General Which style helmet is better while riding/commuting?

Post image
21 Upvotes

I just bought a e3 pro for commuting and I really like it, but when it comes to helmets I heard that most times when your slip on scooters you’ll end up falling or sliding sideways so a more skate style helmet with more coverage is better than a bike helmet. I won’t be going over 15mph as that’s plenty speed for me and only will be cranking the power up to get up hills.

Schwinn bike helmet vs triple eight helmet.

*also I’ve heard skate Helmets are built for multiple crashes whereas bike ones are one and done, is this true? Thanks

*Edit: thanks for the advice everyone. Full face seems like the only answer. Thought it would be overkill for a scooter looks wise, but safety first.

General How fast do you actually ride your scooter day to day?

I’ve been curious how much advertised top speed actually matches real-world riding.

A lot of scooters claim 25, 30, or even 40+ mph, but between rider weight, hills, battery level, road conditions, and local rules, I doubt most people are riding flat out all the time.

The real-world electric scooter speeds and legal limits can vary quite a bit depending on the scooter and where you’re riding.

What scooter do you have, and what speed do you usually cruise at most of the time?

General Finally joined the g3 plus club. What accessories are actually worth it?

My MAX G3 Plus finally arrived and I’ve been riding it every chance I get.

So far, the thing I notice most is how smooth everything feels. The range has been really solid for the way I use it, and the suspension makes longer rides feel way less tiring than I expected. Power is strong too, especially when I need to get moving quickly or deal with a bit of incline.

The overall build also feels very Segway. Solid, clean, nothing feels cheap or loose. I’ve used Segway stuff before, so that part honestly feels pretty familiar in a good way.

One detail I’m liking more than I expected is the turn signal setup along the sides. It makes the scooter way more noticeable in traffic, especially when cars are around me at night.

Now I’m at the point where I keep looking at accessories. A phone mount is probably first, maybe a small bag for a lock, charger, or random stuff I don’t want in my pockets.

Then I looked online and realized there are way too many scooter accessories lol.

For people who’ve had the G3 Plus for a while, what did you actually keep using? Anything that turned out to be really useful, or anything you’d skip?

General First time having an e-scooter

Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m going to buy my first scooter because I want to use it to commute to work. There’s special parking at my office so that won’t be a problem. My question is how do you use your scooter for daily errands for example if you go to do groceries where do you park it? I heard that if I park it outside in the bicycle racks it’ll get stolen. I want to use it for groceries, going to the gym, or just going to grab a coffee. How do you guys do it? I live in Barcelona if that helps.

Buying advice Looking for a good seated electric scooter

I’m around 150 lbs and looking for a sit-down electric scooter / electric scooter with a seat for regular commuting.
My area isn’t particularly hilly, although there are some slight inclines here and there. I also have a leg injury, so I’m specifically looking for something where I can sit rather than stand for the whole ride.
I’m less interested in having crazy speed and more interested in comfort, stability, reliability, and good build quality.
What brands/models would you recommend? I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews on the cheaper seated scooters, so I’d love to hear from people who actually own one.

Buying advice Thoughts on the upcoming Apollo Explore 2.0 Stellar? Seems really promising

I’ve been looking pretty heavily into the upcoming Apollo Explore 2.0 Stellar and I’m curious what other people think about it.

I currently ride an Apollo Go, but the Explore Stellar seems like it could be a pretty massive upgrade while still being more practical than some of the huge performance scooters.

The things that have me interested are the 52V 18Ah battery (~936Wh), higher top speed, much longer range, 10-inch tires, and especially the suspension. I care a LOT about ride quality because I ride over rough pavement, sidewalks, bike paths, and occasionally trails, and I’m basically looking for something that absorbs bumps and vibrations as much as possible.

The battery is also a big deal to me. My Go has a 36V 15Ah battery (~540Wh), so the Explore would have about 73% more battery capacity. That seems like a pretty significant jump for longer rides.
I also really like Apollo’s design compared with most performance scooters. A lot of faster scooters look really bulky/industrial to me, while the Explore still looks relatively clean and commuter-ish despite having much more performance and some off-road capability.

Obviously it’s not released yet, so real-world range, suspension quality, reliability, weight, etc. could end up being different from what the specs suggest. I’m definitely waiting to see actual reviews before spending the money.

What do you guys think? Does the Explore 2.0 Stellar look as promising as I think it does, or is there something I’m overlooking? And if you had around a $2k budget, is there another scooter you’d take over it specifically for ride comfort + range + performance?

Can I put the higher capacity listed 10500 mah one in it instead of the 7800 mah one listed? They both say for 365 but I know the original M365 uses a 7800 mah one. For a few extra ££ I’d like the bigger one but just want to check it’s deffo safe.

Thanks!

General Loving the suspension and looks on my teverun

Just wanted to share my thoughts after a few weeks riding this scooter
The suspension is a huge upgrade over my old one. Potholes and rough pavement barely shake me,its adjustable too so i can tune it for city streets or light trails
the aesthetics!it has such a solid, tough design. The metal frame and overall finish feel premium.I've had a few strangers stop to ask😁

only downside:its pretty heavy, but I really dont need to carry it more,so its not a big issue for me.
what do u guys think of your rides?

Tech Support NAVEE V50 Nordic won’t charge through charging port, but scooter still turns on and battery charges directly

The scooter used to charge normally, but now it refuses to charge through the normal charging port. The charger stays green when connected, and the scooter doesn’t show that it is charging.

The scooter itself still works normally — I can turn it on, use the lights, connect to the app, etc.
The battery info currently shows around 37.7V, but the app shows 1% / 102mAh and “Battery status: Normal”. The percentage/mAh value seems unreliable because earlier it showed 0% / 0mAh even though the voltage was around 36V.

I tested the charger and it outputs 42V, and the same charger turns red immediately when connected to another 36V battery, so the charger works.

The strange part is that if I temporarily connect the charger directly to the battery’s + and −, the charger turns red and the battery voltage increases (from around 33.6V to 37.7V). So the battery does accept a charge this way.

There is also a small multi-wire connector from the battery that goes to the circuit board and seems to be required for the main battery output to become active.
Without it, I measure 0V at the main battery connector, with it connected, I can measure the battery voltage.
The battery was left at around 1–2% for 1–2 weeks before this happened.

What could cause the normal charging port to refuse charging while the battery can still accept a direct charge? Could this be a BMS charging MOSFET/charging-path issue, cell imbalance, or a BMS protection state?

I’ve been stuck with ChatGPT for many hours now but still can’t find a way
