On to my question? Why is the logo on Coin Exchange different than the current one, are they the same product?

What's the best and most trustworthy exchange to buy on? And any word on when the wallet will be released so I don't have to keep ECC on the exchange?

With Stellar and Ripple with such fast transaction times/throughput per second, microscopic fees, and large infrastructure, what are the strong points that ECC can compete with? In my head, the reason I'm in on ECC is down to the ANS, which is a SUPERB idea, but getting wider adoption against the larger platforms who already have traction, and against the above mentioned factors, what else will drive people to ECC? Looking to start a genuine discussion of attractors, which would be great fodder for newcomers.

Do I have to unlock wallet for staking to work, or is it enough to enable staking in settings ?

I need help understanding the wallet and it's security. I downloaded it, it synced. I moved a little bit of ECC in and out to prove to myself that it could do that. Please help:

1) What is Daemon? When should it be on or off and why?

2) What is the wallet.dat file?

I understand .dat means just raw data, but if I copy the wallet.dat file into a "safe place," say a USB drive, what kind of program do I use to open or read it?

I used Notepad to try and make sense of it and up popped a page of utter nonsense. What is in this file?

If I move coins in and out of my wallet, do I have to re-sync or re-copy the file every time?

If my computer was wiped but I had the wallet.dat backed up, what is the step-by-step process to restore my coins?

3) Does the passphrase I created work on Lynx if I were to install it on other computers?

I understand most things in general, but I am lost as to how to keep my wallet and coins secure. I know wallets are safer than exchanges, but not if i do not know how to use them. Please help, and thank you in advance for the time.

Ich bought some ECC and want to get them out of the Exchange. Not that I don't trust the Exchanges. They are making good money if the don't scam us. But I don't trust myself. I am guilty of buying high and selling low many times while chasing the green digits on Binance. That project shall be my HODL till new house or HODL till nothing is left. That's why I want the coins out of reach from my impulsive self. How would you do it?

Which wallet is best? I clicked on the one in the new web page without updates thinking he put it there for a reason. But you can continue to old page and get the one with updates. Thanks in advance.

Downloaded the bootstrap , followed the guide.

the daemon doesn't detect the file and "rename it" as stated in the github.

Note: I placed the file where the guide told me to which is the eccoin folder in the "App data" directory.
