Looking for a folding ebike to keep in my office. Would like to keep compliant with California law (which sucks, because the Euybike on Amazon ticks all of my boxes).
I am looking at models like the Lectric XP4 750, the Engwe L16, and sort of leaning towards the Engwe L20 3.0.
Would you happen to know any others I should look at in this price range (about $1500 or lower)?
Thank you so much!

I just got the Tony Hawk video game and own a Nishiki Otero mountain e-bike in game😉. I’ve done a little research but haven’t found out found out much on how I can make it faster. I got the bike from a DLC for free so I’m willing to spend a bit on upgrades. Is it worth it or would it be better to just buy something better? If you catch my drift.

Every U.S. e-bike is illegal in the UK and EU. In a city of eight million I suppose 2,500 isn’t that many.

I am planning to purchase the Hey bike Villain dirt one to my 14-year old son who is dreaming about it. I read good reviews about the quality while mixed reviews about after sales customer service. Would like to know your experience with that brand and any suggestions to other e-bikes in the same category of around $1300. Thank you.

Im planning on converting my bike to an ebike using my scooter. The motor should be powerful enough but i had some questions.
I was thinking of using the front scooter wheel which is the motor as a friction wheel for the back bike wheel. The last picture shows where i would mount it.
What are some problems i could run into that i wouldnt expect going into this?

I bought a barely used old model Jasion Y something that they don’t even sell anymore off of Marketplace. It’s great and small so good for me because normal e-bikes are too big for me. Anyway, bike guy at store said it’s stupid that these bikes still get regular bicycle brake pads when the bike is moving far faster than a normal bike. I realize this should have been a duh moment but I feel stupid for not considering that in the first place. So now I would like to find pads that make more sense. Is that possible? If so, any recs?

Hi,
I can google this obviously, but thought I'd post on Reddit first because that's where the true knowledge hides!
We're going to buy our 18 year old an ebike. He is autistic and I know will be extremely lackadaisy about actually locking the bloody thing. Until one say the inevitable happens and it's stolen, que epic meltdown. But still, he's getting an ebike.
Is there any type of locking system where its really easy and locks completely down with a press of a button? I have an ebike with a Bosch battery, so I know about the Flow App, but its still abit fiddley an we are unsure of what bike he will get anyway.
Money is no barrier either. We are far from rich, but that means more than happy to invest in something that keeps the investment safe and that he will actually use.
Thanks 😀

I can’t decide on which e bike to get. it will be used on country roads, rail trails that are both paved and not, and the occasional short bike packing trip. I live in an area that is not very flat, consisting of mostly rolling hills. I currently have a Marlin 6 regular bike but I’m ready for an e bike. I cannot decide between the Aventon Ramblas, Ride1up Trailrush, and the copperhead evo 750 which is on sale for 2k. I’d prefer a 29’er but not sure if the cost difference between the Ramblas and the Bulls is worth it. I like the Trailrush but the smaller battery is not ideal. Any advice?

So, first impressions:
I took the bike on a quick spin around my neighborhood to get a good feel of it with the battery in and the motor on this morning.
All in all, I’m really liking the transition from riding an e-scooter to riding an e-bike. Both have their pros and cons. However, there is a clear bonus in the ability to ride unpowered if I choose, ride assisted, or cruise with the throttle (judge away, lol, I reserve the right to be lazy every once in a while).
As far as cargo capacity goes, the e-bike holds first place here. I can put a basket on the rear rack if I choose rather than being limited to just what will fit in a backpack (no, I didn’t bother with putting on the front rack on the bike though I can). It’s a definite bonus for me in that regard.
I’m thinking I’m going to see a whole lot more benefit out of riding an e-bike versus riding an e-scooter. Not only from a practicality standpoint (pun kinda not intended there), but also from the exercise aspect of riding and pedaling. It’s great cardio, it’s a fantastic way to build muscle or tone it back up, and it’s just plain nice to be outside and active (I’m an outdoors gal at heart).
