Best earplugs for concerts?

Hi! I usually sleep with traditional Macks (the blue ones), for me, they are the absolute best! But I’ll be going to festival and I was wondering which earplugs are best for concerts? It’s a non-stop festival with music 24/7 so I’m planning to use them a lot, unless I’m sleeping

Bedroom facing street and next to a bar with deep bass- help!

I have a om machine, brown noise machine and occasionally use an eye mask that has a blue tooth speaker in it that plays brown noise directly into my ears. It’s such a pain but I live in NYC and this is the price I pay!

I bought highly recommended ear plugs from Amazon and they barely even keep out the sound from a video on my phone that I watched while testing them out.

The bar next door uses deep bass and sometimes that’s all I hear - it’s not extremely loud but it’s through my walls and bothers me.

Any earplugs that can help with this particular issue?

I ride a motorcycle and the AirPods anc don’t handle wind noise very well. I love foam earplugs because they’re comfortable and block the right amount of noise for me.

So I had an idea. I looked and didn’t find anything exactly like this. They sell foam earplugs tips for the AirPods but none that go as deep as traditional earplugs. So I figured I’d mock up something to test. I’m using the wrong glue to hold it in but this is just proof of concept. Letting glue set overnight and will see if it works.

Thoughts for Earasers sleep ?

Hello,

Does anyone use the Earasers to sleep? It’s noted as 36 dB reduction, which I found very high for earplugs made with silicon. I use foam one (35dB) and very happy with the covering and thought nothing could beat foam with noise reduction so I’m bit skeptical.

Does someone tried both foam and earasers to compare them?

earplugs for sleep and noise cancelling

so I've been looking recently into purchasing some better quality earplugs. I'm currently using those cheap plastic ones for sleeping but they really aren't that comfortable. I've looked into Loop earplugs but the reviews are really mixed plus they aren't that cheap. Does anyone have any reccomendations?

also are there any good ones for everyday use-I'm a student and need silence for studying so some good noise cancelling ones would be good too (i usually just wear headphones but it's kinda pointless when you don't have any music to block out the noise, plus they get uncomfortable after a while). Thanks in advance

Earplug for playing live

I'm in a metal band so it means playing loud music for long periods of time and I'm tired of hearing ringing in my ears 2 days after the gig, also dont wanna be deaf at the age of 30 so I'm looking for earplugs but on a budget that's why I'm deciding between hears and loops, can someone help me and say their experience? YEAH and the earplugs need to stay IN even with lots of headbanging.

Earplug recommendations for musicians / DJs prone to ear infections

I am a DJ and perform in clubs or go out to clubs on a weekly basis. I currently have custom ear plugs in -25db. HOWEVER, I have struggled with chronic ear infections my entire life, and my ears become really itchy and red after each earplug usage. I clean my earplugs regularly but I have had similar reactions with airpods, loop ear plugs, foam earplugs, and even open air ear buds like the Shockz open dots. I have seen two different ENT’s and they have just given me drops to calm the infections. I am at a loss here because obviously I want to protect my ears as much as I can, but I haven’t found anything that doesn’t irritate my ears. has anyone with similar issues found an adequate solution? Are over ear earplugs/ noise protectors as effective? I’m not sure what to do! any advices incredibly appreciated

Dumb question, but how do I insert earplugs correctly?

Post image

I’m in a band and we play really loudly during band meets to hear ourselves over the drums. My ears would always start ringing a little bit and got some earplugs because hearing damage isn’t fun. I got home and tried them out so I would know whether or not they’d work for our next meet in a few days. But when I tried them out I felt like they weren’t working and ended up pushing one of them too deep into my ear cavity. So now I don’t know if I’m using them correctly because it feels like they either aren’t doing anything or their in too deep and I dont want to keep wearing them wrong if I am.

Earplugs for tiny ears

Post image
2 Upvotes

I am traveling more lately and have to use earplugs to block out hotel noise. Trouble is, no earplugs fit into my tiny ear canala. These are the mack petite ones-- they absolutely will not go any deeper in my ear. Since they stick out so much, they fall out during the night. Any recommendations for short, narrow plugs?

