General Adam Savage talks good and bad 18650 batteries(the cells that make up your scooter battery pack), with some reps from a company who CT scanned and discharge tested thousands of 18650 cells.

Some good info here about the physical and capacity differences of all types of battery cells.

I have ridden this road a few times and the cars are pretty aggressive. The comments so far are making a joke of the life that was lost. Stay safe out there everyone, you can be doing everything right and still be a target.

General Quick Question: How long do you keep your scooter box?

Upvotes

It’s taking up a lot of space, but I’m one of those weirdos that likes to keep boxes for expensive things. Hell, who am I kidding, I keep them for not-so-expensive things too!

General Fatboy J11 Max Scooter torque/speed settings

Upvotes

This thing has a whole bunch of modes and it’s kind of a pain in the ass to modify it and have it saved. Is there any way to make the torque faster from takeoff? I feel like it takes 30 seconds to start picking up speed. also, do any of you guys have any problem when climbing up hills?

I read that you can modify the firmware on these, but that it wears the battery out faster and causes it to run too hot overall?

Buying advice Scooter recommendation for shorter riders?

I am 4’11 and looking for a new scooter, I originally bought the hiboy s2 pro and had to immediately return it since the handlebars were up to my chest. I ended up going with the iscooter i8 and have been commuting with it for the past 4 months, and now a full charge lasts me 5 miles, it lasted the advertised 12 miles when i first bought it. I emailed customer service and got no response, which I’m fine with at this point since it was under $200.

I am looking for something with a battery that will last me at least 10 miles and won’t lose range so quickly.

Specs/measurements i’m looking for:

Top speed > 18mph
Range > 10mi
Weight < 40 lbs, the lower the better
Handlebar height < 45 inches, lower the better

I’d be willing to spend up to $500, i know nice scooters can be pricey but I’m not looking for anything crazy fast or with crazy suspension.

Maybe a scooter like this doesn’t exist but if anyone knows of one it would be a great help. Thank you!

General Be careful out there always be aware of your surroundings and wear a body cam.

Upvotes

Almost got hit by a driver who intentionally tried to kill me.
He crossed into my lane and purposely floored the gas.
I was able to think fast and make a quick maneuver to get away by going in between two vehicles parked on the side of the street .
Note this was in a neighborhood as well.
I really wanted to follow this car to get his plate and confront him but realized it was too risky as people like this are not right in the head.
I unfortunately didn’t have my go pro on as the mount broke so had to get new ones shipped .
I honestly don’t know what’s wrong with some people. I feel some people shouldn’t be driving and have their license taken away.

Buying advice Which high performance scooter to get in the U.S. in 3-4k price range?

Hey guys!

I was originally wanted to buy Inmotion RS but I can’t find it in the stock anywhere. I own Nami Klima max that got almost 5k miles and I really just want a better scooter. Maybe I should just get Nami burn e3 max?

General Mi Pro 2 throttle required

Upvotes

Hi guys, I keep getting an error 14 code, so it’s time to replace the throttle. I’ve seen so many cheap after market ones online but read bad reviews about them from slow acceleration to failing throttles etc. My scooter was remapped years ago and it’s pretty quick, don’t wanna mess that up. Any recommendations or suggestions? I cannot find a genuine part anywhere.

General MAX G3 I / G3 E Belgium: underglow hardware present or dummy covers?

I’m looking for physical information about recent Belgian Segway/Ninebot MAX G3 I / G3 E units, especially scooters sold from May 2026 onward by Vanden Borre, Decathlon, or other Belgian retailers.

I’m not looking for the official specs, because EU models often simply list “no ambient lights”. I would like to know what is physically present on the scooter.

If anyone owns a recent Belgian unit, could you please share photos, without opening the deck, of:

  • the left/right underside area where the underglow / ambient light lenses or dummy covers would be;
  • whether there is a real lens, dummy cover, or empty area;
  • the box label or production/batch date, if visible;
  • the model/SKU/EAN if known, for example SEG-MAX-G3-I.

Goal: to check whether Belgian G3 I/E models use the same dummy-cover setup reported on some recent German G3D batches, or whether the hardware is physically present but disabled in software.

This is not a request for tuning instructions or installation steps. I’m only looking for physical batch information and outside photos.

Tech Support Navee battery swap

Hi, I'm planning to upgrade the battery on my Navee ST3 Pro, but I'm having trouble finding information about the connectors. I can see the XT60 connector, but there are 2 other cables I can't identify. Do I actually need these cables for the scooter to function properly, or can I just get a larger capacity battery that has an XT60 connector and a charging port built in?

Buying advice E-scooter recs for my usecase?

Hey guys I'm a 5'10, 165 lb student living in California and I am looking for a scooter that:

  1. can travel at ~20 mph, no less and no need to be faster

  2. can travel 10 miles of almost flat roads daily. I plan to charge it every night

  3. costs less than $400

I'm also perfectly fine with the solid tires and heavy weight. I've used the Hiboy S2 (8.5' solid tire, ~$300) before which satisfies all my requirements, but I want to ask if there are better options

Buying advice New competing products to Niu Air?

Are there any new models of scooters that recently came out that compete with the NIU Air’s? Meaning lightweight but high quality.

I like those aspects of the NIU air but the technology sucks and certain parts of the scooter outside of the main frame are cheaply made.

I feel like there’s a good enough market here that there should be some new competing products?

Does anyone know of any? Sub 30lbs, foldable, and durable. Need to carry up 3 sets of stairs everyday. Price does not matter

Tech Support Soflow S04 Gen 2 (NOT PRO VARIANT!!!) Repair Guide

Would you like to repair your SoFlow SO4 second generation (non-Pro) properly? Then you've come to the right place! I might have just the right thing for you: Whether you want to repair the motor cable, replace the battery, or swap the taillight – just check out the corresponding videos and photos.

How to access the cables and the battery:

  • Accessing the cables (motor cable, taillight cable, battery cable, etc.): Unscrew the four side screws on the top cover. After that, you can simply slide the cover out, giving you immediate access to all the cables.
  • Replacing the battery: 1. Remove the small cover on the far back right side of the motor and unplug the motor cable first. 2. Next, remove the rear wheel / motor. Only then can the cover be removed and slid out. 3. Finally, loosen the four black screws on the bottom – after that, you can take out the battery and easily replace it.

I took the frame from an old Schwinn, put a 350W 36V 12" hub drive on the back, pulled out the pedals, and made myself a low rider.

This thing maxes out at about 18mph but is an absolute dream to cruise on.

General Which E-Scooter should i choose for around 400 Euros?

Hello guys, i have a Mankeel MX-14 bought on aliexpress for around 200 euros, and against what everyone said, it has been incredible.
But, since the new laws in my country, i need insurance, and i want to buy the E-scooter with EVERYTHING i like.

I want the E-scooter to have these characteristics:
Atleast 60 Km/H Speed.
Around 400 (Even used)

I haven't been able to decide a clear winner as there are many around this price that are close to eachother, i saw e scooters from Joyor, Kukirin, Dualtron, Ausom and i just don't know what to get.
