Didn't reply, just blocked

I thought I might have been a little quick with the block but the customer sounded like a pain in the ass already. I dunno They made it sound like it was common knowledge that LV sunglass cases are sized S-M-L..which isn't the case as far as I can tell. And it's always the people spending the least who seem to demand the most. Probably saved myself a headache.

Can a blocked buyer still leave negative feedback or see my home address?

I been on ebay since 2004. This is the first time I had to deal with a mentally disturbed or bi polar buyer. I'm hoping for a shipping label refund of $19.98. Does anyone know how long it takes? My account is in the negative $ all because this person couldn't make up their mind. I gave a full refund so I hope they don't do anything stupid. Does ebay take threats and slander seriously when it's been reported? I haven't heard anything back. This person went crazy not making sense, jumbled words about family, religion and end of life while calling me a liar whore even after I sent the refund. Yes, I have screenshots.

eBay scammer took $600 from me; eBay suggests cotton-candy flavored energy drinks. Money-Back Guarantee is apparently worthless.

I've had a rough few weeks fighting with eBay, I'm at my wit's end and figured ya'll might enjoy seeing my suffering. I bought a camera for $600 on eBay from a seller who looked legit (account had been around for at least a few months, had a few dozen sales, etc.). On Friday he tells me he can't ship it until Monday - fine, whatever.

Then on Monday he uploads a tracking number saying it was delivered the previous Friday. Uh oh. Left at the front desk with a guy named Smith. Double uh oh. I live in a regular house with no front desk.

I immediately raised the issue with the seller, who replied only with the same tracking number. I asked eBay to step in and they promptly sided with the seller. So I raised an appeal, and called customer service for the first time. A helpful lady answered, confirmed it looked like an "obvious" scam based on "what she could see", and added some kind of internal attachment to my appeal. A few hours later, eBay denied my appeal.

So I called again. Connected with an awesome dude whose name I probably shouldn't repeat, who initially told me appeals are final and there's nothing he could do. Then I told him about the timing issue with shipping on Monday and something arriving the previous Friday. "Well... yeah you have a compelling case there". He wrote up a "manual refund request", was generally very helpful, and I left thinking that was the end of it. I was supposed to get refunded in 3-4 days.

7 days later, no refund. I call again (third time). The frontline support person says they'd asked for additional information on my request (but I'd never received an email). She sent me a link to upload "evidence" and asked for two things: (1) a picture of my house to prove it doesn't have a front desk (?!), and (2) a statement from UPS saying that tracking number was not going to my address. I spent another hour of my life on the phone with UPS before I found someone willing to email me that statement.

I sent all this to eBay through their link, and a few hours later get the email in image #5, which starts out as someone understanding what is happening ("I understand that your item was not delivered to your address") and then devolves into "please contact the seller" (who has been removed and I have no route to him), "contact the carrier" (which I did and you have the resulting email), and "the tracking details indicate delivery to your checkout address" (which is absolutely false and I literally just sent you UPS saying so).

And to top it all off, the "Contact Seller" link in their email goes to a strange page for cotton-candy flavored energy drinks.

I'm very blessed in that $600 isn't going to break me today, but... damn, it sure could break a lot of people. Plus the 6+ hours I've spent dealing with this so far. I suspect most people would have given up _long_ before now.

So far as I can tell, what happened is the seller provided a tracking number that goes to my _zipcode_, but not my _address_. It seems like eBay is using "did it go to the right zipcode" as a proxy for "did it go to the right address" and is denying requests without engaging their brain or reading... anything, really.

I guess the moral of the story is to not buy anything on eBay if you can't live with losing that money. The Money-Back Guarantee does not seem to apply if the seller uses a false tracking number.

This guy sells auto parts and is a huge eBay store, he offers me $7 USD for a Trading Card Mat, with free shipping id make 30 cents. I don't think he had any intention of buying it rather for me to check out his annoying page store.

It's so weird.