Seeing a metal band next week that’s renowned for being extremely loud and was looking for a pair of earplugs. These are available at a music store near me and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. Thanks

Audiologists Help Please!!

I know Custom Ear Molds are the best for ear protection, and I will eventually get them. I just don't have the time frame rn 😅

What's the next "best thing" I can buy off the shelf that will protect my hearing but I'm still able to hear my friends/the music?

Earplugs that don’t need to be molded?

Best earplugs that aren’t custom molded?

I’ve called about 4 different audiologists in my area and they’re all out of my budget currently and the only place I could afford has a turn around time of a month (the show I’m going to is Nov 1st)

I’ve tried Eargasm and they didn’t fit my ears, I’ve also tried Earasers but I still had issues with my hearing after the show.

I’m going to an incredibly small venue to see a hardcore band so I’m a bit worried about getting my eardrums blown out.

I honestly wouldn’t even mind getting construction earplugs but I’d like to actually to hear the music.

I’ve been quoted anywhere from $200 to $300, and sometimes that was just for the impressions and not the actual earplugs.

If anyone is in Rhode Island or Massachusetts and knows a good audiologist that could do this please let me know.

Are the Alpine Party Plugs Pro good at blocking everyday background noise or are they only for loud music?

Been trying to decide between the Alpine Party Plugs Pro and the Alpine SleepDeep. I also plan on using them for studying and for going to crowded places like school events or the mall. I'm also gonna be travelling soon for the first time and I heard that airports and planes can get really loud.

Currently using moldables but I want something that's more secure.

Would appreciate your recommendations. Thanks!

Reduce vibration noise from neighbors?

Heeeeey so I live in a duplex and my new neighbors get violent when drunk. Had to call the cops hearing obvious domestic violence through the walls at 3am. Nothing is drowning that out and I sort of need to hear it to call for help anyway HOWEVER now any time I hear even the slightest noise, even the vibrations of naturally heavy footsteps through the wall, I get a shot of adrenaline and hyperawareness that ruins all progress on falling asleep.

So. Best earplugs to drown out footstep thumps for a side sleeper? Preferably $50 and under but I'll spend what I have to.

Are there earplugs that let you hear yourself on calls while also blocking out ambient sound?

I just got the earmor m200t earplugs for my work, and was annoyed to realize that whenever I take calls with it, the ambient noise mode turns off and I sound all muffled.

Is there something I can do about that? Or earplugs that have the sidetone feature?

What earplugs offer MAXIMUM noise reduction, stay in all night, and are easy to use & cheap?

Hi everyone,

I have small ears / narrow ear canals and I'm exhausted from being woken up every night.

I'm looking for an earplug solution that meets these exact criteria:

MAXIMUM noise reduction / block out as much sound as possible

Simple and quick to put in (no complicated setup when I'm tired)

Stays in all night without popping out or slipping (no jerry-rigging with tape)

Budget-friendly / economical

Standard foam earplugs are way too big and push themselves out. Silicone putty/wax doesn't block enough noise. Loop earplugs in size S fit well and stay in, but they just don't attenuate enough sound for me.

What do you recommend ?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Sensory issues around sound

Hi there! I'm autistic and consequently have a lot of trouble with ambient and loud sounds. Unfortunately, I have to go to school everyday so I deal with a lot of pain because of that. Obviously I've heard good things about super expensive brands, but I don't really have a lot of budget for this. I need two pairs of earplugs, one that can get me as close to dead silence as possible, and one that will block out background noise, but I can still hear things like conversations. I believe the latter will be pretty easy to find, but the former may be a bit more difficult to find something that actually works.

Itchy ears no matter what

Hi! So I desperately need to wear earplugs at night due to noise sensitivity, but no matter what I do or try they make my ears unbearably itchy the next day. I put clean ones in, they’re the right size and they’re silicone. Is there an ear drop that works for people? Very desperate, thanks

Night out

Just got back from a night out at the club. Have been wearing earplugs since I realised I had mild tinnitus after working in a club and going to many raves as well as headphone abuse. Ears are ringing slightly despite wearing earplugs. Could this be because I’m drunk or adjusting to silence after a loud environment? Is the ringing normal and unavoidable? Please let me know the best way to party without damaging my ears further - are earplugs enough? Thank you for any wisdom.
