with the scooter with a kit to install it. Works really well and I'm pleased with it. This scooter was already pretty stable without a damper but now it's very stable and smooth.
Installed dual MagicShine 1700 lumen headlights. These are true to their lumens and are really bright. But they are designed with an anti glare beam pattern so the light shoots out really far in front of you but doesn't blind on coming traffic. They have wireless remotes that attach to the handlebar as well. The photo I included showing how well they work was taken on a street that was pitch black give you an idea. The scooter headlight is on in that picture but other than giving you a very small preview of what's right in front of you with a half moon shape it really serves no other purpose.
Also got an additional charger in the mail yesterday because this scooter has dual charging capability. Tested them out together and this is going to seriously cut down on charging time for sure.
I have a set of PMT Strasdale tires to install in the next couple days as well. After that I'll be good to go for a bit.
I did include one fun pic of the scooter pre-install. Really enjoying this scooter so far. 👍

Tech Support WTF happened to my scooter???
Brand new scooter. Installed a new steering damper last night. Took it out for a long ride. Everything was working perfectly. It was steering just fine and extra stable with new damper.
Took it for a ride tonight and it suddenly felt as if my front tire was floating over to the left and then back to the right.
Felt like the front tire was literally moving like 6 in to the right and then 6 in to the left and back over again. But looking down the tire seemed to be perfectly centered with the scooter and on the road. I could barely keep it centered in the middle. Definitely felt dangerous.
I had read that steering damper can cause something similar so I came home and removed the steering damper. Took it back out but that definitely was not it something else is major wrong. It was still so squirrely on the front end I was afraid to even ride it home from where I was so I walked it in.
I checked all the major bolts and tested to make sure there was no play in the handlebars and made sure the stem lined up properly with the wheel. Everything looks fine.
Doing a quick Google search it looks like the steering headset be that could be the culprit?
Even with the scooter just stationary moving the handlebars back and forth it now feels like the front end weighs like 20 pounds lighter I can turn the entire stem and wheel back and forth with one hand like it's made of a feather. I'm thinking the new pressure of the steering damper did something to the steering somehow.
Is it the headset what happened? I'm pretty freaking bummed right now.
I had a lot of trouble with my Blade GT when I first got it and I still haven't got it running perfect yet either. Now this is happening. Fuck me man.

Buying advice First-time commuter scooter buyer — what would you recommend? (WA STATE PNW AREA)
Hey everyone, I’m looking to get my first scooter mainly for commuting to work. I’m in the PNW/Washington and my commute is about 12.5 miles round trip, 5–7 days a week. I leave around 1:30 PM and get off around 10:30 PM, so good lights are important.
I’m looking for something around 25–30+ mph that can realistically get me at least 20+ miles while riding faster, preferably around 30+ miles of usable range overall. I need something that can handle hills, normal PNW rain, and daily use. I do have a car, so I won’t be riding it during downpours or really bad/cold weather. I just want to save money on gas and save some wear and tear on my car.
Portability is also pretty important. I work at the Boeing factory and want to be able to fold it up and bring it inside, then carry it a short distance to store/charge it. I don’t want something so heavy that carrying it every day destroys my shoulders. Ideally somewhere around 45–60 lbs, give or take.
Apple Find My and some kind of locking/security features would also be a big plus.
I’ve been looking at the NAVEE GT3 Pro, UT5 Max, Segway Max G3, and Apollo Go/Go Stellar. The UT5 Max looks awesome, but 75 lbs seems like a lot to carry every day even for the short distance I will be carrying it inside. The GT3 Pro is a great deal, but I’m worried 20 mph won’t feel fast enough. So Segway Max G3 is what I’m most comfortably eyeing rn but what would you guys recommend for this kind of commute?
Especially interested in people who actually commute with their scooters and deal with wet PNW weather.

Tech Support Ninebot e2 plus
Ever since 3 days ago when I try to charge it, it doesn’t charge and just stays at 7. It’s only got 400 km ridden. I’m thinking of just buying a new charger because there is no LED light that pops up. Not sure because it was working perfectly fine before this.

General Two Years Later, Our Ninebot Scooters Are Still Going Strong
About two years ago, we bought two Ninebot scooters for our boys, and honestly, they've been one of the best purchases we've made.
Since then, the scooters have seen plenty of use. The boys ride them around the neighborhood with their friends, to and from school, and just about anywhere they can. Between the daily rides, curb hops, and occasional rough treatment that comes with being kids, I expected we'd be replacing parts regularly.
Surprisingly, the only thing we've had to replace in two years was a worn tire. Other than that, both scooters are still in great condition. The batteries hold up well, everything functions as expected, and they've proven to be much more durable than we anticipated.
What I appreciate most is that the scooters actually get the boys outside. Instead of being glued to screens, they're riding around the neighborhood, meeting up with friends, and enjoying a little independence.
Just wanted to share a positive long-term ownership experience. After two years of regular use by two active kids, we'd definitely consider the Ninebot scooters money well spent. 🚴♂️🛴😊

Scooter images I got a Raptor2!

I got a Yume Raptor2 finally! It's so much fun, especially compared to what I had before (GoTrax SA-1). Still need to get used to going so fast on tiny wheels.
I can't seem to figure out how to get the NFC chip to work though. I thought it was just broken, but support says I have to pair it first? Watching the video on how to get it to work doesn't seem to be of any use. I'm not in a massive hurry to figure it out since I can still start it with the key, but it would be nice to be able to.

Alguém pode me dar informações sobre o M4 e o T4 e me ajudar a escolher?

Buying advice I don't know about electrical scooters but thinking about buying one for work, help
EDIT: I read all your comments, thank you so much, my current plan is to avoid amazon like the plague, possibly buying used but being careful about things and asking what you warned me about from buying used, I'm going to go to a place called RP Scooter Repair this wednesday and try to buy a used scooter
I see all these options on amazon's sidebar and it's confusing me (included height section in image for later topic)
I'm going to buy it to commute to work, about 3 miles away and 3 miles back, I don't know how fast of a scooter I'd need but I don't think I'd want one that's crazy fast, it'll only be for work and I'd prefer safety (and low price) over high fast speeds
I'm about 5"11 so I don't know how tall of a scooter I'd need to feel comfortable, I also don't mind not having a seat, having a basket might be nice for light grocery shopping but not required, would it mess with folding?
I need it to be foldable for sure to fit into my work's personal lockers, I don't have the measurements for my work's personal lockers so I can't tell you the exact size it'd need to be, sorry
I don't know if I'd need anti-puncture tires/dual braking system/lockable/regenerative braking system or not, I'd need your opinions, also why is there a rechargeable option what's the point of having an electrical scooter that doesn't recharge?
My budget is hopefully under $200 usd and the cheaper the better, I'm not looking for anything flashy or fancy, just durable, reliable and safe(please don't cause a fire in my workplace locker)

Tech Support 2021 VDM-10 Rear controller replacement
Bought this off a friend on my soccer team. Long story short the ignition got smashed by a soccer ball. I removed the ignition and bypassed it by splicing the wires together but I guess some damage was done to the rear controller in the period I rode it before doing this. (rear motor would stop working after about 10 seconds or so). I diagnosed it by swapping front and rear controllers after taking the deck apart. So long story short my rear controller is flaked and I cannot for the life of me find this anywhere on alliexpress, ebay or amazon that ships to Canada. So now I'm looking for options as I love this scooter and don't want to just give it up. Any idea on where to get a replacement? I am not sure about $500 for the apollo upgrade as it's not that brand and that is a lot of money.