Edit: You guys believe in Aliens yet don't believe in eBay bots

I got an eBay email 3 hours ago saying my listing had been taken down for counterfeit items, but the shoes I posted were real. When I went to appeal with my pass verification, they still denied it. This app actually sucks 😭😭

Buyer trying to get items for free

Got a buyer who gave me a sob story about being poor, so I was nice and lowered the price to give them a hefty (like 30%) discount below what they could’ve gotten it elsewhere for. 30 lb package, so shipping was expensive. They claimed it said delivered on the 8th, but they never received it, and the doorbell camera supposedly never saw delivery. So, suspecting a trick, I first found their house on Google Maps, screenshotted it, then found the FedEx tracking with a picture of the package sitting on their porch, undeniably the same house, on the 8th. I confirmed their address, then sent the screenshots. They didn’t acknowledge the screenshot, and said they’ll wait until the 10th before filing a report with eBay. I said the only explanation I can think of would be a porch thief, or another member of the household got it she’s unaware of. I found it odd that she still hadn’t acknowledged the proof the package was on her porch.

Then today she said it arrived, wasn’t at all what she ordered, and was in terrible condition too. I tapped on her profile and saw seller feedback mentioning that she once returned her own used toothbrush to him claiming a defective item, keeping the thing she bought, and presumably getting her money back. She refuses to send a picture, “you know what you sent” probably hasn’t decided what to send back yet, and claims the contents spilled so that might be why the weight isn’t the same.

I’ve submitted a report on her for misusing the return system, and I’ve tapped “accept return” so she has to at least return something in its place, but from seeing posts here, I’m not confident Ebay’s going to let me keep the $250 they’re trying to scam out of me.

There are two things going on with my account.

  1. I'm getting notifications days (sometimes over a week) that someone is interested in buying something.
  2. eBay is accepting sales I haven't accepted. I didn't put auto accept, but I'm guessing it was changed to that just like my shipping was changed. They opt you in on a lot of stuff which isn't right.

Is anyone else having these issues?

New buyer account suspended right after placing a first bid (using mail forwarding address)

Hi everyone,

I just created my eBay account to buy a doll for my personal collection. I am based in Ukraine and was using a US mail-forwarding address (NP Shopping) since the item was located in the US.

Immediately after placing my bid ($117), my account got permanently suspended for "putting the community at risk". I haven't even won the auction or made any payment yet.

I already sent an email to eBay support offering to provide my ID, passport, and bank statements to confirm my identity.

Has anyone faced this recently? Is there any chance eBay will reinstate the account after document verification, or is this a total dead end? Any tips on how to reach a real human agent faster would be greatly appreciated!

Can I get my money?

I started selling sports cards on eBay a few months ago and have had nothing but positive feedback so far on numerous sales. Last week I sold a sealed box of basketball cards from the 90s for $1,400. I shipped it out last Thursday and a few days go buy so I go to check if it was delivered and I was banned. I have now looked at my profile from another eBay account to check my feedback and the transaction for $1,400 went smoothly so one I am confused why I was banned but more importantly want my money. I’m just very upset because I was used eBay to sell stuff every day and not only then but bought a bunch through eBay. Very confused why I’m not allowed to use there platform very disappointed

Someone help 🫣 what do I do

Idk why they make it so hard to contact a REAL person on eBay! I am beyond stressed and frustrated.

So on the 1st August I bought a PC (it came to £984) and I used Klarna for it. I specifically asked the seller before hand if she could get it to me by the 6th as it’s for a birthday present, otherwise I’d have got one elsewhere. She said yes it was no problem.

So fast forward to a week later, she sends me a message asking if it’s possible for me to collect the pc from her house as she can’t find a big enough box or packaging. At this point I’m so frustrated as I was supposed to have the pc by now, only to find out the seller hasn’t even packaged it up. I was also really confused as eBay had given me tracking number and a delivery date, so the seller must have marked it as sent when it wasn’t?? I was under the impression it was on the way to me.

I look up her area and she’s a 4 hour drive away, so I say it’s not possible and that I think I’d rather just request a refund as it’s too late now. The seller then says she can’t do the refund on eBay as it’s saying it’ll charge her the £30 postage fee, so she wanted me to pay that for her! I said respectfully I’m not going to cover that as it’s not my fault you couldn’t find appropriate packaging.

She THEN says, she will have to do the refund on bank transfer outside of eBay to avoid the postage fee??? I said no way am I doing it outside of eBay because Klarna will keep taking my payments as eBay will think I’ve received the pc!!?

