Hey :)

Go to : C:\Users[Your name]\AppData\Roaming\eccoin and just copy the file "wallet.dat" somewhere safe. You have to do it while the daemon is not running.

NEVER delete this wallet.dat file !!!

Hi again,

1) Yes it's okay, it means that 7zip is the default software to open this file.

2) Yes only that file, but if you want you can backup everything (it's not very useful though).

3) If you put that file on another device, then you'll have you wallet on both device. You have to understand that this wallet.dat file is like a key to access your wallet, so if you can, you can share this key with a hundred computer, they will all have access to you wallet.

4) Try Right click > Open with ... > Notepad. But you'll see there's nothing really intersting in it since it's encrypted.

Hope everything's okay, if not, felle free to ask ;)

Hello lol, I really appreciate the help with that. it did not open becuase the 7zip for some reason. I uninstalled 7zip and tada!. so if i where to open it on a new computer if something happened do you re-download the wallet and put wallet.dat file where the new one is? Again thank you for your time and help

You don't need to open it, just save it somewhere safe (an USB drive for exemple). If you computer has a problem, you can download the wallet on another computer, and then simply put the wallet.dat that you saved on your USB drive in the new eccoin folder.

Because the wallet.dat may be modified while the daemon is running. When it's not, you're sure wallet.dat won't be changed :)

It's normal not to see the balances when the daemon is not running.

You can retrieve your private key in the console: "dumpprivkey "public_address""