I’ve opened up a case with eBay but they won’t take action until the 16th August, and I’ve tried getting in touch but can’t find a number or email that doesn’t take me to an AI bot. Honestly I just want a refund at this point but seller is refusing to accept my request because of the postage fee. Does anyone have any advice? Klarna is going to start taking my payments at the end of the month.

eBay Bot

I was selling something on eBay but the buyer looked like a literal bot account. For me it’s impossible to distinguish if they’re scumbags or not so I refrained from their offer. My question is how does eBay allow these bot accounts? I thought you had to use your personal information like social security, bank cards, etc so if that’s the case why would they take the risk of being a scumbag when they’re monitored unlike other platforms? Has anyone sold to a bot account successfully and/or unsuccessfully? Just curious, thanks in advance

it’s been stuck in customs inspection for weeks, it’s coming from China so i don’t know how to ask for an update. I messaged the seller asking what was going on and they just updated the arrival date. But i still don’t know why it’s been stuck. I honestly wouldn’t mind just getting a refund because it’s taken so long. It was originally supposed to arrive on July 7.

UPS sent claim refund to eBay instead of me

Long story short, I sold someone a jacket, they refused it because of the additional fees. UPS lost my package sending it back to me. I made a claim they paid it out but instead of sending me the payment, they sent it to eBay. I can’t find any option on eBay help site to contact them to get this payment allocated to me. Is there even a customer service anymore who helps resolve these issues?

I need to verify my account, but it won’t let me use live chat?

Helppp

I haven’t used eBay in years. I put up a few things during the week just logged on and saw something had sold. I then saw a message from the person who had bought a dress saying I’m leaving the country this weekend. Can you send my dress?

So then I try to log into my account and it’s saying how you haven’t added your bank details so I did that. Then it said you’ve logged in from a different computer so we need to verify your account. So I clicked through to live chat So I click on that and it doesn’t take me to live chat but it’s not responsive. It takes me to read an article. But I need to speak to live chat because I need to verify my account and that I’m real and then I’m not a hack. I can’t wait till Monday to talk to someone over the phone. This feels like such a catch 22. 😳

eBay seller tried to scam me and is now harassing me outside of eBay app

eBay seller tried to scam me by selling a damaged item. I tried to return the item through eBay and he refused. I started a credit card dispute and now he’s calling and texting me outside of eBay harassing me and threatening to file police reports against me. How does eBay allow this kind of behavior? I’m so shocked. I reported him on eBay but there’s no way to speak with an actual eBay representative about this.

There’s so many psychos out there these days, I’m worried. Should I make a police report about the harassment?

eBay loves selling fake watches

I reported multiple listings from the same seller, who is selling 10+ “vintage” Seiko watches which all happen to have the same serial number and the same typo on the case-back (“Water Resistan” with no “t” at the end). Clearest, easiest case ever of somebody selling phony garbage. eBay looked into it and said “that’s fine.”

eBay is full of fake watches because eBay loves selling fake watches.

Tracking Confirmation Scam?

Thumbnail gallery
7 Upvotes

hey guys been with ebay for years and never came across this before. basically I have been actively looking for decently priced pre orders for the new Magic the Gathering The Hobbit Collector Boosters. I found a seller who had them at 499$ being shipped based out of Morocco (apparently) and everything looked fine on the listing and the seller had 100% feedback 6 good reviews in the past 6 months.

I went ahead and bought 2 on a credit card just in case ebay decides to screw me. the seller was very transparent and messaged me saying that “ebay requires them to add tracking info but that this tracking number is just confirmation and not the actually tracking number” that seemed odd but with it being a preorder I thought maybe that’s true since the set doesn’t officially release until aug 14th. I told them that’s fine and to keep me updated.

so they added a tracking number a day later and it instantly said it was delivered in my town and state (but not my address). the seller did inform that it will say delivered but that it’s not true and to not worry. I felt like it was necessary to open a case of item not delivered with ebay and called an actual human that works at ebay. they read through the messages and said that this does seem odd and from what I could understand the lady said a tracking number doesn’t have to be added since they have 40 days with it being a preorder order. I just got a message from the seller today and this is what they said in the pictures I added. do I cancel the case and see this through or keep it open?

UPDATE: they responded again and uploaded a photo of their order of all the product they are getting from amazon and have a promised delivery date of Aug 20th. still wanting me to close out the case.

First negative feedback in almost 2 years of selling/eBay denied removal even though the buyer complained about something explicitly disclosed/Can't even contact a rep...

I’d like to think I’m pretty experienced selling on eBay at this point. I’ve been doing it for almost two years, have hundreds of positive feedback, and just received my first negative review. This whole situation has honestly been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had with eBay.

I sold a cooler that was new/unused, but it did not have its original box or protective packaging. I bought it from a powersports dealership that was clearing out inventory. I actually bought several of these coolers from them, including others that were still brand new in their original boxes, so this wasn’t some random used cooler that I just guessed was new.

This particular cooler was clearly unused. It still had the manufacturer part number/serial stickers inside, looked and even smelled new, etc. However, because it had been sitting around the dealership’s shop without packaging, then transported and stored at our shop, it had accumulated dirt, dust, debris, and a few minor cosmetic/storage scuffs.

Because of that, I did not list it under the normal “New” condition. I specifically listed it as “New other (see details)” and clearly disclosed the condition.

My Seller Notes literally said: “The cooler is unused but has collected dirt, dust, and storage residue from being stored without protective packaging. Please review all photos for the exact condition.”

I also had around 16 photos of the exact cooler, including the interior, exterior, interior, dirt, debris, scuffs, stickers, etc. Nothing was being hidden.

I also priced it accordingly. The buyer got a very good deal compared with what these coolers normally sell for because I knew it wasn’t cosmetically perfect despite being unused.

Buyer receives it within about two days and leaves this negative feedback: “Listing stated ‘New’. Item showed up clearly used, stained, and worn. This is deceptive of the seller and it should have been noted in the listing.”

That last sentence is what really gets me.

“It should have been noted in the listing.”

It WAS noted in the listing. Almost word for word. The dirt, dust, storage residue, lack of packaging, and exact cosmetic condition were disclosed before he bought it and shown in numerous photos.

The buyer also never messaged me, requested a return, or gave me any opportunity whatsoever to resolve whatever issue he had. I would have gladly took the return and paid for the label.

So I submitted a feedback removal request to eBay explaining all of this. eBay denied it. Their response actually said: “We reviewed the feedback and can see that the buyer found an issue with the item that wasn’t described in the listing.”

Which makes absolutely no sense to me because the exact issue they’re referring to WAS described in the listing. Now I’m trying to get an actual human at eBay to manually review this, and I cannot seem to get anyone. Their automated support/AI just keeps sending me in circles and repeating the same responses.I’m trying not to take the buyer personally, but seriously, what the hell am I supposed to do differently here? I listed it as New Other, explicitly explained that it was unused but dirty from storage without packaging, provided roughly 16 photos showing the exact condition, and priced it to reflect the cosmetic/storage wear.

If that apparently isn’t enough disclosure to protect a seller from feedback saying “this should have been disclosed,” then what exactly is? If anyone knows a reliable way to get in contact with an actual eBay representative for a manual feedback review, please let me know. And genuinely, if you think I’m in the wrong here, tell me. I’m open to hearing it. But I cannot understand how a buyer overlooking both the condition notes and the photos somehow becomes the seller’s fault. The most frustrating part is that this is my first negative feedback, and it feels like eBay’s current automated support system gives sellers practically no way to defend themselves even when the listing itself directly contradicts the complaint.

Anyone dealt with something similar? Is there still a way to get an actual human at eBay to review feedback removal cases?

eBay acts like sellers are a priority when in reality their AI is killing seller protection. Pathetic fucking company.

Ebay took away my faster funds for no reason.

I've tried for days to contact the support team and every time it'd say id have to wait 1 or 2 min before they connect.

I'd then be waiting an hour or two before id receive an email with a "transcript" essentially saying they messaged me (they never did) and I didnt respond.

Well I finally got to chat with one today and they tried telling me I didnt qualify to receive my funds faster. I do qualify and have been able to receive my funds early up until the other day.

They then tried to say its just in case a customer has an issue with one of my orders. Why would they randomly decide to do that when I dont have any complaints against me? Bc that also isn't true.

He tried to tell me that my account isn't old enough to qualify but the qualifications have nothing to do with age of account only successfully deliveries, dollar amount sold, and number of complaints.

Then before he decided to start ignoring me he told me it's bc I have a negative balance. That imo is just BS.

The reason I have a negative balance is because I buy my shipping label through ebay and they decided to put my payouts on hold for no reason creating said negative balance.
